Sheesh... when I looked this afternoon there were 4 negs as the most recent feedback. I just went to show DH and now those 4 negs are on page 5 of his feedback.

So I went back to look for yesterday's feedback... that is on page 9! He got 8+ pages of feedback just today! Now that's impressive!

Ebay takes 2 to 3 months to disqualify a powerseller. This id will probably die as soon as they do. Bookmark the items being sold and I bet they reincarnate as soon as this Id gets Narued.

None of the smart Alecs here know what the items are costing the seller so all statistics are irrelevant since $435K in sales can result in any amonut of losses. If you want to see how this works just take a look at Amazon. They had $millions in sales and was losing $9 on every sale.

I don't understand - you think people will stop buying when they aren't powersellers anymore? I took the powerseller logo off my auctions and am doing just as good without it.

Why would they become NARU'd?

Material: Solid 10K Gold

Weight: Approximately weighs 3.6 Grams.

List Price: $1,500.00

(oh please! let me know when they start dropping $1,500 diamonds in a 10K gold ring. All .25 carats of diamonds at that!)

"The Diamonds that align the Ring are Simply too Gorgeous for words to describe. The Item is Breathtakingly Superb in its design, creation, and style. Surprise your friends with this jaw dropping Ring today. The Diamonds will represent Class, Luxury & Fashion"

I couldn't sleep at night if that were me telling that big of a whopper!

Don't you just know what these "diamonds" look like in person?

However I do like the rollover feature of the pictures!

Do not think that the "problem" is the jewelry they sell. This seller seems to be doing very well.

What I do notice is the trash bidders who want everything for next to nothing and are to stupid to read the size or any info given.
The feedback some have left is just plain brain dead!

There is nothing that I can see where the seller is misleading anyone. A bit of common sense should kick in if one thinks they are going to get a "rock" for $3.99...DUH!

horsey88, ebay doesn't nuke your ID when you lose your PS status.

I think the newbies will soon find out that they should read before bidding and perhaps check out other auctions and compare. It may take them a few lessons before they realize that most jewelry items are shown larger than the actual piece.

This is not much different than the mail order catalogues. Much of the jewelry is enhanced there also with super write-ups and pictures and it has always been that way.

If you check out the negatives in anyone's auctions you will find that the majority are not justified and are given for silly reasons. Sellers here complain about that all the time. This person is selling items that draw the whiners.

Horsey - read thru an entire auction again... this seller is a manuafacturer and considering the turn around time on fuillfillment, I'm betting Asian based with small operation in New York. Their costs are minimal.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Where did I say that Ebay will Naru the seller. I said disqualify the Powerseller, from the program. The seller will probably NARU themselves, yes that's possible. They will restart their selling under a new id whenever their negs starts affecting their business or they lose their powerseller logo, whichever comes first.
In the past some of these type of sellers have built up high volume sales by selling at cost or slightly above and then just stop shipping. Does Liquidation Universe come to mind ??
Remember Returnbuy an Ebay affiliate who was going to reinvent the universe. Well after 76,000 feedbacks with 1642 negatives they declared bankruptcy. Their new owners were going to reinvent the universe for a second time and only lasted about 2 months. They had $$$multimillion in sales on Ebay on all 3 of their IDs and still couldn't one single dollar on Ebay.

I did check the negatives most said that the delivery was slow or non-existent after 3 months.

Fluffy;

For quick looks like this, I use Deep Analysis...I also use a proprietary logarithmic program for more detailed analysis of keywords, seller's history, etc..

As to some other points made here:

The feedback system on eBay is a vestigial structure of their early, "we are family", "community", glorified flea-market beginnings. It assumed, rather naively, a quid-pro-quo, hale fellow..well met atmosphere that doesn't work in a neighborhood of millions of bidders and transactions....Its like applying Marquess of Queensbury rules to a knife fight...this is big business now and it ain't pretty....
But the feedback system, being so entirely open ended, with no arbitration or redress, needs to change....
Ezra is doing $435K per month and avg. $27 per sale...Knowing what I know of jewelry such as his, he ain't losing money...Go to Bidz.com...call it what you will, but it is arguably the second most successful(re profitable) auction venue...and they do the same thing as Ez...they sell low-end jewelry, describe it with the same breathless hyperbole...the only difference is that they own the site...and you can forget about feedback...jewelry is fundamentally a triple keystone item...one of the few mass market items that hasn't been commoditized by the big box discounters...and as such, it presents a very attractive opportunity.
What is also very remarkable is that the fundamentals of ebay's commercial model have proven so dynamic..that here we are less than 10 years later and the glorified cooperative has ballooned into the commercial engine that it is...and Ez and other's like him, are showing how big money can be made....
There's just nothing in my experience to compare with being able to track my competitors day-by-day sales, what he's selling, to whom he's selling, how much he's selling like I can by the public nature of eBay transaction histories.
Its something for which I am very grateful.

Those insurance terms are amazing. I am sure that he is just charging an extra $2 for every item and keeping the money. Then when someone says they lost an item he just sends them another one.

$2 x 15830 sales means an extra $31,660 a month pocketed. Simply amazing.

I could live off that much. I need to sell a million $1 items and charge for insurance.

I just found a software program that helps you pull up the negs and neutrals. It's free.

Thanks, Gifts!

I wish Ebay would just make the negs and neuts clickable links so you can weed through all the others.

I think overall this seller has amazing volume and it's true that they attract the bottom feeders. They could weed out most of the dweebs by starting the auctions at $2.00...LOL!

If it's of the same quality as the rest of the "Team Red Line" software, don't waste your time. Even free has a cost associated with it.

I actually paid good money for one of their programs. Never again.

I doubt that Ezra is a manufacturer. My guess is a jobber working 47th street in NYC. Sells low carat gold which is no big deal. Size complaints mean nothing as most buyers do not know millimeter sizes and will always have something to say about size not being accurate when it is. Shipping time is the main drawback I see. Probably has no idea what's really in stock and frequently oversells then tries to fill order if they can.

Insurance is definitely profitable.

Also wonder percent of non-pays and number of returns. Probably quite high as that goes with the territory in jewelry.

All that glitters is not....

No kidding. Some of my customers use this formula for sizing: "I want to send the ring back because it is too small. I tried it on my little finger, which I know takes a size 5 because my sister's mother-in-law once let me try on her diamond ring and that couldn't be more than a 5 because the diamonds are so small. So I'm sending it back."

It's real simple, hon. I have a ring sizer. You don't.

You lose.

The favorable combining of all auction wins in a one week period must be one of the reasons for the repeat buyers. Imagine if Bidz.com allowed combining? Instead they charge $6.95 per item no matter what. 10 items = $69.50 s/h. ( for 10 small jewelry items )

I've often wondered about this with those high-volume sellers. Do they know what they have in stock or do they have a short re-order time with their suppliers?

I don't do high volume such as this guy but I have 3 suppliers that I can order from on Monday and recieve my shipment on Wednesday and another here in town that I can be at their wherehouse in 15 minutes. Sure makes things easier when testing the popularity of items.
