I bought this at a yard sale Friday for a $1.00.

A guy next to me kept looking at it and said " what a ugly chair" I figured for a dollar I can't lose. It’s very well made by company named Cal-Styles in 1965. I am hoping it is designed by a well known person.
I believe the chair belongs to a kitchen set. I remember this type of kitchen set. The tables had the black metal legs with similar design as on the chairs. I also remember that you had to be very careful sitting on these chairs in the summer if you were wearing shorts. If you were sunburned and wearing shorts you could look forward to exploring new heights in pain. Seems to me about the same time those tie on fabric seat pads became popular too........
I think the style was euphemistically called Mediterranean. Sorry I never heard of the manufacture. Maybe someone else knows the maker.

I think I will list it. I know that 50's and 60's stuff is in. Everone that has seenit makes a comment. It's a good conversation piece.

Too bad you only have one. Wonder what the table looked like? It is so fugly-it is super! But then, my idea of true art is spun plastic. Remember those great spun plastic lamp shades? I love em!
And that chair just might appeal to the goth gothic crowd. All that black wrought iron.
