Some one stood behind E Splitzer saw him purchased 2800 dollars worth of 'mail orders' at the post office.
Could he be buying something on Ebay?

I was feeling kind of sorry for the guy until I heard that Wall Street cheered when he resigned. Evidently he took pleasure in ruining people on a personal level. He must have been a real jerk. What goes around comes around.
-------------------------------------
I was on Wall Street during his reign as AG. He was despised by one and all, honest and crook. He would handcuff white-collar criminals in front of all of their co-workers; they would have shown up in response to a phone call, and even if picked up in person, were not likely to run away.
He also specialized in arresting people in front of their kids.
He brought the "perp walk" to a new low.
He was a bully, through and through. I fully support going after white-collar criminals, because their misdeeds hurt so many. There is no need to humiliate them personally at the time of arrest. Their trial will do that well enough.

I feel NO pity for him.
May those who love us, love us, And those who don't love us, May God turn their hearts And if he can't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles So we will know them by their limping!

I do not see this "marriage" lasting
She truly looked sad. WHY would any wife meet the press at his side?
No protocol in the world should require it!
And as for their children, that is no reason either.
Gracious no teenager expects mom to stand by dad after he comes home from the brothel!

When I saw his wife standing beside him I remarked to my DH that I would love it if she had agreed to stand by his side and then when she did she could have really slugged him hard right in front of everyone.
From what I have been reading here she probably would have received a standing ovation!
Sorry...no forgive and forget in my world when it comes to his type of behaviour!

Did you notice he used the word 'atone' several times, from the movie 'Atonement'?
But allow me to play devil's advocate?
A man needs sex and a wife with children and household responsibilities,by the time she reaches a certain age ,is usually not as keen for sex.
What should a man do in a case like this?
I really think we should stop playing hypocrites and legalise prostitution?Holland did.
Whether we think it is moral or not,it is the oldest profession in the world and it is around because there is a need for it.

That's funny otteropp, I has just finished saying to my husband that I thought his wife should give him a good slap on the face, and walk off, why should she be humiliated. We were just listening to him talking, and he could have been talking about getting a parking ticket. SO arrogant!

well,here is the infamous Kristen-
The New York Times reported that the real name of the woman — identified as "Kristen" in court papers alleging that Gov. Eliot Spitzer paid more than $4,000 for prostitutes' services — is Ashley Alexandra Dupre.
Don D. Buchwald, a New York lawyer, confirmed to The Associated Press that he represents Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the same woman in the Times story. "That's as far as I can go," he said.
A man who answered the phone at the home of the woman's mother in New Jersey and identified himself as Dupre's brother, Kyle, told the AP he did not know why Dupre would agree to be interviewed about the scandal.
"I've talked to my sister every five minutes since this happened, and I'm not going to comment on it," he said. "She's just trying to get through this."
Dupre's MySpace page provides a window into her life as she went from a broken home in New Jersey to a music career in the city.

1 of 12 With his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, at his side, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer announces his resignation at a press conference Wednesday. The move comes just days after news broke that he had been implicated in a prostitution ring. His resignation will take effect on Monday. He's the latest in a long line of politicians disgraced in sex scandals.
"I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own. I am here, in NY because of my music," she wrote.
In an Aug. 30 blog posting on MySpace, she writes: "The past few months have been a roller coaster with so called friends, lovers, and family ... but its something you have to deal with and confront in order to move on ..."
"What destroys me strengthens me" is the slogan next to a Dupre photograph. The photos show her at various places, including in a bikini on a boat in a tropical locale. The number of hits to the page soared by the tens of thousands after the story broke.
Dupre describes her favorite musical artists as Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera and Frank Sinatra, among many others.
Her Web site boasts a recording of a song, "What We Want." "I know what you want, you got what I want. I know what you need. Can you handle me?" she sings.
She briefly spoke to the Times about the Spitzer scandal. Law enforcement officials identified the governor as a "Client 9" who had a Feb. 13 tryst with "Kristen" and paid her $4,300, according to court papers.
"I just don't want to be thought of as a monster," Dupre told the Times. "This has been a very difficult time. It's complicated."
She told the newspaper she had slept very little since the allegations against Spitzer were revealed.
Dupre told the Times she worried about paying her rent in a ninth-floor Manhattan apartment after her boyfriend recently left her. She said she was considering moving back in with her family in New Jersey.
She declined to comment when asked by the Times when she first met Spitzer and how many times they had been together.
Dupre apparently appeared in federal court Monday as a witness in the case against four people accused of operating the Emperors Club VIP prostitution ring.

deur1...Good for you!
I'm a Canadian now but am still outraged that a man in his position would behave in such a way as to bring this unwanted attention to his family.
Frankly I don't care what he does in his private life but he obviously put his "needs" before his family and that is just plain wrong!

"A man needs sex and a wife with children and household responsibilities,by the time she reaches a certain age ,is usually not as keen for sex.
What should a man do in a case like this?"
He should make friends with his right (or left)hand.
In this day and age, there are no secrets. Did he really think he could make phone calls, push money around and have these liasons with a 7 star hooker and not be discovered? This is the height of arrogance.
I too watched that press conference and wished that Mrs. Spitzer would push him off the podium and stomp him.
