>would you bid on an item that stated "buyer pays S/H?<

No.

If the auction stated buyer to 'pay exact shipping charge' yes, but never will I bid on anything that the seller can 'adjust' the handling fee on AFTER the auction closes.

To easy to make up for a low winning bid with a 'handling fee'.

Been there and witnessed that!

If the TOS states 'winning bidder to pay exact shipping and a $1 or $2 packaging & handling fee then maybe, depending on the item and the bid. (I can always lower my bid by the same amount when I know upfront what the 'handling fee' is going to be)

There is nothing on ebay that I HAVE to have.
(I used to think that there was)
