Most mornings I check out the Wired magazine site. This morning I noticed the headline "With Growth Slowing, eBay Gets Innovative" and had to click it. My first thought was "Someone should tell Meg not smile that broadly." I was next struck by the somewhat fawning tone of the article. All the things that are causing the eBay Outlook Community to pull out its hair are mentioned here as nifty new "features".

Wow. Sorry, Photo, but I didn't know anyone actually read _Wired_. As far as I know, no one in Silicon Valley does.
When evaluating any publication, be it _Wired_ or AuctionBytes, keep in mind that these people have to publish SOMETHING. It's their product. When they get it pretty much completely wrong, as in this article, what are you going to do, ask for your money back?

Fluffy, I have to give you points for consistency. You can manage to turn any reply into a critique of the knowledge and/or intelligence of the OP. I said "check out" not devour for reliable news. To turn the old Playboy saw around, I go there for the pictures, not the articles. I give it a brief flip through on some days in my morning quick check of sites. Because the site is so graphics heavy I sometimes see a picture that catches my interest.
Perhaps I should have marked my post with "Snark" or ended it with "/Irony" but I though I had conveyed my impression of the article as useless.
And yes, I do know Slashdot.
