I was curious and tried the confirm.to on one of my unresponsive bidders. Sure enough she read the email in about 20 min after I sent it. Well at least I know my email is getting through. However she still hasn't responded to my WBN or the WBN reminder. Guess this will require an NPB reminder. But it is good to know that the email IS getting through.

There is a service called Itraceyou that also sends you confirmation when the other party reads your email. You can decide if you want the other party to know that you have gotten confirmation. You can learn about it at itraceyou.com.
There is another service called certifiedmail at www.certifiedmail.com. This is is specifically for the purpose of providing proof that email was read.

And those services also are dependant on the email reader the recipient uses, AND what sort of security settings the recipient has.
For example, if they have image loading and script executing off ... the "confirmation" will fall flat, even if they are using OUTLOOK or HOTMAIL.
