LOL snowy.
Yes, it is.
If I remember correctly though I think its application was funny too, but my memory isn't what it used to be, so I was checking the thread for a reference.
Thanks!

I vouch for krs...And I saw it in action too...even too big to make a "coq au vin"...would not fit in the pan.
I must say though, that the man in the GIF DOES have a big one too....

I wonder if SUPRA ever found the party thread that he/she was going to visit. We all have different tastes in fun/humor, but personally I thought Patti Davis's little spoof was funny.

Indeed, we do have different taste, Antiquary, and I say again "Vive La Difference...."
BTW I was referring to an animated GIF ken had posted last year....eeeeeheeee...which did not last very long... I suppose relieving oneself can be found offensive..

I think I missed that one Shosh how have you been by the way?
Antiquary, I'm still chuckling over Patti and Nancy Reagan. Remember Tom Wolfe and his "social X-rays" from Bonfire of the Vanities? Everytime I would see Nancy Reagan in a little red Adolfo designer suit, I would think ... Social X-ray! Aaah, the eighties.

enchanted...I am fine, thanks...Hope the same for you? Been VERY BUSY! A lot of restoration work is coming in, and sometimes, I think I might have to train an assistant!....Except, I cannot afford to pay one...
I wonder if Nancy ever got over her Anorexia....No wonder Ronnie Boy had to hold her hand...One light breeze and Poof!!!!...she would have been blown away...

Oh hell, let's just wait. I'm worn out from reviewing all the online materials on the Vietnam War, only to confirm what I already believed and krs so compelling expressed. Besides, as soon as it's safe, the real biographies will flourish.

Oh, I never believe Ken.
Actually the first time that this subject surfaced I was really surprised that many didn't seem to understand the support of and commitment to South Vietnam under the Eisenhower administration. I simply didn't understand how it could be an arguable point since it is a matter of historical record. Then the assertion that Nixon ended the conflict really floored me. So I wondered how difficult it would be, using objective sources of online information, to establish those facts. Information abounds but it does require quite a bit of reading, and in the course of doing so, I was also reminded of many events that have faded from memory and others that were fuzzy, so it was a worthwhile pursuit.
In terms of argument opinions may vary about who holds what degree of responsibility for the Vietnam mistakes and how many of them could and should have been avoided, but one can't construct convincing arguments by excluding information which is vital to establishing the validity of the opinion. For the discussion of many topics it may not particularly matter, but Vietnam is not what I would consider to be one of them.

Antiquary - If you're online I'd be interested in explaining my views on this subject, in SgtMike's thread.

Hi Linda,
I hope that you did not think that I was referring specifically to you in the comments above; I was rather thinking of the earlier debate and I don't even recall now who was specifically involved with it.
A good objective online source for the chronology of the Vietnam conflict is the collection of the Dean Acheson state papers on Vietnam, up to the Paris Accords on 1/27/1973. The Treaty begins with a confirmation of the Geneva Conference, 7/21/1954, and then sets forth the settlement terms. Since the North never honored those terms, in order to end the "war which wasn't war" Ford chose to ignore the whole thing, allowing the conflict to end with the fall of Saigon on 4/30/1975.

I understand that varying degrees of blame may be placed on all the presidents involved, but the only beneficial legacy to the American people has been the awareness of a large number of people of the need to critically question the policies and actions of their government. Just as many people are doing with the recent events in Iraq.

perhaps all RT threads have only three degrees of separation from a discussion of Vietnam
