Okay.
Just got back from picking up the kids so I have time to explain my rationale.

I hate listing like new items alongside my new and nwot auctions.
I'm cleaning out my closets and listing designer items that belong to myself and my kids. I list the stuff in lots.
Prior to my eBay days, they would have been donated to charity or given to my friends (who all have waaaaay too much clothing anyway).
Listing in lots, it brings a higher final bid and costs less to ship. Since the items are not NEW, it doesn't compete with my regular sales.
I list mostly name brand higher end clothing, my "real" auctions have experienced much higher hits.
I am only listing "real" auctions that I know will bring in $$ so I am starting them at under $10 (less money in eBay fees).
The money I pay for postage?
Well, I've been getting 1.5% cash back on postage for months now (I use my PayPal Visa) so I just figure it's a wash. Sure, it's nice to get a "postal discount", but it also nice to give.
It's really not costing me anything but donation clothing that, when listed with my other "goodies", only has caused "doubt issues" on my NWOT auctions (from paranoid bidders).

*Anyone care to flame or point out the flaws in my logic?*
