okay I miss read what you said,I thought you got it in 2 days-my apologies. So I assume you have bought these in the past on ebay, what does the shipping usually cost?
I have the smaller Hp cartridges and I know some people still charge between 5-10 dollars to ship-and still ship them MM.
Also these guys are paying someone to pack and ship,so they have to take their wages into account.I see they have a 100 percent feedback,so I assume most people are happy with them.I can tell you that no matter what I buy on ebay,I always look at the shipping and assume they are going to ship the cheapest way possbile, that way Im not upset if they ship it MM.

Granted they should have not shipped by MM.
BUT
You did not ask any questions, as to the method of how it was going to be shipped, you assumedand you assumed wrong.
it does say... If you want to upgrade on shipping ect ect.
I learned along time ago, to ask question before I bid.... No matter what is stated in the listing ad.
Exact shipping to some, is $3-$5 overwhat the shipping cost is !!!!If I am buying a fragile item, I have no problem paying some extra..Packing supplies cost money.
I just shipped a guy a glass candle with glass lid and a ceramic coffee mug, quoted shipping & Handling amt came to $2.00 more then USPS sticker said...The guy went nuts on me !!!! I guess I should have just put them in a box and kissed it good buy and prayed that they would make it okay ??? I do that even when I bubble wrap them and place cardboard holders around them,{so they don't bang together} and then in the box and it is like they are doubled boxed....some buyers need to get a life.

I'm NOT QUESTIONING how much it cost to ship!
It is a rather larger and heavier item. It is NOT an Ink Cartridge, it is a big laser cartridge!
The $10.00 was within reason. I KNOW tape, boxes, packing materials cost money. Heck, they even said it was insured without me having to pay for it. You're right...that did lead me to "assume" it was via FedEx or UPS.
They even mentioned Priority Mail.
But DON"T ship me hard goods media mail! I am offended by that when the rest of us risk having our Media Mail packages ripped open by the PO.
I don't mind a used box. I don't mind a lot of things. But bragging that you "don't make money off of shipping" in great big bold type (he might as well had those dancing .gifs around that part - LOOK AT THEIR AD) when you are ripping off the Post Office like that, and me for that matter.
I do NOT believe it was a "mistake". They said on the phone they sell other things. They might, but nowhere do I have evidence that they sell printer manuals. All they list on Ebay is printer cartridges - LASER.

GG, Complaining to Endicia is pointless. Just turn him into the PO and let them harass him. He'll get the point when 90% of his MM starts getting checked at the bulk distribution center.
The real issue here is his abuse of Media Mail.
And yes, I feel a little ticked when I pay priority rates and recieve the item by parcel post but what is the diffence when they quote priority rates and ship by Fedex which is half price on larger items?? I don't mind that one because I reieve my item in a timely matter.
The guy was asking for someone to knock him a little when he whined about his shipping costs in his TOS. Customers could careless about his costs. They are only worried about THEIR costs.

I don't CARE if I pay Priority Mail rates and receive it parcel post. I DO care when he blatantly (blatent? whatever) brags about not making money on shipping and turns around and ships it MEDIA MAIL. That is an offense to us all.
I'm not turning him into the PO. If Harry cuts off his account so be it.

OK, I agree that using Media rate for non-Media rate items is a no-no. The seller should have used Parcel post rate, which takes about the same amount of time in delivery. Complain to the seller and then report them to the post office if you are incensed by the misuse.
What I don't get is being upset because they made a profit on the shipping, whether they state they don't or not. They were upfront about how much they charge for shipping, and you agreed to pay that amount. They were also upfront that the charge was for ground rate and you agreed to that, too. If someone says "ground rate," UPS or Fedex & faster shipping do not come to mind no matter how much they are charging.

Yes I did read that and what did that package actually cost to mail? They said they had one employee to ship and something about an hour. Well if it takes one person to package 1 item an hour then there is something wrong. They make money on S/H there is no doubt about it and maybe give that seller a neutral and mention that in your feedback for them. You didn't get the service that they said they gave, over priced shipping because they took the cheap way out.
they also state they pay for Delivery confirmation and that costs only 13 cents if you take it from the USPS shipping assistant.

So if you had never used Endicia before, would you of known it was shipped media mail?
OT just a note if you are using HP Laser printers and are still under warranty, you best be keeping HP toner cartridges in them, or HP will not support you for print quality problems...

The implication I get from the auction is that the standard shipping would be parcel post or UPS or Fedex Ground because this item legally does not qualify as media mail.
It does appear that the PO is still only checking the media mail regionally. Around here, you still have to go in with your media mail packages unsealed for inspection because of that type of fraud. One has to wonder how long until it is truely a nationwide standard.

I doubt that would ever happen on a regular basic--the backlog of customers at every post office would be mind-boggling.

You can't be that angry, they still have 100% perfect feedback. You have a forum for informing your fellow eBayers of you dissatisfaction, but instead you come to Vendio community and vent.

I'm curious. You said:
"Interestingly enough the phone just rang and it was a guy with that company and he said that he "caught the mistake" since the package hadn't gone out yet, and he's having it shipped FedEx.
His excuse was that it got mixed in with some other packages that were media mail."
Did you call him first to register a complaint about the MM shipping, or did he call you first? If he sells printer manuals, too (and I don't see why these would have to be listed on eBay--maybe he has a website?), I can see how a shipping mistake could occur, especially if an employee is responsible for packing and shipping.

Fanatical Customer Service after the order (Toll Free# 888-465-9222)
I called their Fanatical Customer service after I got two emails saying my order had been shipped via Media mail.
Ring.......
"yello"
"Excuse me, is this the printer cartridge office?"
"Yep"
"Well I just received an email saying that you had shipped my printer laser cartridge media mail?"
"Yes?"
"That's illegal to ship that Media Mail!"
"Well I'm not in the shipping department so I can't tell you how they shipped it."
"Right."
"So uh, you like WORK for the Post Office?"
"No but I'm fixing to. I'm sure Harry at Endicia will be interested in hearing how you ship out laser cartridges media mail."

Ring
"Hello?"
"Is this Laura?"
"Yes?"
"You just called about your printer cartridge and I just wanted to tell you that your order got mixed in with some other things and that I caught it before it went out and it will be shipped out to you today by FedEx."
"OK thanks"

Guess WHAT?
Today is Tuesday the 24th. They sent me the FedEx tracking number on the 19th, right?
It doesn't show up in the system. So I just got off the phone with FedEx. You know WHEN it went out?
Yesterday, the 23rd.
I bought and paid for this on the 17th.
It is due to be delivered on the 1st of March.
I just left negative feedback.
Yes I called them. He said "oh you're one of those people that run out before you order another one." "well we can ship you one out Priority Mail and you will have it in two days". "our shop moved last week and everything is in shambles." "Ebay allows 14 days for you to get this"
I only wish I had more spaces to write in that negative feedback box.

So, you're getting the cartridge and a refund, and you still left a neg?? Seems like they did make the effort to make things right in the end, and 7 days to ship, while a little longer than usual, isn't extremely bad. You could leave a follow up comment when you receive the cartridge that the problem was worked out--seems like that would be the right thing to do.
