Read again:
I can tell you it is a technical issue unrelated to the NPB issues with their account.
I suspect LovePotions is correct, if I had to guess.
Since she owes eBay money, and probably a few other sellers she stiffed, chances are you are not near the top of the pay-back list. Initiate formal action such as filing a mail fraud complaint with the post office and following up with her local police department. File a fraud complaint with eBay right away if you haven't already done so. It doesn't take a genius to see that she has intentionally defrauded you, otherwise she would have returned the goods. Someone like that belongs in jail.
Unfortunately, the bidder is not the only one at fault. Your "dark vision of humanity" is a result of reckless and cavalier handling of personal checks. I've dealt with many wholesalers and I would never expect one to take a personal check and then ship before the check clears. You are portraying your laziness as some kind of business integrity. Hard to generate much sympathy.

twinsoft: My heart is breaking but somehow I'll manage to get through the day without the benefit of your sympathy.
We are not wholesalers. We do retail only.
As far as 'reckless and cavalier' goes, everyone's entitled to their opinion, no matter how ignorant. If we waited four weeks for each check to clear, in a very short time we would no longer be in business.

Pay day from Mrs. Deadbeat to Tuesday, 2/5 RIGHT?
If your not paid, call the police department back first thing Wednesday.
As I have told you before, I live in Colorado and I am more then happy to help you if I can do anything. Just let me know.
I read this thread daily for the last updates. Normally, I never read threads that get this long!
I am hoping for the best for you!

Thanks, richierich. I'm planning a wee bit of payback today on a different bidder who bounced a check on us in late November, then sent five paragraphs worth of husband-got-laid-off rolling-pennies-to-feed-kids it-will-be-an-empty-Christmas someday-it'll-happen-to-you daytime drama.
I checked her bidding yesterday and she had won over 40 auctions in January. Time to run that NSF check through her account again.
Funny, she lives in Colorado, too.
If not for you, richierich, I'd think there was something in the water.

Good for you for following up on the rolling pennies gal. I hope you're able to nail this latest gem of a bidder.

I'll do this if Ms. Deadbeat doesn't pay up by midnight PST, since that will firmly establish her as an accomplished liar. I too would like to see her come here and explain herself.

Email tonight from Ms. Deadbeat:
I have sent payment via bidpay as I said I would. They are having technical
difficulties processing orders tonight, but the order is in and you should
receive a confirmation from them shortly. Kindly remove the checks from your
Me page or I will report you. It is illegal to post someone's checks on the
internet, even if they are NSF and it is strictly forbidden by Ebay. I hope
this is the last contact we ever have to have.

There is no record of this transaction on BidPay. "Technical difficulties", indeed.

You might want to email Bidpay and verify whether or not the MO was sent.
I recently had one where there was a mistake in my email address and it did not show up and I got know email. I did get the MO.

Bettylou
I would suggest that you contact Mrs. Deadbeat and ask for the BidPay confirmation number. Then email BidPay with the confirmation number and ask for verification.
If it can not be verified, call the police department in the morning and let them know what has NOT happened.
Is it really "It is illegal to post someone's checks on the
internet, even if they are NSF and it is strictly forbidden by Ebay"?
I can understand that if the account number is showing but if not, I wonder why. You can legally post them in a store.

Please keep us apdated as to the status of the
bidpay transaction. I hope it goes through.
Calling bidpay tomorrow to verify that the MO was sent and also ask if there really were technical dificulties is a good idea.
Also, I too wonder if it is illegal to post
an NSF check especially when all identifying
information is blanked out. I wish we had
someone here that could provide a difinitive answer.
I would only remove the NSF checks from the about ME page AFTER (not before) the MO is in your hand.
"I hope this is the last contact we ever have to have."
(I wish I could put a big bet on this PROPOSITION. It's a lock. I doubt that bettylou will lose any sleep if she never hears from this deadbeat again.)

Hi guys.
richierich: My thoughts exactly. I requested the confirmation number from Mrs. D. No response.
Coonr: I emailed BidPay, explained the situation, hopefully will hear from them in the a.m.
As for the rest, no, as far as I know it is NOT illegal to publicize an NSF check, especially if one has removed all identifying information and the account number. She wrote her eBay userid on it, not me. Brick and mortar stores post NSF checks all the time at their cash registers, right there where everyone can see them.
And no, it doesn't violate any eBay policy that I know of. There has been no violation of the privacy policy. And the link was posted from my AboutMe page, not the feedback page (which would have been a violation).
Also, AFAIK, the two NSF checks are my property. Of course, I'm willing to part with them for a reasonable amount of cash.

