Why in the world would anyone even consider going to Live. Unless someone lives in or near Boston, why take on the expense of travel, room, etc.?
It is nearly impossible to get a straight answer from ebay during the year. What makes anyone think that it is better at Live?
As I recall, last year's live was a gala event for those in attendance. Then while the glow of Live was still warm, stores were hit with a price increase.
If you feel the need to spend money - buy some inventory, or books on how to retire on your ebay income.

Careful, Bill, you're starting to sound like ME.

Well, typically there are lots of eBay marketing people standing around. At least there were at the last San Jose eBay Live. A few that I talked to even knew who I was. Now *that* is scary.
I had a specific question: Do you have a tool I can use to automate feedback return and if so, how much does it cost? We got three or four product people in on that one and I think the final consensus was I'd have to use Selling Manager Pro.
So if you want intense attention from eBay at its annual LoveFest, you can get it. It's also worth talking to some of the vendors. I spent quite a while at the Postal Service booth, and it was fun touching base in person with the brokers who supply most of my inventory.
Then while the glow of Live was still warm, stores were hit with a price increase.
Hey, you think that's bad; I was NARU'd a month after the eBay Live I went to. I took my eBay Live badge and lanyard with me when I went down to Hamilton Ave to picket eBay HQ.

You would think Ebay would offer some kind of discount for powersellers, either in listing fee or FVF?

Fluffy don't need no stinkin' badges, hee hee.
I have no desire to attend a Live and I have no idea why most people attend other than many of them seem to have fun and enjoy the social aspects. I'm hardly a serious seller though so most of the vendor stuff is beyond me. I'm also not really interested in socializing with strangers. Even when Live was 45 minutes away I didn't want to go.
But I like hearing about the experience from others.

The cynic in me still suspects that there are heavy sellers who DO get discounts of some kind but I think they will never let go of the "level playing field" myth.

The ONLY advantage to being a Powerseller is getting the free Powerseller Mug, and selling it on ebay for big profits!
