Hi Mcjane me too, rainbows round the
room. I use them to decorate my Christmas
tree and the windows in each pane with red
silk ribbons. I love Verlys decorative
glass from the 30's & 50's. Hubby collects photographica, primarily Stereoviews
from the 1880's thru the early 1900's and Stereoviewers (cabinet type)plus some Kodakery.
Southwestern Pottery...some really neat pieces. Here are just a few!

I also have some lifelike porcelain kingfishers and egrets. Here are my three favorites.

Wow, femme 50 Carat Amethyst and I
thought I had a large pigeon egg mine is
oval in a filigree setting and is only 25.3
carats. When I bought the stone in St.
Thomas the gentlemen waiting on me said,
"Oh, madam is going to have a marvelous
brooch" and I said, No, madam is going to
have a most outrageous ring.

cat door stops, mostly black. I didn't mean to, I just bought one I really liked and couldn't stop.

black amethyst glass, started with a vintage piece my mother gave me.

Titanic, not the movie junk, the ship. I've been collecting it the longest.

Vintage jewelry, most of it with blue zircon, my birthstone. It has to be gold, I can't wear costume.

Gold, Gold, and more Gold.
Old china, mostly English China. But any old china will do. I love it all.

The biggest thing that I seem to collect, and believe me I don't try to collect this one. Teenage kids', they just seem to fill my house, especially at meal times. I have tried many times to evict these not so vintage collectables', but they just keep coming back.

femme...ooooohhh, that amethyst sounds just luscious! As much as I love diamonds, I am partial to the colored gems and purple is my favorite.

But I really want a Benitoite. They are only mined in the San Benito Mountains in California and are rare beyond compare. You can hardly even find a stone above 1 carat and they are super expensive. I'm holding out hope that I come across one somewhere and the owner doesn't realize what they have. Yeah, I know, dreaming can be wonderful.

I collect key return tabs that say If found return to so and so or drop in any mail box - but NOT the hotel or motel ones that are too common.
I did not mean to but it seems I have started collecting chauffeurs badges. I can't bring myself to sell any.

Until about 15 years ago, when I decided the whole thing was too Freudian, I collected eggs and boxes (inlaid, carved, Florentine, etc.). I still have them all but just haven't added to them.

Now, thanks to eBay, I collect Victorian jewelry as well as older jewelry from the Middle East (mostly from Lebanon, where I lived as a child, and Jerusalem).

However, some say that my best collection is of piles of magazines with slips of paper sticking out of them to mark articles I want to keep.

Toke I can't wait to see your quit smoking post!

I love collecting antique houseware pieces. But, anything from the early 1900's intrigues me. My favorite thing to look for is cdv's or photographs of Victorian era children. Here's one of my favorite little darlins!

Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

Please don't laugh!!!!!!

grandmarosie....welcome to "our world"!!

kraftdinner Not common at all...
tropical bark cloth (ie. Tapa made from the
Mulberry bark?)Love it. And it just so happens at the recent Antique show I was sorely tempted to purchase a chenille bedspread (reminded me of my mother's) but I
have run out of storage space for that type of item.
We also have an interesting collection of Oriental bronze (magic) mirrors in many different sizes and designs.
Oh yes, and I musn't forget the massive collection of Victorian Photographic Albums. Some have the typical velvet or leather covers, or celluloid, gutta percha, Mother of Pearl but my favorites are the ones with wonderful Music boxes incorporated in them. The sound is wonderful...and it is a real surprise to the uninitiated.
As a matter of fact we have way toooooo much stuff!! Watch out ebaY buyers!

I collect McCoy pastel vases from the 30s and 40s. Since they are fairly common on ebay and I like the "hunt" almost more than the piece, I only buy them at local auctions and garage sales.

I also buy old Victorian-type prints -- this is one of my favorites:

Ok, now I don't collect anything that comes to mind...

However, I once knew a man who saved all his kids' little chunks of umilical cord that had been knotted and eventually fell off (making the belly button). He had 6 kids...I hope he doesn't still have those things. EWWWWW!

Just here to provide your gross-out for the day
