Um - No - Caddyshack II was a perfect example in my mind why anything with a "II" after it should be given a pretty wide clearance. Hated it.

nycrocker- "Goodfellas" was a comedy? And i suppose you laugh at airplane crashes and little old ladies falling in the street! i know, you were just seeing if we were paying attention, right? p.s.- it did have a few funny scenes, but a comedy-i think not!

nutspec Your right, but once in a blue moon it works. A good example are The Pink Panther Movies, they kept getting better.

Has anyone seen:
Being There
or
The Party
Both starring Peter Sellers.
If you like comedies don't miss either one of these.

I agree with Snowydays: Christmas Vacation!

I also loved What About Bob, Meatballs, and most comedies starring Bill Murray and/or Richard Dreyfus.

One of my all time favorite t.v. skits, that would always give me an asthma attack from laughing too hard, was "Eunice & Momma" on The Carol Burnett Show. I don't like "Mamma's Family" at all, because Eunice and Ed weren't on it. It had to be the original "Eunice & Momma".

Muriel,

Nice to be reminded of "What About Bob", a classic. I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Robert DeNiro's comedic talents are sometimes overlooked. "The King of Comedy", "Mad Dog and Glory", and "Midnight Run" are good examples. I've yet to see "Meet the Parents".

Some foreign films are worth a rental, too. "Les Comperes" with Gerard Depardieu is the funniest French film I've ever seen.

It's gotta be "The Blues Brothers".

BTW, if you watch "Night Shift" with Michael Keaton, keep an eye on the extras in the frat party scene.

Blonde Sense: ok...so who will we see?

Another Robert DeNiro comedy I loved was We're No Angels with Sean Penn and Demi Moore.

If I'm not mistaken, a very young Kevin Costner. Of course Keaton and Winkler were just pups too.

Yes, Yes, "We're No Angels" was great! But it's gotta be the original! Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Rey, and ..... Aarrrgh! Who else?

Edited to add: Of course! Peter Ustinov.

Monty Python & the Holy Grail is probably #1.

The first time I saw "Twit of the Year" on TV, I actually rolled off the bed from laughing so hard. I have that video somewhere. Should share that with my son.

I hate to admit it, but I roar everytime I see Dumb & Dumber and the scene in Liar, Liar when Jim Carrey is fighting with his own arm is a comedy classic.

Love the old stuff as well.

Wow!! Talk about some great flicks!!

Blazing Saddles (that's HEDLY)
Young Frankenstein (What knockers!!!!)
Holy Grail (Run away, run away!)
Airplane (don't call me Shirley)
Fast Times (the world needs ditch diggers too.)
Caddyshack (it's a Cinderella story)

In that order..I know only THE favorite was asked for, but I just can't cull it down!!!

Okay, I'm stealing, but I adored Spinal Tap! "my stereo goes up to an eleven" I think I will dig that one out and watch it again. Fav. scene is with the guy with the salami wrapped in tin foil down his pants and he sets off the metal detector at the airport.

Feris Bueller's Day Off.
Full Monty.
Pretty in Pink. Remember Long Duck Dong?
Midnight Run

Stealing again, Raising Arizona. This is one of the most clever movies I have ever seen. "You go in there get me one of those babies Hi" and "I'll just be taking me some of these huggies" LOVED it!

Gee, am I the only one who cracks up at
Spaceballs?

I remember laughing a lot when I saw "Ruthless People" in the theater.

But, "Airplane" is probably number one with me. It really cracked me up.

According to Peter Graves, when he was asked to be in the movie, he didn't want to do it. After all, he's not a comedian and doesn't tell jokes. The reply: "But, Peter, you are the joke".

It was wonderful to see all of those heretofore straight actors "get it" and enjoy the joke.

I love a man (or men) with a sense of humor.
