Yet another "Gee, guess where he gets the labels?" but what's really interesting are his Standard, Elite and VIP Return Policies down at the bottom.

Gotta say this is the first time I've ever seen that.

More UPS labels but with a twist

Good to hear of the happy ending- wondered what resulted from this. Neglus and I stumbled on a similar great deal for envelopes.

Fluffy,

Did you see their prices on other labels - The thermal labels are about 10% what I paid for them, and shipping is free. I placed an order, Camas is only a few miles from here, if it is legit, then that is an amazing price. Of course, I am still waiting for the boxes lol

They won't be bit with the shipping, because there is no shipping cost. They sign you up for your own UPS account and UPS ships them for free (I wrote to one of the sellers, and told him I already had a UPS account, could I still bid on the boxes, and he told me no)..thinking you are a new customer. They come in a uline box from the UPS..and when I last ordered them, they came in a couple of days.

I find it hard to believe this seller could sign Mike up with an account at UPS without his knowledge. If so, their proceedure is certainly more lax than FedEx. When I opened my account at the local FedEx office, they swiped my driver's license magnetic strip through their system and I had to post a credit card to guarantee payment. The next question is obvious. What happens when this guy starts using that account to start shipping cases of those Washington apples to all his friends and relatives in Europe, and Mike gets the bill? That's going to make for an interesting thread.

I already have a UPS account. I have had it for years and years. I stopped using them for everything but standard ground to canada a little over a year ago. So I still have my account and do use it every once and a while. If he did sign me up for a new account the info he gave them would be my company name and address as this is what is on file with ebay and paypal and that is what "my" account with UPS is set up under.

I don't think he did this though. The shipping label on the box I received was filled out by hand. Every time I ordered shipping supplies from UPS they come with a printed thermal label on them with the from address being the UPS supply center. Not only that but the ship from address is the address he has on file with ebay that payments are mailed to. There is also a UPS billing account number on the label for who the shipping charges were billed to and it was not mine.

I also have a UPS account and you have to sign up with a credit card for them to charge any shipments. Which I was doing when I signed up so had to give credit card. Maybe you can sign up without one if not shipping but that would be kinda dumb. I did this about 4 years ago and just last year changed my credit card to my Paypal card I got for having a business type paypal and also associated it with my paypal shipping thing.
I ordered labels about that time and still have some but since I don't ship UPS much figure they would balk at me ordering more labels so I haven't done so. Anyone not use them much and still order labels and get them posting here? The labels I got did NOT have their logo and for UPS shipping only so it has been quite a while since I ordered that one batch I did get. I must say I really do like them. Oh something else about when I ordered I ordered 2 sets but only got one then about 8 months later they shipped me another set about (200 labels). This was odd as I had not reordered but guess they had put them on hold? from my one and only time I ordered.

SO in my experience how is that guy selling 6400 lables able to get that many delivered to himself or even sign up anyone at UPS, looks like UPS would get wise. Plus he has over 1800 available in separate auctions that is over 576,000 sheets and 11,520,000 labels if my calculations are right and this is just 2 auctions # 7588695075, and 7584014316 .. Sounds crooked or something...
Anyone have any thought on that and how he is getting them?

Sparkz, I don't understand ........the guy can sign Mike up for an account?

How can he sign anyone up for an account, this I don't understand.

Would that be how he ships the boxes free to anyone who buys them?

Maybe I'm not thinking right......still on first cup of coffee.....lol

I ordered 50 boxes they were delivered to me by Fedex.

Another Vednio user emailed me (I guess they don't like to post here on the board) and told me that his delivery of box's showed up just fine. He said that his box's were however delivered by FedEx Ground. So there is no doubt about it that this guy did not sign anyone up for a UPS account and have them ship the box's directly to them.

<snort> Like charging another $5 per 50 boxes is going to provide this guy with a profit under your scenario, Mike.

I have a UPS account. It would cost me $78.37 to send the package you described...

200 boxes packed in Uline box with the dimensions and weight you gave...

from California to North Carolina.

Please explain to me one more time how this guy is finding these for free somewhere and shipping them himself.

He must be the world's worst businessman to take a $33.40 loss just on the shipping.

Hey!

Maybe he found a $500 eBay/PayPal gift card just lying on the ground somewhere.

That's why he doesn't have to worry about fees. Yeah. That must be it.