Hopefully, biday will get back to you and confirm the transaction. If they don't get back to you, it's probably a good idea to wait a couple of weeks so she can't just say:
"It's in the mail."
Hopefully, she will get arrested and a TV movie will be made.
Then you can auction the NSF checks on ebay under the Celebrity Memorabelia category

I reviewed the AboutMe page policy and it appears that exclusive of the bounced check link, eBay possibly could have "gotten" me already if they had wanted to. The policy as written is really vague (by design, most likely) but seems to prohibit having selling terms on the AboutMe page if there are links anywhere off eBay on the page...and I have lots of off-eBay links.
Not a big deal to fix, fortunately.

professorhiggins, you raise a good point. In the real world, accounts receivable are sold all the time at some kind of discount. I wonder if it actually would be possible to auction off bad checks.

You really need to stop making yourself out to be the victim here. And stop exaggerating the facts. Fact: I sent you a MO to cover NSF check. Fact: I have documentation to prove it. Fact: I sent payment via Paypal and YOU refused it. I did not cxl the trans for 24 hrs. when you made it clear that you were refusing payment. Please save me the spiel "I don't accept Paypal". If this is just about $$ then why not accept payment when it was sent weeks ago? What?...Afraid of a little $3 fee? That is also the question the police are asking. They believe that your true agenda is to harrass and threaten. You see, they have the documentation to prove everything I have said as true. They also have a Harrassment complaint filed by me. Lie: Her store is Full of my items. Fact: I had 3 items which I paid for, Not a STORE FULL! And how about the other 40 Ebayer's who you've done this to. Are they all lying too? Last I checked you had over 100 Negs before I ever posted mine...and several Ebayer's have come forward to reveal their "nightmarish" experience with you. Did you bother to inform the readers here that you left me 37 negs while we were still working this out? How can you expect anyone to want to work anything out with you when you have already told the world that they are frauds, liars, etc. ect. I have been congratulated for leaving the feedback and making other Ebayer's aware of your business practices. Fact: You have already rec'd FVF on the auctions that I refused to pay for, you never sent the merchandise, so you have lost Nothing. Even if I decided to pay for the other auctions, how can I possibly trust that you would even ship the items to me? Your feedback is filled with complaints just like mine. In your own thread you state a problem with an Ebayer who paid you and never rec'd their merchandise, you claim that you couldn't read the writing or the item #, yet that didn't stop you from cashing this man's check and then leaving Neg feedback claiming payment never rec'd. Your feedback is FILLED with similar stories and the only common thread here is YOU. Kinda makes one think that YOU are the problem, not the Buyer's.
(Readers See for yourself) Look, your feedback is filled with... "Money sent...merchandise never rec'd" "when I tried to contact her she would not respond" "when I tried to inquire as to the status of my purchase I am met with abuse and hostility". When someone tries to inquire as to what the hold up is you become rude and abusive. I guess it's that "dark view of humanity" coming out. There are 137 negs in your feedback, so I guess you lied about that too.
If you are not a people person, then why own a business were tact and diplomacy are needed...if you have none? Also if you're being so honest then why hide behind a psuedonym? I have nothing to hide, therefore I am using my real login.
BTW the phone call you mention...sorry, not me. I have better things to do with my time.

Everything is actually irrelevant except for the fact that you did not pay the seller, who in good faith, mailed you the items! The proof here is the fact that this thread has been going on for 2 weeks. If you were a decent and honest buyer, you would have had the money paid immediately.
For you to try and accuse the seller is not going to go over well. Especially by being nitpicky, as if waiting for the seller to misstep in this nightmare excuses you.

I just have to fight for this seller! I can't imagine how you came up with 137 negs? She has 68 neutrals and 79 negatives, and it looks like you left about half of those actual negs since only 34 of them are "unique users". Therefore considering this seller has a total number of 7837 or 4411 unique positives, I am highly impressed with a negative rating of only 34!
