Scotttv, actually that would vary by CC company.

Nextcard's Visa states 60 days from the Mailed copy of that month's statement.

Which actually works out even more to my benefit, since my last statement posted on October 25th. I placed my PS2cart order on the 28th. So I've got till November 25th for the statement to even arrive, then 60 days after that to dispute.

Of course, that's disputing a CC payment to PayPal...

I'm just hoping for the best. I'm pretty confident I won't have to worry about canceling any orders...

Why shouldn't I worry about Ps2Cart? They are taking my money out now, but not shipping for almost a month?? What's up with that? I think they should be held accountable on filling us in on what is going on. Why should it be up to us? We paid for their merchandise, which I don't believe they have or will have, and now we have to try to get our money back from paypal? I bought mine on October 15th, so what have they been doing with that money? The money for the system, memory card and the two games I bought after that? All I want to hear is the real deal from them, Ps2cart. They take our money but not time to update us on our order status until they can't grab the money any more.

I think we should all take comfort in knowing that the California Attorney Geneal has been notified of the Gametek situation and will be monitoring the situation. I still think the real key will be how they will ship the product. The Playstation could never have to show up and all they have to do is say they shipped it not there problem. Will there be insurance and tracking numbers on these packages?

Yeah I know I had a typo....who cares what they do with our money? Their agreement says by December 15th. Period. Not 5 to 10 business days or anything. Every single person who orders has the same agreement...by December 15th. And every single order thru Paypal is guaranteed against fraud upto $5000. The new
TOS doesn't come into effect until November 9th. Gametek is just amatures by trying to get the customers involved to help them with thier own situation. That doesn't mean we won't get our Playstation 2. They just are understaffed and don't provide enough info on their webpage and it just causes a feeding frenzy. Just think all the idiots that will call Monday and do nothing but clog their lines. Did anyone notice how PS2Cart doesnt have the Verified Paypal Symbol on thier webpage anymore?

Your right, mailing would be a problem unless they/we could verify it somehow. I think after this they should insure the packages so they can be tracked, or else send them UPS. I wasn't thinking about the mail thing, no wonder they could sell so many so cheap, they just paid for the paypal guarantee symbol to make a bundle. You think they would have kept a low profile, like they did before paypal shut them down. Also, I gave a person's email address as reference on my order, who asked me last week if I was sure I gave it to them, so looks like that offer was bogus also.

IPotter...I think you and all the other goofs who can't sit still until Dec 15th should ask for a refund.....then I can move up closer to the top of the list for shipment.

We do answer our phone calls, just that when there's more then 2 people already on the phone, new calls will get sent to our auto message box. You can always try calling us back in an hour or so. As you may already know, we are amateur at running a business of this scale and are learning everyday and changing everyday to help out our customers. We have been working over-time to work out all these issues, so please be patient. If we're a scam we would have been gone by now with all the money we have.

I don't doubt GameTek's reasons for sending out the "Paypal email" or their promise to deliver the stations by 12/15. I run a small business on Ebay as well as attend law school and I know what it's like to be unexpectedly swamped with orders and have to juggle that with other responsibilities. I know first hand some customers can be downright unreasonable when it comes to shipping expectations.
PS2's from ps2cart were never, in any case, guaranteed to be delivered before 12/15, so expecting them to somehow step up their release or provide uneccesary assurances due to the paypal seizure (which has also once happened to me - though I got it cleared up in a couple of days) is asinine. I've spoken to a rep at Paypal and he assured me that if the Playstations don't show, anyone not recieving one can get their money back within 30 days (of the promise date - 12/15). The whole "the PS2's in the mail" trick won't work.
It's always a little touch-and-go when dealing with an unproven online vendor with sketchy customer service. There could be any number of "scams" or less than honest activities PS2 cart could be perpetrating. However, there are no facts that support this conclusion right now.
Online purchases always carry a certain amount of risk. When each of you, myself included, sent payment, you trusted them enough to deliver on their promise to deliver the PS2 by 12/15. I'm not privvy to their personal business details, but I don't think they are any more likely to rip anyone off now rather than when your payment was sent. If you trusted them then, why not trust them now.
My advice to PS2 cart is to leave a message here or on your site, clearly spelling out your shipping policies (UPS Ground to all buyers I assume, as that's probably most cost effective) so that there is less doubt about your sincerity in getting these out on time.

