After one month, I figure my ST rate at about 10%, just where I expected it to be...
So why continue to pay stupid LISTING FEES??
Especially with their SCREWY HTML wackiness:
If I do a RELIST & try to change the CATEGORY, the page change ERASES MY HTML!
They must have hired some hamsters from feeBay...
Think all my OS FRIENDS will miss tomandralphie???
Think we CARE???

I noticed all the "friends" stopped after the $50000 was rewarded. It also looks like auctions listing count is going down.
I sold 2 things off of there but listed close to 40 total.
Ebay is starting to pick up and my Vendio store is doing good. I'll stick with that for now.

Tis a shame, as I think they could have exploded...
But the listing is a true PITA, and the "FRIENDS" kaka is becoming annoying
Ya feel ya have to respond or you'll hurt someone's feelings???
I'm ready to start having Ralphie take over that with his typical response of:
"Eat **** & bark at the MOON..."

I listed the first week and sold.
Second week nothing.
Third week nothing.
Moved On!
Forget about them for a while, check back now and again to see if any changes.
Suspect them to be like all the rest.
Good at first then fizzle out.

And...
The place ain't cheap:
I've spent approximately $35 so far for:
FIVE SALES total of $120.95 GROSS...
but...only TWO have paid a GRAND TOTAL of $36.98 GROSS...
OTOH: the past 48hrs in Ralphie's feeBay STORE & AUCTIONS has coughed up around $700...
Yes, they be elephant compared to maggot, but OS has to GROW INTO LISTING FEES if they want to generate LOYALTY...

I have to admit that at first the site did look very promising and their name recognition was a huge plus. But with all of the major glitches in the system, it is very hard to keep listing items when there doesn't seem to be anything being done to correct them. The customer service is there, but seems to be more like lip service and instead of I will make the correction to our system service. I simply cannot justify listing there anymore until there are many changes made to the system.
1) Fix the shipping box. I sell mostly items that weigh well over 5 pounds so I rely upon zip codes to determine shipping amounts. The system defaults to zero and sends an invoice stating that shipping is free to the buyer. THIS MUST GO. Change it to see the seller for shipping amount.
2) A non-paying bidder system must be put in place. Right now it is a deadbeats bidders paradise with no recourse for the seller except to try and contact customer service and wait.
3) Repair the revise an auction so you do not get charged again for the same auction.
I will probably think of a few more, but those are the three major things.
Also, not sure why so many others are having trouble with their HTML at overstock. I use HTML as well and have never had a problem yet.

Those are all sellers complaints. But you ain't sell'n cause the buyers can't find your stuff.
No matter how many problems they fix, they won't sell until they fix the SEARCH!

Well...I'm selling a bunch of smaller stuff which would NEVER sell (and never did) over at eBay because it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack (unless I were to submit to doing "L@@K! NO RESERVE!! WOW!! L@@KL HERE!"--- Which I hate.
I'm make a few bucks and cleaning out my "junk" box of non-eBay seller items.
Better than a kick in the face.

I was encouraged at the number of hits until I realize that the "hits" were from other sellers who want to be my "friend". I didn't sell a thing.

I had trouble with the Search there. I typed in keywords in specific categories and came up with all sorts of stuff that had no resemblance to what I was looking for. The titles did not contain any of my keywords and the "objects" could be anything. Decided I was wasting a lot of time and gave up.

it seems that certain categories people like to just go down the list and find what they like,it could be jewelry is one of those categories.

Basic listing fees:
eBay Auctions - 30 cents
Overstock Auctions - 20 cents
Amazon Auctions - 10 cents
Yahoo Auctions - 5 cents
I wish eBay's fees were less, but they don't have any competition.

The first time I listed ten items, sold all ten. The next time I sold half of what I listed and most of those turned out to be deadbeats,I think I'll throw a bunch back on Amazon and let them mold there for awhile.

Here's another way to curry the love of your sellers....
Just got an email regarding new items that they have added to their "prohibited list". No big deal, I don't sell on the items and I don't sell on OS but this part caught my attention....
Auctions containing these items that are posted on or after November 11, 2004 will be removed from the site. Sellers whose items have been removed are still responsible for any associated listing fees.
In oither words... we know that you listed items that were allowed at the time but we decided we don't like them so are disallowing them, canceling your auctions, oh and by the way... we'll be keeping your money too.

As usual, Fenix has it all wrong. What they are stating is if you post one of the prohibited auctions beginning today, they will boot it. Not auctions listed before today. And I find it to be a good thing that the loser that is listing prohibited items is going to lose their listing fees. They should be penalized for posting such garbage.
It is still too bad they have so many other bugs to work out. It is clear they are putting the proper rules in place for a good site, just the site itself has too many faults.

Stone - anyone who listed today got their auctions canceled and no fees refunded. So how was my statement incorrect? You really are desperate aren't you?
Have a nice day.
