There's the difference, tutam, I do care. Forums like this and the one you mentioned are a good starting point but hardly reliable information. Anyway, we're satisfied with our decision, and if PS2cart works out, then I'll have two ps2's

Ordered PS2 from PS2cart 'cos Gametek was Paypal-verified. Slight hope of getting money back. Will not even bother trying to get a PS2 now, even if I get a refund.

TOLD YA SO! Now which one of you desperate people want one of my 3 IN HAND PS2s? Lets start at $1500.00

Why would anyone want to bid $1500 for an item that is going for less than $600 on eBay, with an auction ending every 15 minutes or less?

I agree...and obtained one that way for 500.00. did this for my son for XMAS. And after the new year many stores will receive many more playstations and the person above holding 3 will be stuck with em... Better unload now for a reasonable price...later you get to keep them all because they will become commonplace.
good luck with that pricing

You found one for $500? Not too bad. I haven't been watching too closely, but every time I find one low enough to even have second thoughts about bidding on, the punk-ass kid has a reserve set at $750 or higher.

Funk that.

I'm even starting to get sick of the inflated "Retail" packages Wal-Mart and Amazon are selling. Three crappy games I couldn't give a damn about, and now Amazon's throwing in an Armageddon DVD? What the hell is that? Other than an excuse to pawn off more of their overstocked inventory, and jack the price of the "Package" up another $50.

$499 retail? Hah. I've got the new PSX editions of Lunar 1 and 2 waiting for me. I'll be just dandy with my PS1 until well after Christmas, when I can pick up the consle, and JUST the console for $250.

TMMamoru, dont give up hope just yet. I happened to score me a PS2 bundle from walmart.com last thursday. I used the ps2finder program. I should get it this wed. or thursday at the latest. I am not by any means bragging, just telling you they are still out there for sale...and it only cost me 444.00 with shipping for 3 games and the ps2. (plus if you dont like the games..which I dont either, you can just bring them back unopened to walmart or bestbuy..for a store credit, and pick up 3 games you want) Not a bad deal really. I too was getting bummed after loosing my money to Tam Tu, and not being able to find a PS2 anywhere. Dont give up hope just yet.

There you go BubbaDumb. No body is going to pay even $1000 for one of these things. As for me, I have already broken it to my son that he may not get his present till after Christmas. You waited too long. Surprising, a guy as smart as you. Any way, It sounds like PayPal is starting to make motions towards fulfilling their fraud obligation. Sounds like everyone is going to be happy, except Bubba of course.

My father spoke with the dective in charge of the case and he said that the owner is cooporating and has simply promised to many orders then he could handle. The dect said that the owner will send out as many ps2 as he can and the others will recieve a "good portion" of there money back, whatever that means. 2 days or a free game thats how i look at it.

hmm...that's a good news for some of us, and bad news for many of us...if you get PS2, that's great, but if you don't, you don't even get all the money back...haha

I hope I'm in that some of us...

IF - the tutam from the ps2cart had said all of the people who don't receive a ps2 will get their money back - that would be a little more believable. Hence what this tells me is he has spent some of the money and in NO WAY has the funds to pay all of the people back to whom he can't deliver. Also everyone think about this...if your arse was on the chopping block under investigation for fraud in the tune of 1MM would you admit that was your intent? Hell no, that would be insanity. Under pressure this is his story, Hell I'd say the same thing if I got caught. He is not going to admit intent. I really do hope that what Frank says is true. I really really do, but what I am gonna believe is how it really looks to me..'nuff said

Hey Frank...I was dumb too and paid by chashier's check also. Mine was not cashed but I think the s*** was comin' down by the time I got around to ordering and somehow I was spared. However I just got lucky it was not smart what I did. I did it to try and get one for my son. But hang in there, because even though I do not have official information at all, I do know how it works (I work for police). You may get some of it back from the frozen accounts. I don't have information stating that but I knew before anyone said that the financial accts would be frozen. Had friend once who's wife didn't send the check to the IRS. IRS froze everything and I mean everything. They couldn't even get 5 bucks from anywhere. That is what happens until something can be proven. Just trying to help. I still want to hear about your plane trip to CA...did you go? I was hoping you would put the ps2cart tutam into a box the size of a ps2 console. Here's hopin' k

Learn some? Mogu, bite me. Same for you, Tutam.

I personally am interested in what this Pam person may have to say. I, like everyone else here (except for a few people who just came to be asses....) are still looking for one of these infernal boxes.

If they're offering free swampland in Florida with every purchase, I'll think twice about it.

You got one? That's great. You wanna' sell it? I'll give you retail plus shipping. That not enough, then piss off. I'll keep looking.

That's such a load. Gametek said there site is automated and would display 'sold out' when they had reached their limit. And he hasn't shipped any PS2's out yet so its not like he is overloaded there. Sounds like the only thing he had more than he couldn't handle was getting all the checks and M.O.'s cashed in time before the feds caught up with them. There will be no PS2's shipped from Gametek. Period. All the wishful thinking in the world won't change that.

Kjanine, since nobody at Gametek was trying to hide... I thought maybe they were attempting a little bit different fraud. Hell, it's how I'd to it if I was running this game. (And it's basically what PayPal is doing now. Go figure.)

Get your boys together to stand in line at the stores, lucky pre-orders at Amazon- order them on E-bay, whatever. But get like 5 or 10 PSX2s in hand and in stock. Then start this preorder thing, like Gametek did. Easily a Million bucks liquid cash into a single high-interest account, the stock market, etc... and let it sit for months. (Till, ta-da! December 15th.) At this time, mail out the limited stock you have, and keep good records of this.

Then send out a message like all the other big retaiers- "We were seriously shorted in our shipment by Sony. We're sorry. Here's a full refund."

You did mail out a few systems. Yes, there is a shortage. Doesn't really matter that you took more orders than you ever could hope to fill- you completed the so-called promised "Action" and did sell PS2s. The rest got refunds and an apology.

Meanwhile, you've just aquired anywhere from an easy $100,000... to possibly even doubling your money or more, if you've got a smart stockbroker who's been taking advantage of the unstable market these last few months. Everyone gets their money back, nothing "illegal" has been done, and you've made one nice, easy profit.

Maybe that was their intent, but they read the market wrong and did something stupid, like invested all that million into Apple stocks, and watched that million turn into just under $250,000. Now they're panicking, because they've made no money, and they've nowhere near their original sum and can't pay back all the refunds. Oops.

At least that's how I'd have done it...

Hey everyone, don't fall for this crap Pamd and BubbaDumb are spewing. Pamd is asking $650. They are going for $450 to $500 on ebay right now. The funny thing is if she or BubbaDip really had one, they could sell that thing to anyone in earshot. One last thing. Don't give up hope. I found a local store that had one today! They can be found. You just have to be dilligent. Now, Let's get our money from PayPal. They are the goal at this point. Don't get ripped off again.