By the way, UPS is now cracking down on shipments of labels to some customers.

You can only get 50 at a time, not 400 or 800 like before. 'Least that's what I hear.

Fluff, that guy with the labels you posted selling so many labels. well I bought some this morning, he had some new ones listed and I picked the cheapest one 800 labels for $4.99 no shipping, don't know how he doing it but I wanted to find out for sure it is UPS labels -according to image it is- and if they weigh as much as the ones I got from UPS then he will go in hole too on shipping. Will let you all know when they arrive and how they came etc. Maybe he too found an ebay gift card. haha

I think you are right on the labels I went to UPS to see about ordering and how they looked and what the rules were but it didn't let me in to see them said I would have to process a shipment first then wait 24 hours. LOL been about 9 months since I printed there and guess account went inactive until I logged in. OH well I will at least get a few from this guy and then my curiosity will be satisfied.

He is indeed making money and here's how. This guy (or should I now say kid) is not only scamming the box's from UPS but somehow he has managed to scam UPS on the freight charges. I still have the box that my box's were delivered in and I thought I would give UPS security a call and see what's up. I gave them the tracking number off of the box and I was told that in their system it shows the package weighed 14 pounds and he was charged $11.23 for shipping the box. The box was NOT 14 pounds, it weighed 86 pounds and was 36 x 21 x 20. Sounds like he is paying off whoever checks the weight of packages once they are accepted at UPS. This kid has found all the cracks in UPS's system from the looks of it. So from the looks of it he is indeed making money on every sale. I would still like to know how he is sneeking the heavy packages through their system with incorrect charged weight's.

By the way, if anyone who bought these box's still has the box they were shipped in give UPS a call and give them the tracking number. Explain what is going on and they should give you the weight and fee's that were charged for that package. I think you may be supprised at what their system shows and what the package weighed in real life.

I agree it may not be ethical, but I also agree that I'm happy with the box's I got. I was not calling UPS to report the guy. I called them to find out how in the heck he was shipping them so cheap, I'm alway's up for a new cheaper shipping method. I inquired if they had a non day guarenteed delivery service for ground or how he shipped these so cheap. I then gave the rep the tracking number and that's when she gave me the weight and fee he paid for the package. I just left it at that with the rep, thanked her for her time and hung up.

Eventually UPS will close the loophole that caused this. Limiting supplies will suck for their regular customers, but that will limit the loss. Branding this as UPS is irrelevant, because the USPS will still ship. They just won't let you use their priority mail supplies for any other class of mail. Just today I got a book wrapped in priority mail packaging, and sent via media mail. It does bother me because I know that I am paying more when people do this.

As far as shipping something that weighs 86 pounds for 14 pounds, that is something that I wouldn't be surprised if UPS doesn't go after them and prosecute, because there has to be someone on the inside there to have that happen.

no scrolling for me fluffy. maybe you need a bigger monitor?

let's all remember that there is no more "free" Priority Mail tape because someone turned someone else in or else there was abuse of it?

I class this in the same category with keeping your pictures cropped because some people still use dialup or 128k DSL.

Priority Mail tape is still free. I get a couple of rolls every month or so from the Post Office. No you can't order it anymore but the Post Office can. As long as they know you and see that you use it for Priority Mail packaging they have no problem throwing me a few rolls once and a while.

fLuff - My screen measures 15 1/4 inchs diagonally and 13 inchs from side to side and I do not have to scroll from side to side. I use Mozilla Firefox and if I click my center scroll wheel on my mouse it bring's up a size adjustment. I have mine set to a size that I rarely ever have to scroll from side to side. The type is bige enough for me to read with no eye strain. Have you tried adjusting the display size?? Or when you adjust the size is it to small for you, just curious.

Fluff setting your screen resolution can fix part of it but then the letters would be much smaller. I corrected the url just for you. I sure do thank you for telling us or me how to do it.

Mike I will have to check with my post office as I use that tape all the time & makes for good markings on priority in different boxes. I have only 3/4 of a roll left. I had just ordered about 4 rolls maybe 5 I guess shortly before they stopped doing it. When I found out could not order I have been real stingy using it. Sure glad I did as I started to just order 2. The One time I am glad I ordered enough to last. I hate ordering so usually get a good supply when I order.

Tanksa lot.
