stopwhining>> Sounds like you have a personal beef with fluffy. Though entertaining, the verbal vollys get a little old.

A BBL is a great idea (I've used it a few times myself), and I cannot think of a good reason why it is limited to 1000 ids. It makes no sense.

I had a buyer who finally answered me after many email attempts since November. I filed the Non paying bidder thing and that's when she finally emailed me back. She bought a telephone and a book and said "I'll pay for it if you can send it in a global flat rate mailer - I'm in Israel." I can't fit either of those in one of those mailers - not even the large one. I told her that, but I'm sure I won't hear back from her.

Another way to prove that a deadbeat is worthy of the propsed list is to submit a copy of the FVF refund. That way it's not a case of dueling negs and hearsay. It's verifiable eBay action.

i have nothing against fluffycat,i just think most sellers do not need to block over 1000 bidders.
john templeton once said the world is not that bad,you cant just go by the tv anchormen reporting flood, storm, rape and murders that the world is coming to an end.
ebay is an expensive place to sell,if you sell large volume of low price items and yu dont like deadbeats, have your own website and make them use credit cards or paypal.

You mean the final FVF screen? Or the entry in your account? Just curious.

Fluffy,
I thought that there was a confirmation e-mail. Am I wrong? I don't think anyone would like to submit their account info. I guess you could do a screen capture and use that. I was just trying to think of an alternative to the neg.

All of the companies I named in my post above do have their own stores. All of them have people who are not allowed in their stores. Only one that I know of, Sears, sells on ebay. I am also willing to bet they (Sears) have blocked bidders on ebay also. Sears has been around nearly 110 years. Do you think they should not be selling?

McDonalds sells a large volume of low priced items and the have lists of people who are not allowed in their stores. Do you think they should not be in business?

IMHO...anyone who doesn't have the guts to give neg feedback needs to stop whining and bitching about deadbeats

sellers just like yourself who wouldn't give neg feedback left you without any warning about this person

you reap what you sew

i did not say mcdonald or any company which sells lowe priced items should close shop.
i said to ask is there a better mousetrap than ebay??
if what you sell and where you sell is attracting more than your fairshare of deadbeats and troublemakers, then find a better way to sell-a better way of making them pay and better venue with better shoppers.
we can also put together a JERK SELLER LIST also, sellers who describe their items as real ivory, authentic antiques and then said they just dont know enough to tell the difference.

Like it is our fault! Better yet we would
need to look at who we are dealing with!
You can pick a lot of things in life (your
friends, your seat at the movies, your nose)
but you can't pick your blood relatives and
you CAN'T pick who bids on your eBay items
(unless you want to run ALL private auctions,
which would be VERY silly).

Maybe only YOU are asking for what you get,
stopwhining. :^)

As for sharing deadbeat eBay ID's, why bother
as they will only open a new account anyway...
Which is why I support one ID per person PERIOD!

As mostly a seller of a certain type of products I think a list of jerk buyers would not help me that much unless it was in the same format as ebay categories. I do buy items of all types and I think there should be a jerk buyers list also

You implied that McDonalds did not keep lists of customers that are not allowed in their store. You then mentioned high volume low priced sellers. I used McDonalds as an example, since you brought them into the mix as a business that was doing things right. You said: my point is -if the seller needs to block more than 1000 bidders, the seller should be banned from selling on ebay.

You used McDonalds when comparing ebay sales. I ponited out that McDonalds DOES keep lists of banned customers. According to your comments about ebay sellers, McDonalds should not be selling either, since they engage in the same practices that you condemed ebay sellers for doing.

if an ebay seller needs to block more than 1000 jerk bidders, then he/she should ask is there a better venue to sell or is there a better way to sell ??
of my 7 years of selling on ebay,i never feel i need to block any bidder, jerks do not always behave as jerks, sometimes they just dont like what they bid on ,or what they pay for or they are just trigger happy,or they just have a bad hair day.
does mcdonald want to share a list with home depot, burger king, starbuck, neiman marcus, kentucky fried chicken,or how anout the entire fortune 1000 list??
mcdonald is a place where homeless people buy a burger and hope to find a shelter for life, but this is not the case with ebay, jerk buyer cannot squat your living room .

I don't know if they want to share the list with other businesses, but they do. Many other business share or notify similar businesses of problem customers or people.

I have gotten calls from mall stores (national chains) to inform me about certain people or scammers. I have gotten emails from the owners of online stores with similar products to warn me about a scam or a problem customer. I have returned the favor. The general public may not be aware of it, but similar businesses quite often share information.

I don't know why you keep bringing up McDonalds they are a bad example to use in this case.
