Jane:

Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy is a painful corneal condition -- the only type of CL I fit for those patients were bandage-lenses for pain relief ONLY...

Jane: also, when I fit CL's, it was always under the supervision of an OPHTHALMOLOGIST (eye physician & surgeon) -- the patient FIRST had to present a history and ocular examination conducive to SAFE & SUCCESSFUL cl wear. I would have been shot if I ever fit cl's to a patient with underlying corneal disease

CL's are wunderful, but they ain't shoes -- if fit improperly, or worn improperly, they can cause immense corneal damage...

ALSO: if someone you know HAS FED, then they should be under the care of a good CORNEA SPECIALIST (OPHTHALMOLOGIST ~an MD), who, I'm sure would offer all available treatment modalities...
