The attached picture of a car accident is one of several that were taken by a professional police photographer. After developing the pictures of this accident scene, the officer found what looked to be some type of a figure in one particular picture.
Thinking it was a problem with his camera or its film, he performed tests on both. They checked out PERFECTLY! Take a look....Oh, I forgot to mention.....the people in this car WALKED AWAY WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A SINGLE SCRATCH. THEY WERE NOT EVEN SHAKEN UP! DO YOU BELIEVE IN ANGELS????

Yes, I believe in Angels. But then I question myself because I don't believe in God. How can I believe there are Angels when I don't believe there is a God?

Krs,
I'm a skeptic. There are probably any number of reasonable explanations for that image on the photograph that are far more plausible than some supernatural being.
People tend to see the explanation for things that most agrees with whatever they happen to believe or want to believe.
Short of reproducible results by independent and unbiased sources (the basis for scientific method) I choose to remain skeptical, neither believing or disbelieving.
Some peole here on AW will contend that I am merely out to bash the believers but that has never been my intention.

No, I don't.
I do, however, believe in fate. It wasn't their time.

Enchanted,
According to the article that I referenced
above, if you believe in angels, there is
one in front, one in back, one on the right
and one on the left.
I believe that I would rather die in the car
crash.

krs - My Dad emailed that photo to me a while back. And yes, I definately believe in Angels! And I also belive in ghosts in case you missed my thread "Do you believe in ghosts."
My parents have what they believe is an Angel in their house. Many people have seen it although I haven't. But then, will all the ghostly things that have gone on with my family over the years, I have a definate fear of seeing anything while I'm alone at night so my experiences have been limited.
I guess when you have the benefit of experience, it's easier to have an open mind. I don't believe that everything is either black or white, but that there are many interesting shades in between. It certainly makes life more interesting!

Speaking of angels...
I just bought my sister a "Maxine" birthday card:
Every time you hear a bell...
...an angel gives you a wrinkle.
The note I wrote:
Sounds like a good reason to me for staying home Sunday mornings.

Christina,
With: "My parents have what they believe is an Angel in their house. Many people have seen it although I haven't" are you implying that there are no mirrors in your parent's house?

For me to believe that an Angel has come and protected someone from death or harm or let them win the championship football game----also requires me to believe anyone who dies or comes to harm or loses the game did not qualify for Angel protection for some heavenly reason.

KRS....I think you're an angel!
I really don't think there are "ghostly" angels, but do feel that certain people were meant to come into our lives to help us along. If you think about it, you've probably learned something from every person that's entered your life.
A couple of years ago I was SO down.....ALL of my relatives have died, except my mom...I'm an only child and was feeling VERY alone. I prayed to God all the time but thought he wasn't listening to me. I left my job to go to another, and in the office beside me, I met a guy and we became best friends. We now live together (in sin, I guess) and he means the world to me.....more than I could ever have hoped for, so I guess my answer is YES!!!!!!!

Yes, I believe in angels.
On a side note, sometimes scientific theory can be used to prove that something does NOT exist, as well as using it to prove that something DOES exist. We haven't proven that God does or does not exist, nor have we proven that angels do or do not exist. Therefore, it is more wise to be agnostic about such things than to be atheistic.
Of course, that would also mean that not believing is on the same level as believing...so, since I believe, I don't entirely blame you, for you have as much faith as I do.

I don't believe in angels but I do believe in ROBINS and with the sighting above surely spring can't be far behind.
Very good writing, spaz.
In a different context of an angel in the house I thought of one of the most famous autobiographical passages from Virginia Woolf when she recalls that to be the writer that she wanted to be she had to conquer a "phantom" hovering over her:
"And the phantom was a woman, and when I came to know her better I called her after the heroine of a famous poem [by Coventry Patmore (1823-1898]. The Angel in the House...It was she who bothered me and wasted my time and so tormented me that at last I killed her. You who come of a younger and happier generation may not have heard of her...
Virginia then goes on to explain that the angel in the house became a metaphor for proper Victorian behavior which she had to overcome to free herself of societal conditioning which blocked her self-expression.