We are hoping to get every orders out around Dec. 1-5 and ship them with either Fedex or UPS ground. Anything that ships closer to the deadline would have to be express or 2nd day or overnight depending how close we come to Dec. 15. Hope this clear up some confusion. As for customer who thinks we are here to make interest off of your money, please read the link for "contact us." There it states that you, the customer have the option of a full refund(which means we would have to incurred the processing charge) or a free game along with each ps2 order(that's 44.99 per ps2). So we'll do whatever it takes to get these orders out to you on time.

Can I be the only one who thinks cornholed and gametekcom are the same person?

This is going to be a fun one to watch; entertainment to the max. It might demonstrate a fundamental weakness in the PayPal model, a weakness which isn't much addressed by modifying the "protection" plan.

I thought there might be a connection all last weekend, but I don't know what to think at this point. I just have to put my faith in them to deliver on their promise, if they don't there will be no Christmas at my house as the money will never be refunded in time for Christmas, and they have most of what I had to spend. I do notice that cornholed seems to have a split personality though! lol! lol!

$2000? I see you're also hoping there's still a desperate market come christmas time?

Can't blame you. I am too. Though I only ordered one. Which I'll very happily turn around and sell, and wait till my free one arrived from the PS2 referrals program.

I was quite surprised. A rep from Gametek replied to a FAX I sent over the weekend. Called me up at my house number.

I had asked about the status of the PayPal thing, which he said was still Fubared, but not to worry. Shipments were still scheduled to begin December 1st.

I also asked about the referrals program. The program aparently ends on the 15th- after that, all the completed orders will be tallied, and they'll count your referrals, and e-mail you with the total. From there, you do with it what you choose. $10 per, free PSX if you get 20... like the little yellow box says.

Which I'm hoping all goes well. I've got 50 names on that list. Hoping most of them decided to stick with it, instead of getting scared.

I kind of wonder- I personally think these same customers who are so scared of GameTek being a fraud are the ones who caused the problems in the first place. People pulling their money out of the account only a few days after placing their order, claiming it to be a fraud. I don't care who's handling the money- PayPal, A CC Merchant Account- they wouldn't be too happy, and it would take some time to sort everything out.

A few random comments from the peanut gallery in responce to a few things I've read across the board:

CC Limits... CC Merchant accounts are available from different companies, at varying rates, with varying plans. Some of the more expensive plans are unlimited. Many are not. Especially the lower-priced ones. I've personally worked with a man who ran a small computer store, with a low-end CC account. He had an extremely good month (Laptops were popular sales...) and actually met a top limit on exchanges he didn't even know he had.

Waiting to ship everything on one day instead of shipping as-parts arrive... Besides the fact that keeping track of a constant string on incoming and outgoing merchandice is a pain in the ass, some shippers (UPS at least. We don't deal with FedEd enough to say for sure..) offer VERY nice deals for people who ship LOTS of packages at once. Kind of a bulk purchase deal. Gametek may just have decided to hold shipments because it's easier to manage that way- but they may also have been planning on some nice deals in shipping, too.

My merchant account has no limit.

It costs $25 per month + their charges, around 3%.

I had to have an ordinary bank commercial account to get it. There may have been some start up fee, it's been several years, but I do have things like an aluminum plate to do those "imprints", so I likely paid for it. But it wasn't more than $2-300.

But more to the point, my bank would not have allowed me to pull any kind of "collect money now send stuff later" stunt when I first signed up. They personally examine what their new merchant account customers are up to. I'm not sure if they would allow it even now, but years of near zero chargebacks gets you some respect.

