The end of an era:
Effective January 27, 2006, Western Union will discontinue all Telegram and Commercial Messaging services. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you for your loyal patronage.
Not to worry though, as long as parents are still sending money to kids, Western Union will always be in business.

Sorry -- but eBay is expected to actively removing listings that still include BidPay references and will also do the same with AuctionChex.
The safe thing to do for now is make sure you edit out any mention of them --- and don't forget any mention in your AboutMe page or Store Policies pages! Just found one mention of BidPay still lingering on our AboutMe page and edited it out.
Keep watching the other boards to see if AuctionChex hears back from eBay... But, I bet they won't for a LONG time. By then, many will forget...
I think it's something to bring up by anyone thinking about attending eBay Live this summer. What kind of "Seller" protections are anticipated for international trade? Anyone can exploit PayPal's loopholes and they leave sellers exposed to fraud.
For now, it's International Postal Money Orders for anyone outside the USA -- and "Confirmed Addresses" for Canada and UK buyers if they want to use PayPal. And, they get to pay the higher "Air Parcel Post" because of the tracking provided.
Speaking of that -- anyone had to provide proof to PayPal yet using the scanned Customs Forms? Would like to know if anyone's experienced success yet with them.

Well here's ebay's T&S response to my question:
Hello Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. My name
is Dewie, and I'm happy to help you further.
The site is in the process of being updated as usual, first, I would
like to apologize for the confusion, in answer to your question, you can
NOT offer cash as a payment option. the policy page which states the
safe payments policy is correct, and those options listed on that page
are allowable forms of payment. The other page will be updated in a
timely manner. Again sorry for any inconvenience that this situation has
caused you, and thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.
eBay is focused on providing a safe and well-lit marketplace for buyers
and sellers. It is crucial to this effort that we encourage the
community in using safe online payment methods.
We evaluate payment services based on the following criteria:
- Whether the payment service offers substantial financial and privacy
protection for users
- Whether the payment service raises the potential for confusion among
eBay users, or involves incentives that eBay cannot guarantee or may
present fraud concerns
- Whether the payment service involves barter, precious metals, or other
non-cash (points, miles, minutes, coupons, discounts) as consideration
- Whether the payment service has a substantial historical track record
of providing safe and reliable financial and/or banking related services
(new services without such a track record generally cannot be promoted
on eBay)
- Consideration of the identity, background and other business interests
of the payment service sponsor
- Consideration of the license/regulatory status of the payment service
in the countries where it provides its services
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Dewie
