I suspect that Walmart will use the China market to find cheaper supplies for US stores. It can put tremendous pressure on the suppliers: "If you don't reduce prices, then not only do you lose the China market but also the US one. Take it or leave it."

The virtues of capitalism!

Walmart used to use a third party in HK to source and deal with Chinese suppliers, that HK company also have an office in Arkansas right next to Walmart headquarter.
All that has changed several years ago,Walmart has decided to do it inhouse,it hired a few employess from the HK company and now it is all done by Walmart, dealing direct with China.

Thanks Stop,

I think that people should watch the Frontline documentary that's coming on the local PBS stations.

This was the Fluffball version. He had unlimited access to facilities and asked questions that were absolutely barely journalism.

I used to teach media literacy, this was basically an infomercial.

Reporter, LMAO!!!

I just wonder who Wal Mat is paying for the Press. Friday the CNBC Special, Saturday was the Wal-Mart Biography on A&E (Wal-Mart, not Sam Walton) and now the Frontline Special. The publicists are earning their money this week! How funny that is is right before XMAS!

What's more interesting, this fluff piece comes on just before the Frontline piece.

Chew on that one. Uh huh. Yup.

The dogs of war march onward.

Looks like hell to work for, all those cameras on the ceiling.

Sam Walton American Hero...Not. Daddy Dumbya all weepy. Puke..

I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in AZ, I was seeing commercials with people, primarily black people supposedly from CAlifornia, talking about how Wal Mart had saved their community. How Wal Mart was a good neighbor. How Wal Mart provided jobs for the p eople - etc.----

Japerton, your line is pretty good about the Evangelicals. Although, the leaders of the big organizations are anything but naive. They expect to get school vouchers passed and faith based initiatives, and they expect to pull in tons of money from the people who watch them on TV. I do think a lot of the followers have been duped and have made a pack with the devil. The PResident just talking about it made some people absolutely giddy and they are willing to overlook the slaughter of American soldiers and the innocents in Iraq as long as someone 'talks their talk'.

Think about it, millions of people send billions of dollars to those people on TV who stand there dripping with diamonds, bragging about how much money and property they have and when they ask working people for their hard earned money, the people send it in!!!

Politicians could take a lesson from the TV Evangelists - wait, maybe they just did!!

I watched the CNBC show last night. I *do not like those Walmart executives.* There's something a little creepy (and greedy???) about them.

People from China probably don't buy the same junk we get from them. They probably make better grade stuff for themselves.
