I received this e-mail tonight - I imagine others will too. I would presume this is someone's idea of a joke, but I sent a copy to PayPal. If you get one, I think you should send it to PAYPAL also.

Obviously, no one in their right mind would try to extort money, and then address & sign their letter, but for what it is worth, here it is:

I love this. This is so funny that it's probably a joke.

I want it to be real, though. I'd like to believe someone this self-deluded is walking the face of the planet.

Let us all remember who owns Hong Kong these days. The Chinese are not known for a sense of humor about the Internet.

I have to believe I wasn't singled out for this honor, I imagine others have or will receive this. I received it just about 30 minutes ago.

It is easy enough to find auctions with the PayPal Logo, and then just write to the seller.

I "think" it is a joke also, but I still think PayPal should be notified of such.

Realize there are some dump or unsophisticated sellers too, who might be frightened by this.

Perhaps it is a competing company doing it??

Joke or not, it is a form of extortion, and I hope they catch the joker!

Of course, someone who actually clicks on the "myfriend4ever" link is going to be in a mess of trouble.

Their e-mail ID will be captured by the cgi script. It will probably be used for some kind of hack. It will undoubtedly be used as a source point (origin) for further spam.

Simply amazing! Y'd think with this much time on his hands, this guy would do something else...

Fortunately, I had sense enough not to click on or go to any of his links. Thanks for the info on the email ID capture.

I can hardly believe no one else has received this letter!!
