Well I did it!
Today I am going to Motor Vehicle to get a normal person's driving license after driving for SIX months on a restricted licence.
How restricted? I sneeze and they revoke it on the spot.

It is RED and only valid if carried with a paper that lists my traffic crimes which are speeding, speeding and speeding, but no more! I have paid for my crimes - free at last!

You scared me VeryModern. I thought I'd have to raise your bail money so you could continue to be my running coach. Hooray for you...now you can start piling up those tickets again.

Not a chance! This was a wholly humiliating experience and I am cured for life.
I putt down the road these days waving anyone and everyone to please pull in front of me. I deserved this utterly.
I have been in this much trouble in 3 states and one judge was kind enough to back-date another 6 month suspension so I walked out of the courtroom with my punishment already served.

No mas.
I fought the law and the law won.
Going now, and coming home with a virgin license, and I did not think it was POSSIBLE for me to drive for 6 months without a ticket.

Hi VM!

You have a license to be a virgin? Would you like some help getting that one suspended?

I gotta admit therp. That's pretty funny.
I am back from the DMV, and have had my thumb scanned, my signature digitized, paid another $45 and I forgot what other inhumanities.

I am waiting now for the memory to fade.

Very Modern - shame on you for volunteering to give more money to the government. That is all the speeding laws are - another tax. I go between Ohio and Michigan all the time and where I get on the Ohio turnpike the local little city has a 5 lane highway with businesses posted for 25 miles an hour for about 100 feet each side of the ramp to the Turnpike. It would be reasonable to have the speed set at 45 or 50.
As long as cops enforce entrapement laws like that they can expect to be regarded as a goon not someone worthy of respect.

Well actually I am now driving slow in the fast lane.
I have drove in the fast lane my whole life and I know I need to drive in the right lane, but every time I go over there I literally feel like I am falling off the road. I get dizzy, that is no kidding.

I am working on this.

Hi VM,

If we ever have a "new" poster show up with the ID LeadFoot, we'll know right away who it really is, won't we.

femme - I am horrible bad. Since driving "slow" I am able to see "fast" drivers and they are so rude.
It is a good thing to finally finally grow up and I am going to get me butt to the outside lane, this is my next goal!

meya - I think it is the next one to the west 11? Not the one that goes down through Cuyahoga Falls - although that whole town is a big speed trap and about 20 years ago there was a little town - I think Silver lake? - that was a notorious speed trap also.

Just north of where my Dad lived in Bradenton FL was the little town of Palmetto. It was a speed trap that the AAA used to tell people to do anything to route around before the interstate because the local police would stop you if you had out of state plates and extort big bucks from you. They also ticketed the local traffic and it actually led to the economic collapse of the town. Nobody would go through or do business there and now it is a slum with no real business and bums around fire barrels in vacant lots. They got what they deserved.

VM has learned the error of her ways, Muriel, and is once again an upstanding member of society. She is a shining example to us all. I'm very proud.

OTOH, we're keeping a close watch on gravid. Satellite surveillance has been initiated and gamma beam generators are tracking his every move. The aluminum foil on his windows and inside his hat has only lulled him into a false sense of security.

Shadowcat Meow!

xardon no cops cut me a break. Every time I do nothing wrong they leave me alone and every time I speed they give a ticket.

Same cop gave me my last two, 4 days apart.
I asked him if I looked like his ex-wife or something (joking, not rude) but no smile.
You think they could at least laugh at your jokes when they are sending you down the river.

Muriel you just had to alert the authorities!

xardon - Don't forget the foil all around my computer and monitor. I have not had a speeding ticket in 25 years. But I do get others. Now a few years a go they did come out and plant a new no left turn sign where I turn left every morning, and then sit there and write tickets for everyone who came through. What bugged me was the sign was about 40 feet back from the
intersection so when you are sitting there waiting to turn it is behind you.
Shadowcat - Where are you to be able to go that fast? We do that every day on 696 in Detroit - but not legally.

kcpick4u - red is a good color for lipstick and I have a story about that too btw. It is about this chick from the Philippines that I worked with for awhile. It is all thanks to her.
I think my favorite color is green but it may be blue at other times.
I am afraid I must be mutable unless something has changed again

I knew that there was some significance to RED! Blue!! More! More! On several occasions I found that I am attracted to something, only because it is Blue! I have often wondered why that is! I found your account of your granfather doing handstands quite interesting! That must have been something to see! Did you state you were a vegetarian?

kcpick4u- he did headstands. Handstands too and lots of yoga, but headstands were his bag, along with mountain climbing.
What he would do is run up these mountains and then stand oh his head on top of them and have his picture taken.
He was a double Capricorn, so there is the climbing, with ruler Saturn in Sag (outside) also Jupiter @1 Sag and so that is why all the preaching. He climbed his favorite mountain over a 100 times, he was local legend.

Anyway he was a piece of work, I have pic of him riding a his motorcycle in the 1920's except he is doing a handstand on the handlebars. He broke his leg (twice) doing this and so had to kind of limp / run up the mountains 50 years later, but no problem, Capricorn don't give a whit about pain.

He also built an underground house and the funny part is that he dug the hole by hand with a stinkin shovel and it took him 3 years for just the hole. He started this when he was about 75 YO. That is Cap for ya.
He also regularly traveled to attend Flying Saucer conventions, and unlike me, had bumper stickers all over his truck "Flying Saucers are Real" and "Space People are our Friends". I grew up next door to him and you might imagine my shock when I grew up and found out people thought this unusual. I am from the desert. Kind of isolated. I was gonna pogo stick to the 7-11 3 miles away. I thought that was viable transportation. I can still pogo by the way.

What was your question?
My mother called him "that Bohemian" never fathoming that she was just as bad.

when are you sending your data kc?
