Hi all,
Sanmar, I'm here. Been busy lately. My son's three kids are here for Christmas vacation.
Took 9 YO Connor to Uncle Tom's Toys today so he could pick out a present for his December 18th birthday. He wanted Lego Bionicles. There were six in the series he was looking at. He was having one heck of a time deciding... My Mom and I let him stew for quite a while, then we told him he could buy all six! That was one VERY happy birthday boy!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hard as I have tried to stay away from these boards, I must admit I'm addicted. Thank you to everyone who has made life easier for me and even those who seem to get great pleasure from giving me a hard time - CLASSIC. LOL! Your insight and kindness are unmatched on any messaged board.
Here's to a more profitable, peaceful and joyful 2005!
Edited to add: Twelve, if you are lurking out there somewhere, Merry Christmas to you as well!!!!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to all and hoping for a Packers Superbowl Win.
Even though the Eagles are great remember you guys where your coach came from.
Eagles are a great team but by then the Packers should have it together and there will not be a 4 and 27 happen again this year. Please don't quote me though as it just might not happen.
Thanks to all who have contributed to my success on eBay although I am not a power seller I do make enough to enjoy it. To the computer helpers you are a lot better than my tech support. I wish everyone Health and Happiness in 2005

Tom, Ralphie, gina & classic, I'm from PA too. Glen Mills, not too far from Plymouth Meeting & just 3 miles from Delaware.
classic, I saw Jethro Tull at the Spectrum, long time ago. Genesis at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby.
Tom & have talked on VD before about all the good things from the Philadelphia area.
gina, yes, Jacquie Lawson cards are wonderful. First one I ever saw was a Fourth of July card where it starts out as fish, sea shells & keeps evolving until it's the US seal with the American eagle. I think the music was America the Beautiful. WOW, I played it over & over again.
If it's still on her site I wonder if you would send me, or even post it here, A Winter's Waltz where the dogs decorate a snowman to the Minute Waltz. I've never seen it & would love to.
I know I should sign up & maybe I will.
It's a bargain at 8.00

Hi mcjane~ just sent you the e-card!! That one is my favorite too!
Here's another one that I like. Sorry, don't know how to make it clickable.

Nice to know that there are people here that live in the Philly area
Everybody who knows goes to Melrose!! LOL
I saw Journey at JFK Stadium back in the 80's (Frontiers and Beyond) and later, at The Tower!
Shame we have lost so many things like JFK, Wanamakers Christmas Display, Gimble's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Lit Brothers Christmas Display plus so much more.
Happy Holidays

When I was a little kid in Philly, EASTER consisted of getting a new "suit" at Lits (or Robert Hall), buying an Azelia bush for da old lady, & then supper at a restaurant call "Sunken Gardens" --
Same routine for Mother's Day!
Xmas time was beautiful down on Market Street. Shopping, etc...BUT, of course, (I've said it here before) the BESTEST part of shopping DOWNTOWN was:
meeting the old man for dinner at the BESTEST & GREATEST restaurant in the HISTORY of MANKIND:
The Horn&Hardart Automat where I would get SICK on helpings of AMBROSIA known as: Baked Beans (they had an unusual mustard base...)!
Summers, I'd take the trolly & the "L" & meet the old man at his company's parking lot across the street from Coney Mack and catch the losers (Phillies) getting clobbered by EVERYBODY -- we had such "heros" as Ruben Amaro & Chico Fernandez
Philly was a real nice town growing up in the '50's (ye old faht) -- up until Frankie-Boy took over...

Of course, SUMMERS consisted of:
THE JERSEY SHORE
Over the Tacony-Palymyra Bridge & only 1 hr to Ocean City or Atlantic City or, my low-class favorite: Wildwood or wierd & funky: Brigantine
In ATLANTIC CITY, remember THE CHALFONT-HADDON HALL HOTEL (sp?) right on the BOARDWALK? And STEEL PIER with diving HORSES (YES!) and Joe Niagara on the MIKE!
No PIZZA on EARTH tastes quite as FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL as boardwalk PIZZA!

Lol Tom-thanks for the pic-I was wondering where all my old pics went to-thought the wife burned them. I also remember Robin Roberts of the Phillies who one year gave up 50 home runs.He was still a winning pitcher as most of them were with no one on base.I dated a nurse in the late 60's who was from Philly and she tended to a right fielder named Richie Ashburn. He was there as he either broke his leg or ankle.
Hey any you people ever been to Bushkill Falls, Pa? Me and the wife go hiking every year there.

I stayed in Plymouth Meeting this past summer for work. I think it was a Marriott..we were right adjacent to a mall that had a Ben & Jerry's in it '
The King of Prussia Mall is hands down one of the best places I've ever been. I get to go to MN this summer for work where I'll get to go to the Mall of America ~ but until I see that KOPMall is the biggest and best mall I've ever seen!

Oh yeah, WOW The Horn & Hardart
We used to eat there. I have a vintage coffee can that I found at an antique mall.
And let's not forget The Tugger...Tug McGraw
"You Gotta Believe"!! What a smile that guy always had on his face for his fans.
On the way to Cape May ....Al Alberts!
Anyone remember the sad day that WFIL Radio we knew, went off the air and changed formats? We were down at the shore that weekend. Seems to me it was in September of 1977.
"Rockin' In The Cradle of Liberty"
Later, got to take a TastyKake break

gina, thank you so much for sending that card, animals decorating the snowman.
It's as good as I thought it would be & I loved the sugar plum fairy too.
Just found out by reading at her site that the Christmas Cottage is her actual house & was the first card Jacquie Lawson did.
Tom, Gina & Classic & Helga, sure enjoyed reading your memories & I can relate to each & everyone. My favorite eating place too, Horn & Hardart Automat & oooooh those baked beans...to die for. You could buy them at their retail shops, but they didn't taste the same at home, you had to eat them there.
The Automat is no longer, but you can still see it, it's now in the Smithsonian Institute

Merry Christmas to everyone from here in snowy Indiana.
Here's the view from one of my upstairs bedroom windows.
I give up on the picture. It's way too big. Just trust me there's a lot of snow here.
Ok, because classic asked so nicely, here's the picture again (I hope).

I saw that pic a couple of minutes ago,and it was regular size. Then I come back here and its 5 times the size-thought I was having a drug flashback from the 60's.

classic - I never saw regular size. I just saw the red x and then when I edited it I had this huge supersize picture.
But anyway, I think we probably had about 14 or 15 inches of snow here. I have one of those park-like benches in my backyard and the snow is all the way up to the top of the seat.
On a different topic - should your wife be worried? You've mentioned ex-fiance in Evansville many times!
