C'mon!!!
I just did a search and scan around and I am astounded at how FEW of the auctions have the Paydirect logo next to them. I thought it would be 1/2 at least!
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! What's the problem here?
I see a large percentage of "featured" auctions accept paydirect, but 3 pages in and it is pitiful.
Who is not signed up, and why????
Paydirect makes us look good. It will bring people to Yahoo.. Think about it.

Hello,

I can't use PayDirect because I am a Canadian. I do have a wallet with Yahoo but PayDirect is not available in Canada just like PayPal. I wish I could though.

VeryModern, I must admit that I had not signed up with PayDirect because I expected a hassle, with forms and Social Security numbers and all kinds of things.

I have a Yahoo Wallet. I had to enter three numbers and click "I accept."

It's done. I'm in.

I'm certainly pushing PayDirect now that PayPal has mandated a commitment. Also, I've removed all PayPal banners and started my winning auction heading with "I accept Yahoo PayDirect and PayPal transactions...blah, blah, blah. I'm also sending out the Yahoo PayDirect invoice and following with the other options email.

Although, I do realize that Yahoo may have a master plan, same as PayPal.

I got paid by PayDirect for 3 EBAY auctions today!!!!!! I have a feeling it only happened because I recommended PAyDirect to them- they wanted to pay by PAyPAl, but I don't accept it- never have & at this point have no good reason to.

More & more of my Yahoo customers are using PayDirect as well.

I DO wish more sellers would accept it. I pay for most of my auctions with a postal money order, which isn't a problem considering how often I'm at the post office. But if 2 sellers have the same item & only one of them accepts PAyDirect, I'm going with the one who accepts PayDirect for sure!

I accept Yahoo PayDirect. I haven't had anyone use it yet, but I DO accept it and I am pushing that and Exchangepath now that PayPal is in a time of flux.

I view it like Ebay--I put all my eggs in one basket and now I find I need to find some other baskets to strengthen my position.

Forgot to add that 90% of my sales on Yahoo have been paid using PayPal, so I REALLY hope that PayDirect or something else catches on and quickly! This could really hurt!

VM--ow ow ow! I was hoping Pay Direct would really catch on! Well, I haven't actually closed my PayPal account and won't until they get some concrete rules so I know what the heck is happening for sure and where I stand.
I have removed the PayPal logos and inserted the exchangepath logo and PayDirect ads and stated that until PayPal's recent announcements are clarified, I prefer not to use them. I may have to back off on the PayPal thing if bidding is really off--which it is, but can't be because of the PayPal thing because most of my ads still have the PayPal thing in until they expire.

I am signed up. But I've only received one $3.70 payment so far and the buyer had fits getting it to work.

I signed up for PayDirect as soon as it was available, but had only had one payment until last week, when I had two more....but PayDirect didn't send me emails telling me the money was there. The second buyer last week emailed, saying he'd used PayDirect. That's when I signed in and found his payment, and the payment from the buyer who HADN'T emailed to say he'd paid me.

When I tried to "accept" one of the two payments, I got an "ERROR 218: transaction denied, contact customer service" message, which I did. I told the bidder there was a problem and HE contacted customer service. I wrote again the next day, but PayDirect never wrote back. I went ahead and mailed his purchase, hoping the problem wasn't a denial by his credit card company.

Two days later the "problem" was fixed and I "accepted" the payment. Yahoo never wrote back to either of us about it.

To tell you the truth, I'm almost AFRAID now that a buyer will tell me they used PayDirect to pay me. I don't need the hassle, and I've never had any problems in my dealings with PayPal (aside from buyers misspelling my email address).

I signed up for ExchangePath, too, but their LOGO to put in auction listings doesn't have a REFERRAL LINK in it that I can see (not like PayPal's does). I'm not going to put their logo in my auctions if I don't get the referral BONUS when customers sign up. (All I've found on their site so far is an email to send to "friends" that contains the referral link. If you find a referral logo, please post it here.)

My end-of-auction email is starting to look like a legal form....which shipping rate for which country for which price, sales tax for these, insurance for those, four "mail-it-to-me" payment methods, I-Escrow and BidPay, two requests for the item name/number and the buyer's address with their payment (which is STILL "overlooked" by some), and now FOUR credit card payment services (and which credit/debit/bank transfer cards they accept), plus who is offering how much in sign-up bonuses and the referral links to them......

I sent one to myself to test the referral "links" in it (PayPal and ExchangePath), and was alarmed at how it's GROWN in the last 9 months. Partly from all the choices of new ways in which to pay me, but also as a result of a few tightwad buyers I've had who think $3.00 shipping will STILL get them priority mail (and who think I'll cover the packaging materials, insurance and sales tax out of my "profits".

I used to like the postal money orders like CAgrrl does, but not anymore. I bought the SimplyPostage Promail unit less than two weeks ago, ordered U-Pic insurance stamps, and I'm FREE OF STANDING IN LINE AT THE POST OFFICE to mail packages!!! I'm not about to get in line to cash a money order!!!!!!!!!!

Psst! is Paydirect's charging any fees?

no fees.
They state that they may in the future, but be advised that this is generic, and what they say about auctions and every other thing on their site, and we are still riding free.

I don't think you will see them follow they same path as the others, it is not their nature historically.

"I don't think you will see them follow they same path as the others, it is not their nature historically."

Even so, if they DID decide to charge, but were honest about the charges I could handle that.

I really HATE having a company state NO FLAT FEES and then impose flat fees.

THEN, as if that wasn't enough, they stated that they were just passing along their actual costs for credit card processing, yet they are imposing the fees on EVERY transaction, be it from a credit card, checking account or just between two PP accounts.

I still have not seen an answer to my question about why they are charging for non credit card related transactions...

Something STINKS!

Anyway, I would hope that Yahoo and every other money transfer service, would watch and take really GOOD notes on how NOT to start charging fees!

Sorry, need coffee--still a bit cranky this morning.

I don't know the details about PayDirect but if they are like ePay's Billpoint, then you are accepting all the liability of a merchant dealing with the Credit card companys directly.

There is a huge article in the Wall Street Journal Tuesday about Credit card fraud in on-line purchases.

The nitty gritty is that unless you have a signature and proof of delivery acceptance, you are liable for chargebacks whether the card was stolen or whether the true owner denies charging or getting the shipment.

The signature part is impracticle for Internet transactions so far, so it looks like a real bad idea getting involved in this unless you are doing so well you can accept 2% chargebacks. Or if you are selling inexpensive items, that might not be of interest to the crooks.

My understanding of the PAyDirect agreement is that it is like PAyPal's USED to be before the "verified" crap happened- no chargebacks. I don't know much about law & what the real truth is legally, so I could be wrong.

For me it doesn't matter, I have an open return policy. I'd do anything to avoid a dis-satisfied customer, & I allow returns for pretty much any reason as long as the customer contacts me right away to let me know they want to return their item. I also don't see my teeny tiny $5-$20 items attracting much attention from con-artists. So I feel completely comfortable with using the service.

I really like the ability to transfer payments received TO your credit card. Very cool.

I was a bit suprised to learn that my credit card company did not consider this a "payment", so even though I had paid far more than my minimum payment (and almost paid off my balance!) using Paydirect, I still had to send in at least the minimum payment via snail mail.

Still a neat option, though.

I had it enabled on my auctions, then the last 3 that were won, I got an invalid email address on everyone that I tried to send an invoice to. I told the buyers to try from their end, not one has had any success.
It comes off from now on.
