From time to time I see auctions with wording such as "This auction may end at any time before [insert official ending time here]; it is the seller's prerogative. So don't wait until the last minute to bid, and when you bid, bid to win."
I think that makes it interesting. I can imagine all those teed-off snipers who didn't read the auction text too carefully...

Okay...I'll come clean.
I learned the hard way.
I put an item up for 10 days. It hovered at 50 odd.
I ended it near the end of the auction.
I also got yelled at by several bidders.
Should have let it ride, the snipers were jacking it up royally.
I will relist, with a reserve.
If you can't stomach the price, put a reserve. Lesson learned.
Ten day auctions, over rated. The 9.99 starting bid, okay, but might as well have a reserve unless I can live with the ending bid.
Personally I like to snipe, but sometimes I just go in and test someones proxy bid.
Depends on if I have time to snipe.
My luck with automatic ones is not so hot.
I was glad to find out about Vrane. I love to snipe as a buyer and feel it gives me better bids as a seller. Buyers love "the thrill of the chase" and will snipe for thr excitement. But I am ready to automate the task when I am the sniper. Setting my alarm to get up at 3:00 AM to snipe manually is not my idea of fun. Oh yeah, that's the way I've seen some sellers try to avoid snipers. Good try. Didn't work. YAWN!
Only thing about Vrane is that the data about the features is not very thorough or literate. As in not enough data and not well written. I had a bit of difficulty understanding some of what was being offered, and have a 138 IQ. But I did see the free public sniping software and will try it. Thanks for the info!
