Tutam, actually, I was asking for a sincere answer. I appreciate your attempt at humor, though.

Yeah, if ya can get a call through to paypal. I've tried for almost 2 weeks on my lunch hour and evenings, and I can't even get anything but bad elevator music, and sometimes they just say call back later. This is unreal.

Big_b. Paypaldamon has stated several times and I heard the same thing from their cusotmer service, Everybody who paid Gametek through Paypal will get there money refunded. I would guess that means even if you did not fill out a fraud report.

why are you going to the further expense of tracing the money order?? just file the police report on the Fountain Valley Police website and let them take care of it.

You won't get your money any sooner if you know when it was cashed, the funds are frozen

I am getting the information incasase there needs to be proof of payment. I dont know if we are going to et our $$ if we paid by money order. Just imagine all the people that ordered and did not pay and that are going to lie and say thart they paid.... I will be sending the trace today to get a copy of the cashed money order. I have a copy of ythe invoices with the invoices already. I just want my 699.98 as soon as it is available to me.

what did you find out about the trace?
Whatever you find post it. i'm going to do the same today also. I'd rather spend $12 on a trace than lose 349.99 anytime.

did you go to the place you bought the money order, or use the trace on the back of the money order receipt?

Just to let everyone know, I have been issued a full refund of $334.99 from Paypal on 12/15; did not post until 12/21. But hey, I got it back. I spoke to a Jennifer at Paypal (sorry, cannot remeber the ph#); I'll try to get it. It was a direct line. She had my refund issued within 5 mins. of talking to me. Goodluck everyone.

hey everyone, I did pay, my check did not get cashed, I begged and pleaded with the bank to pull it, they did somewhat but could not officially give me back the funds until 12.15.00 because that was exactly 30 days from point of issuance. I understand what vb6josh is saying. I will not and would not say that I required a refund because I was one of the very few who got my money refunded back due to mine was not cashed. I would hope anyone who did - would not try and get a double refund. That strikes me as being as bad as what Gametek did to us. Look at all the hate, discontent and misery. For christs sake I want the pot that is left with any money in it that Tam Tu and his cohorts did not spend to go back to those who deserve it. That is how I feel, and when I am questioned I am not going to try and get back what wasn't due to me. I would venture to guess you will have to prove yours was cashed or they will go about proving it for you before refunding, at least that would be what I would require before refunding the victims to prevent those who did receive refunds from trying to double their returns. Anyway just my thoughts...I think this is a terrible thing to happen at XMAS...geez you know.

well my money order was cashed, and the money box operator did not quite understand the situation. She kept saying, contact the people you sent the payment to. Easy for her, i guess she wanted me to call the easter bunny next being that i would have a better chance contacting the easter bunny than getting my 349.99 back.
Any suggestions?

tutam, your bad manners are only exceeded by your bad manners.
Loudog - I would think where you got the money ordered issued you should go there and tell them it was a fraud and you lost your money. Take the fountainvalley/gametek police report printout with you as backing evidence. They should have some sort of way for you to file a complaint of fraud or a way for you to request information or an investigation or proof of when and where it was cashed (evidence). You will need to use this later as proof you paid and lost. IT will be a while o.k.? but collect information. File a report with the better business bureau online and also with the http://www.fountainvalley.org/gametek here. Once they convict they can release funds and it will have to be determined a) if there is enough funds to cover all PROOF of claims and b) if not they will determine a percentage in lieu of 100%. Not sure at this point. I hope you get it all back but it may be a long time before you do. Something like 6 months (not sure). K

Ahhh, the incredibly wise tutam at it again. A person with the IQ of pig droppings making comments worth even less. Auctionwatch Moderators, you are as big of a joke as he is for letting this moron taunt people with his childish, "weak attempt at a life" comments. As for me, I also have finally been refunded. It appears Paypal is working to resolve this issue and I commend them for it (though still confused by their refusal to respond to correspondance ). Keep working to discover what you can but the refunds are legitimatly happening. Hopefully the rest of you will have the same good fortune. It was also a nice Christmas present to be able to slam Tutam at the same time I was reporting this. Good Luck to all of you.

hi! and i agree with hammer1961 we were threatened about posting things like that on here and then you let this -----,------,-----,----- idiot say things like that and if the truth was known he probably didnt even have an order if he did he would have a little bit of consideration for the rest of us.... but reading some of the remarks he has made he seems to be brain dead if you know what i mean!!!! and there is a new posting on the fountainvalley/gametek site as of dec.18 and it says those of us who paid with check/monet oder will have to wait until they convict them for this crime and then we will get a refund.. so we might have the money for xmas presents next year!!! and im glad for those of you who did pay /paypal and are actually geting your money back. so merry xmas to everyone and have a happy new year!!!!! except tutam

Hello, Zazzie,
do you or anyone have any idea on how they are going to refund the Money to the people who paid by money order? I still have my hopes up for getting my refund. Also Where are the people that scammed us....

