Other than it being kind of ugly...it is marked Old Staffordshire Porcelains Kirkham 1888 England Eden. The bottom has wear but I am not sure if this is a reproduction or if someone painted it. I hope I can remember how to get the picture to come up.

I haven't tried to post a picture on here since I got my new camera so don't know how to do it. I put it in my auctiva file but it still didn't work. Any ideas.

How large is it? I think it's adorably ugly. Hope it's old, for your sake. Can you show us a picture of the mark?

I agree fully. It's ugly. Is the inside surface where the handle is attached smooth or is there an indentation there? Could you give us a picture of the inside of the upper rim?

I like it. Is that a snake around the middle?

Thank you everyone for your help and comments. This pitcher is approx 8" tall and about 6" across. Here are some pics of the inside rim and the writing (I hope the pics work). That is a snake around it.I can't remember what I did to get the first one..hope someone can get this one to open.

Parkman,
Can you make that last image larger and brighter and rotate it so we can read it?
Thanks

I did that and it reads as she says in her first post. "it is marked Old Staffordshire Porcelains Kirkham 1888 England Eden"

Good idea Fluffy but no luck. I searched ebay to see if there was anything similar on there but nothing there. Guess I will list it with the information on the pitcher and no idea if old or not. Maybe someone will recognize it. I bought it cheap so whatever I get will be nice but I guess we all hope to find a "treasure". Thanks for everyones help and input.

Huh?
Put Old Staffordshire Porcelains in double quotes, like this:
"Old Staffordshire Porcelains"

Works better when you search google than ebay, as zippy did. http://www.thepotteries.org/allpotters/635.htm

If anyone is wondering, the reason why you put a phrase into quotes for a search engine is you are telling it to search for that exact phrase, not just any old document that has the words old, staffordshire and porcelains somewhere in it.
You get fewer, more relevant results.

Parkman: Please let us know when you list this piece; I like it, and it should be fun to watch. (In its homeliness, it's sort of the Sharpei dog of the pottery world!)

It didn't sell but then it's not as cool as yours. Make sure you mention the snake in the title.

Hey Zippy--thanks for finding that one. I guess that means its not worth much but I will come back as soon as I list it and put the # in so everyone can cheer it on...I will mention the snake, that may help but I won't get my hopes up for a big price. It is surely the Sharpei dog of the pottery world...also Roadsmith, I love watching those Christmas cards. The ones you have on now should bring some decent money.

Parkman: Every week I'm listing a group of those celebrity Christmas cards. I've given up trying to predict which ones will sell big and which ones will sell average. So much depends on who's looking!
I still have one more overstuffed manila envelope full of the cards, plus some to list later. (More than 5 or so in a week from the same celebrity "floods" the market, I think. So I have maybe 10 more Bob Hopes and Rock Hudsons to put up later.)
It IS fun to do and to watch, and gee they're so easy to ship!

Is there any reason you don't list what type of shipping service you will use? You've been doing this stuff for 10 years, so I'm thinking I could learn something...
I'm also interested in why you didn't provide a close-up and properly oriented image of the writing on the bottom?
Again - hoping I can learn something from this experience.

I agree with Zippy and Family Biz.
(1) You don't want to make it hard for a buyer to view the marks on the bottom of the pitcher; I'd suggest you reorient that photo.
And. . . (2) not sure you need "England" in your title; put "snake" there instead to help the snake lovers find your auction.
I hope this pitcher does well for you!

Auctiva will not let you edit the pictures once they are on the auction but I added a corrected picture to the bottom. I also included snake in the title. If it doesn't get a lot of attention in the next couple of days I may remove it and take new pictures and restart it. I really appreciate the help and suggestions.
