If it's not an ebay violation then they won't pull it.
I'll bet it gets pulled. If it isn't pulled because of the "keyword spamming" then because of the "catalog sale" violation.
There are clever sellers and there are sneaky sellers. There's a difference that I can't explain, you either know it or you don't.

Lowprofile,
You're kidding, right? How could this possibly be anything but blatant keyword spamming? Maybe we're supposed to believe that there are buyers purposely looking for merchandise lists? Or better yet that a buyer would hope to find a Discover Fashions purse by searching for a Kate Spade? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this was designed to take advantage of someone looking for a Kate Spade purse.
You are right, both items are perfectly legal to sell on eBay but only if they're listed correctly. This seller isn't being creative, it's deceptive, underhanded slime. I don't purchase from sellers that use these tactics, on ebay or anywhere else for that matter.
I wish that ebay would bring back a SafeHarbor function so this kind of crap can be reported.

Definite keyword spamming.
Do a search for "Kate Spade List" and you will see other sellers doing this also.

Kiara,
You're right, there are other sellers doing it too. Wish I had thought of doing that search too. : ) They're all just as guilty of keyword spamming as the first seller is. All the auctions should be shut down.

Just call me Jackswebb. I have said over and over again ebay needs a checks and balance on how to sell or buy. They just let any joker in and play by their rules not ebays and wonder why they aren't here anymore.
I read through this whole auction to find out that that auction had nothing to do with a Kate Spade Purse or merchandise just a way to get a wholesale list in how to purchase it along with the other names ie, gucci, fendi etc. What I don't care about is the idea that he had to do these kind of tatics to sell this list. Not until the very last sentence does he say that this purse is not a Kate Spade or any other designer purse or any knockoff. It is an off brand with no designer. I would not lower myself to these kind of tatics to sell something and besides the Purse is ugly and the list isn't worth the $25.00 they want for it. But, for newbe looking for merchandise they might bit at this auction.

Hey All!
Well, I definitely wasn't expecting this to get so heated, LOL! But I think the majority here know what I meant and agree it's a pain in the you know where. BTW - I did NOT turn her in so for those of you who feel she is doing nothing wrong, don't assume that if her auction (AUCTIONS actually) is still there it's because ebay didn't end it, it's because I didn't turn her in.

I just checked some of the auctions that had blatant keyword spamming and that were discussed here the past few weeks. They are now invalid or new listings by the sellers don't have the thousands of keywords so ebay must be listening to the reports they are getting.
Some of these were Powersellers so they aren't getting special treatment like many seem to think.

Just damned slimy. And the people who think it's cute and smart are probably selling doodads at the flea markets, too. And calling them sacred relics.

This isn't rocket science. This is a case of a seller skating too close to the edge who crossed the line. This is a textbook case of keyword spamming. Nothing more. Nothing less.People who engage in these sleazy tactics should be NARU'D. If the crap they list can't sell on it's own merits without having to recruit Gucci, Fendi, etc. then they should give it to Goodwill and get the hell off ebay so the honest sellers can compete.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Roadsmith, that's Tom Robbins who wrote that, he's great.
ALL THE REST OF YOU...
IF SELLING LISTS IS LEGAL BY EBAY RULES ( I DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO LOOK IT UP MYSELF) THEN WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS FINE AND CREATIVE...
IF NOT, THEN HOW COME THEY HAVEN'T BEEN REPORTED AND NARU'ED?
IF YOUR NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!!!
TURN 'EM IN AND LET EBAY HANDLE IT.

Ebay has grown to a huge size. There are too many auctions for ebay to monitor effectively. The users no longer care about the rules. It could be the death of ebay, a victum of it's own size.

AND......that's OK, she has plenty more just like it still running!
I looked on ebay earlier today for a way to report things like this but could not find it....I'm not sure if my computer just wasn't loading right or what.......is there a link I can go to? The more I think about it, I'd like to se what ebay has to say about her auctions.

Thanks tooltimes.
I sent in a "complaint" and could only list 10 auctions. She currently has 28, none of which have bids.
ebay sent an email confirming receipt of my complaint, advising it may take up to 36 hours and that they would not contact me back directly to let me know why they do or don't pull the items.
So we'll see.
Ya know, I didn't PLAN on turning her in, I just came here to vent and complain a little. But the people who thought it was cute kind of irritated me. Then some other people were so annoyed with it so I felt I should at least give it a go and see what ebay, (the final determinator, LOL!) thinks about it.

So, according to YOUR ebay rulebook, selling name brand items by USING the Name Brand is keyword spammin'. Got to get me one those rulebooks so I can shut down the competition.....
.
A Man will spend $2.00 for a $1.00 item he needs.
A Woman will spend $1.00 for a $2.00 item she doesn't need.

ebay has removed all of the auctions
http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewListedItems&userid=newpurses4less&include=0&since=-1&sort=2&rows=25&rdir=0
some items ended were:
963576330
963576331
963576348
963576647
963576644
Apparently it was misleading and against ebay rules.

It was obvious keyword spamming. I hope some of the posters of this thread learned something about the illegal practice.

I guess the seller wasn't so 'clever' after all.
I've got no sympathy for these sellers
that get caught at their trickery. They
poison the water for the no nonsense,
honest, sellers.
