My favorite was the seller listing an eBook for $1, it was something I wanted so I was going to bid then I saw S&H was $10. The guy emailed the book to you!!! Now that is some big time fee avoidence.

I, personally, don't see the problem with listing an item for $1 and then charging legitimate fees for shipping. It is possible that this person does not use USPS Priority Shipping (or doesn't know ship materials are free through them) and uses store bought supplies.
Box: $1.50
Peanuts and bubblewrap: $1.50
Shipping + insurance: $5.00
total: $8
Also, unless this person is a direct competitor of yours, what does it matter how much this person charges for shipping, unless he doesn't disclose until after the auction is over?

Excuse me, but I need to vent here. I get so damn tired of people bitching about shipping costs! If you buy something from a catalog do you e-mail them and demand that they cut their shipping and handling fees??? A piece of designer clothing for $8.00 is a BARGAIN!! Who cares how the cost breaks down? I sell loads of things on eBay and I get nervous everytime I sell something for less than $10.00. People don't seem to understand that it costs just as much to ship a $5.00 item as it does a $500.00 item. I ship UPS exclusively and am constantly running into problems with penny-pinching buyers who argue about the UPS charges, even though I state clearly in my TOS that that the item will be shipped UPS. They will e-mail me 5 and 6 times begging me to ship it USPS to save about 30 cents!!!! They accuse me of "ripping them off" and "making money on shipping". I wish. I charge the exact UPS Ground charges, no handling fees and don't make a dime on shipping. After I buy all my packing materials and boxes, I lose my shirt. I have no problem with the buyers of my high-end stuff--they seem to understand that you get better service with UPS and you get what you pay for. The junk buyers are the ones that drive me nuts! I'd really like to tell these whiners to go to local garage sales and leave me alone!

it is really none of our business what the seller charges for shipping,i see the bidders dont care to pay 8.00 .
they must think it is worth it-1 plus 8 equals 9

For wwtraders1

You refund shipping on a return which is admirable, I'd wager you don't charge outrageous shipping. Most times the high price shippers include a disclaimer about not refunding the shipping.

Hey stopwhining -- Did you hear that ebay is going to start charging sellers if they have more than 9 characters in their user name?

Been through ebay boards and new announcements, can't find a restriction on user ids anywhere. Where do you get your info from?