I am one of the lucky ones I guess, I have the best of both worlds, If Gametech is legit which I believe they are, )or they would have "amscrayed" alread). Paypal got shut down while I was trying to pay bankcheck for the system I was ordering.(So my money is still in my acount waiting to pay) Gametech has my order and acknowledged that and just sent me an email that said that I would be contacted when everything was straightened out with paypal. I just received another e-mail from gametech that I will not lose my place in getting a system. (Thank you gametech!) I don't want to participate in the feeding frenzy that is happening in the auctions and will wait patiently for gametech. Sometimes you just gotta believe.

I have spent at least 6 hrs going over paypal and bank history.
I am appauled at your negligent manor in handling things.
Extreme anger. And Fatiuge.
I have Lupus and I do not need this kind of stress.
On some of these items it was a matter of looking back on some of the pages and seeing that items you claim being rejected, had already been paid.
I am shocked and stuned. I called paypal and the way you do things is taken so lightly. $90.00 worth of nsf funds do to your double billing on my purchases.
And paypal has no intention of paying me back. Or removing my restrictions.
I will not subimt my info again. It would be the same info you already have.
By 2 am this morning I had well over $900.00 dolars in my bank account. So I have no idea why you keep emailing me insuficant funds.

***************************************************************************************************************
Oh my God If you would just look at some of my records and see that many of these have already been paid.
And you are still trying to collect for them.
Ted I have blacked out a few to protect their names.

You will notice the overdraft charges on page Three of bank statement. $45.00 on 12-13 supposedly for $205.00, $20.18 and $69.17.
Then you will see (the same day pay pal deposited $21.15)
Withdrawal on 12-15. $245.51
Lets put it this way There are $ 64.50
deposits 12-08 to cover for $140.00
The 4 items I did pay pal $48.75
purchases for on 12-12. $588.84

Then On the morning of $288.40
12-13 I deposited $ 7.35
funds for 6 items $130.00
I purchased on $ 19.25
12-13&14 $ 37.00
$83.20
Not to mention the two deposits I received on 12-11 and 12-15 from Paypal them selves!.
***************************************************************************************************************
Why is it that you actions are never the cause.
Factually! I checked with my bank today. And Pay Pal had double hold on my funds.
Example: $205.00, funds were held from my bank on Dec. 8,2000
And funds are being held for the same amount for "Credit Card" transactions.

So in fact you are the cause of funds not being there.
What is the point of having "Autosweep"?.
You should have the correct amount of funds everyday if you are using AutoSweep.
There is no reason there should be a hold on my pay pal account.
I only use pay=pal when I do a trans action.
And I might add that this bank account is used for Pay Pal and Pay Pal only.

I would like an answer from a human. Not a generic answer.

If you can not take some responsibility for all the changes you keep making to your policies, I will leave Pay Pal.
I might add that you have quite a bit of competition now.

I am sorry to say this again. I truly am.
But pay pal is the cause of everything frozen.
You have submitted electronic withdrawal, And "ACH"
on my account. Meaning you have double charged me on some
10 transactions. Then causing overdraft fees for me depleting some of the very funds I deposited in this bank account.

I have proof.
Example: On 12-08-2000 I paid an item for $205.00.
On that day I had $906.54 in my bank account.
yet on 12-13-3000 I receive email from you that this amount had not gone thru.

Whenever the electronic funds request are sent to MY BANK,
THOSE PURCHASE AMOUNTS ARE SET ASIDE!

Then you come along and run the same PURCHASE REQUEST ITEM
on my card .

THOSE EXACT SAME PURCHASE AMOUNTS ARE SET ASIDE BY MY BANK!

But you cannot have an "ACH" sitting on top of an electronic withdrawal.
When you do this you cause those funds to be locked up so to speak/
The short of it is I have $2400.00 FROZEN in BANK ACCOUNT.
FOR your actions for $1200.00 worth of charges.

So far your actions, not mine has caused $90.00 worth of overdraft charges.

In the beginning I thought I maid the error and deposited more funds.
I really did not think I made the errors, but I took the benefit of the doubt upon myself.

I will be calling you in a little while.

All emails I have sent to you in the last 3 days are being compiled together to send to the FDIC, for you have clearly shown gross negligence in this issue of current charges.