This is the worst christmas ever with ps2cart acting like the GRINCH. I have never once been scammed over the internet, not even on ebay. I have been feeling down these last few weeks... $700 is a big amount for me for the 2 ps2s. I am wishing to get it all back and get this weight off my back.

I guess we have to take this 1 day at a time untill there is a resolution.

I was planing to order alot from them. I sent them an email asking that if I bought 20 psx2s if I would get 1 for free.
They replied within 10 minutes..... Sorry but ithey have to come from different people. Something was odd, if they where scamming people I wonder why they didnt as me to just send the money in. I am sure that they would of loved it if I paid for 20 Playstations.

Thanks,
Josh

Just think how down you would be if you had ordered those 20 other PS2's. LOL. The only reason you would have got that many is so you cold scalp them on ebay....you got what you deserved.

I can;t help but think tutam is part of Ps2Cart. Also, you are a selfish, cruel ass, so you must be a man. You said you got your money back, so get on out of here and leave the rest of us that are still ripped off a place to talk and get info without your bigass whiney comments.

V6B--I have no idea when you will be able to get your money back. I myself did not purchase a unit---but this story is so heartbreaking that I have been following it.
But you are right----The GRINCH is alive and well

I can only imagine what it would have been like to believe you had Christmas taken care of and how exited your family would have been to have one under the tree---and to have it suddenly blow up in your face. My heart goes out to each of buyers here and shame on any other place or person who took the money and didn't deliver.

Just remember that your heart was in the right place and you trusted these people---and try to find some good in the experience. There was a person who wrote on this board about her son comforting her and telling her that it wasn't important what was under the tree and how much that meant to her. Puts things in perspective.

I will be thinking of all of you on Christmas morning--hoping that your hearts find a way to enjoy all it has to offer even though someone did their best to steal it from you. Don't let them steal the feeling even though they tried to steal your money--they will have won if you let them do that.

The GRINCH is alive and well

Fraud is no different than rainwater. It will flow wherever it can. There's nothing unique about Christmas, fraud pressure exists all the time.

Successful defense to fraud is based on two questions:

1. Does this situation make sense.
2. If I guess wrong, will the results be really bad.

with admittedly a bit of hindsight, ps2cart didn't pass the first test. Where would some unknown "company" get PS2's which major retailers couldn't get?

sg52----I think fraud hurts just so much more at this time of year---especially when so many of you were just trying to get a gift to your children.

and please folks---now is not the time for lectures about how kids shouldn't get everything they want---another time--Okay!!!

I have deleted your post because the comments in French are insulting and unacceptable in any language. As has been pointed out several times already in this thread, I suggest you revise the AW Community Guidelines before posting again. And stick to English.

No more insults please. Last time we will ask, folks or this discussion will be closed.

Hey everyone, after XMAS, I personally would love to hear stories on those getting their money back...also as usual I do disagree with tutams posting that the person who wanted to buy 20 ps2's as getting what they deserve...this is wrong. If someone legitimately wants to make a business out of cornering a bonfide market in ps2s and has the guts and wherewithall to go about acquiring and selling these items in a LEGITIMATE way. There is nothing wrong with that. That is the capitalism way. Hey you know, all I wanted was a ps2, I was willing to pay a little more. If someone can get it for me and I have to pay them a little more. Then that is my choice and may possibly be my business. But IN NO WAY DID ANYONE DESERVE to get ripped off. That is not american or setting anything right and that is not legitimate business practices...it is downright criminal...and I hope they go away for a long long time, I hope they are small men and get put in the pen - they are the only ones who deserve to get back what they have given...would love to hear more stories about refunds...would love everyone to get their money back in 100%...here's hoping...!!!

Nothing new, I'm still calling PayPal weekly they keep telling me that they note my account for manager to respond. This is the 3rd week and still no responce. Whats up with that? You would think they ( PayPal ) would at least post something on their site addressing this PS2Cart issue.
I've also called there Business line, Spoke to a Terri, Guess what! No help there either.
I think Its time to contact the BBB, and have PayPal investigated. Might as well call the DA to. Still waiting for refund or some type of responce.

Today's Dec 28th, Where is PayPal.
We can't even depend on a Pal, whats this world coming to? 10 day after the DA's decision, has anyone heard from Paypal?

12-18-00 1730 hrs (Update)
On Friday, 12-15-00, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office authorized money to be returned to those who paid via PayPal. PayPal is currently working on a process to deal with the refunds. They should have it in place in a few days. If you paid using PayPal, they will contact you directly. As for those people who paid via check or money order, you will have to wait awhile until this case is adjudicated as accounts can not be accessed by law enforcement until that time.
