Using Mike's link, on the first load, I saw 8683 Stores and three minutes later there were 8674... UP from what Otterpop posted earlier in the day.

The fluctuating number just depends on which server your page loads from. These huge sites have multiple servers, and they are never in perfect sync.

I read Otters post about stores last night and tried to follow the link and it was gone. Then I open a new screen and tried again and it was there. I do suspect they are trying to close down that link. Wonder how much stock you have to own to get an answer to that question? How many stores did we loose in this newest "adjustment"?

It's really too soon to tell. Some people rushed right out and closed their store while others are waiting for their listings to expire. I may or may not close mine, but I'm certainly not going to do it while I have paid listings still running.

How many people will wait until the 21st and then list a bunch of 30-day listings at the old price?

The dust won't really settle until late September. Maybe not even completely then. How many people are "out of the loop" and won't even know about the increase until AFTER they are billed in September or October?

And then comes the holiday rush.

I don't think ebay wants to hide the number of stores they are losing...that's the goal -to clean up the clutter. They would prefer that people open Pro Stores or go to Half.com but are actually giving (according to stores board) tips on how to move your inventory off-site. Threads on "St Elsewheres" are not being pulled.

Basically people can bi*ch and moan and say they are leaving for sure this time and ebay's response is "Don't let the door hit you in the a$$!".

I still can't see how Ebay Express is expected to work without FP listings but I guess they figure they have enough BIN listings in the core site to still give a good shopping experience. Time will tell.

Was Ebay Express ever really a serious goal of eBay or was it simply a potential backup option in case that lawsuit went badly?

That is a interesting theory. It would make sense that ebay had a backup plan if the lawsuit went bad. Express could have been that plan.

I am surprised they put it back. Would benefit them not to have it so people could not tell how many they lost. OOPS maybe I should not have said that maybe their spies are reading out board. Read my lips..Insert profane words of your choosing.

Does anyone know if the Wagglepop stores have a "good till cancelled" option?

I might be able to justify going to the trouble of putting items into WP, but I don't want want to have to do it every month.

The bulk lister would remove this problem, but there isn't one available yet.

On WP you do the Stores on a 30 day listing but have the option of auto re-listing many times (can't remember how many) so you don't have to worry about them. You can cancel a listing anytime.

Labor saving for sure!

BULK relisting or click each auction and hit relist? Yahoo offers a relist option too, but you have to click it for each item. It may be faster than listing items one by one, but with large quantities, it's not really feasable.

I'm dealing with THOUSANDS of items. It's got to be doable in a few minutes, not take weeks of clicking "relist" over and over.

I'll wait for the bulk loader if necessary, I was just hoping to get a head start. Another month, and I'm not going to have much time for something as "iffy" as Wagglepop.
