LOL bitsandbobs, I didn't quite mean it that way... but it would have been much better if you were there!

I must have missed the discussion of theme songs, what song are we picking, from the year we were born, theme song in general for our entire life, for just this week, or..whaat? Help, I'm confused.

theme song for this week was: DSL Ain't Working Blues

enchanted I missed that part of the thread too.
I've been having a bit of agro with the 'putor for a couple of days. Seem to have it sorted out now though.
A song that I've always enjoyed is The Gambler by Kenny Rodgers. Life can be so like the song at times!

I hope nettak's not flooded out in Australia. Saw some amazing pictures of flooded towns on the news just now, they didn't specify exactly where they were in eastern Australia though.

Thanks for that Bob - very appropriate...

I was out driving in it and let me tell you that it was a tow truck's dream!!! Car accidents and breakdowns everywhere you looked

Got home and the backyard is like a swamp and we had what looked like rivers flowing down the side of the house! The stormwater drains were so full that the manholes in the street were jumping up and down!!!

Tried to visit AW last night but it was down for maintenance...

Talk to you all later

Hi again!!
Zilvy - Thanks for posting the smiley bat and the devil I had those two and LOST them! So I am VERY happy to see them again

Enchanted and Bob - Someone (I'm sorry I can't remember WHO now) posted a link a few pages back where you can find out what the NUMBER ONE SONG was on the day you were born! It's pretty cool!! That's what the "theme song" discussion here has been about.

Too true, I am sooo old that my theme
song is probably something like Yadda, Yadda,
Yadda,Yadda Jing Jing Jing. (which is really
much older than I am-honest)But, I am sooo
OLD that I knew Catherine the Great when
she was only Catherine theSo-so!!
I don't wanna say I am oooold, but, if I were
a chicken I be McNuggets by now. badda bing!!
You don't wanna say I am oooold, but, if I
were a snake, I'd be a belt by now!!
You don't wanna say I am ooold because you
like being able to chew your food rather than
sipping it through a straw!!
Enough, out with the OLD in with the NEW.

Yoohoo, boy the echo is terrible in here.
I am getting sooo sleepy I'm gonna miss my
mates...I brought Tigger along for
Rocker to see, since her 'puter is slow.
No kissin' on the lips...
Tig is a biter! In this picture he weighed
in at almost 17 lbs. Now keeping a steady
12-1/2 lbs. he became diabetic, he gets his
insulin shots twice a day just like me.
{{{to all}}} Hope my Aussie mates are high
and dry...we are getting more snow. Aaargh!

Oh Zilvy, you get a great big {{{HUG}}}! You had me just cracking up and almost PIMP! Yeppers, I can be quite Dippy alright! Especially with all of these pain pills I'm still on, LOL. Actually, whenever I saw my old sig line I was thinkin', "Uh huh, yep, I got hips alright! " I'm not too sure about the choice of smilies yet though, and suggestions everyone?? (P.S. love the evil bat and Tigger Zilvy! I just wanna kiss him once, can I huh please??? )

You know gang, there I was last night just a chattin away with everyone and my gosh damn computer went all hinky again and then AW went down for maintenance I wondered around lost for a couple hours and then went to bed since I had my twice weekly torture session today. *sigh* See how much I depend on you guys now??

Speaking of rain, I do hope Pharlap and Netta haven't washed away on us! Anyone remember me saying the other night we had a huge storm coming? All we ended up getting was a half inch according to my rain gauge. It's a lot for us, but not what they were saying. But we are supposed to get more tomorrow. I love it though! I want to move where it's cooler

Bob & Enchanted, I was the one with the song link. It was something fun I found in my email that day. Here it is again: They say that whatever was the number one song on the day you were born is the theme for the rest of your life......

mouse, Thanks for the link. I tried it but I'm sad to say, I pre-date it!!!
I am worried that nettak hasn't posted today. I'm just hoping that she hasn't got problems with the flooding up her way or that MIL has passed away.
I have to go out for a while and will check in later.
We're thinking of you nettak.

I'll be in and out myself, looking for things to buy (Does that tell you anything?? My tax refund came today and ALL of my bills are paid, woohoo!)

That's too bab Bob, I'm gonna have to try and find one that goes back further...

Dear Nettak & Pharlap, I was hoping you would
join me last night, now I am worried about
the flooding you have been having. Nettak is
your family (MIL) holding on...{{{for you}}}
Hope we see you here today.

Rocker Where did you go? Who did you
go with? What did you do? Why were you out
so late? Don't expect any answers just wanted to remind you of your childhood.
Sooo where in the heck were you???I was lonesome and so was Tig.

Hi Zilvy

I'm a bit worried about Nettak as well... I don't know whether it's the flooding, her MIL or both

It's still raining where I am but it's nowhere near as bad as yesterday. I had never seem so much rain in my life until then...

Good to hear from you Pharlap do you
have to go to work today? The travelling
was horrendous I'll bet. Unless of course
you are a duck, then it would be "Ducky" The only good thing
about rain as opposed to snow...you don't
have to shovel it. Our 2nd Snow Storm in
the same week and DH is out snowblowing again.
This is really getting to be "OLD".
Of course when all of this melts we will have
a wonderful "MUD" Season. Yeuccchh!

Yeah - I just got home from work about and hour ago... I don't mind driving in the rain or driving in the dark but I HATE driving in the combination of the two! All the lights reflect off the wet roads and it makes it difficult to see the lines...

I just can't imagine what snow would be like (I've never seen it). Do you have to put chains on your tyres like in the movies?

 zilvy

posted on March 10, 2001 05:31:13 AM
In New England, no chains are needed, we used
to, before the advent of Radial Tires with
"aggresive" tread or 4 wheel drive. They even
had "studded" tires back in the 60's. Our
snow removal is so much more efficient on
the highways and secondary roads that
we don't need any of those items today.
Not sure about in the Mountains out west.
I know what you mean about night & rain, very
disorienting without those lines.
With snow there is no way to see lanes on
a 4 lane highway, so you just kind of follow
along in the tracks of previous vehicles.
Gosh I can hardly wait for the dry heat of
summer.

Heavens! I didn't even think of the snow covering the lines altogether - I think I'd have a nervous breakdown

Looking at your picture it does look very pretty though - as long as you don't have to go out into it I suppose!

I think I'll say goodnight now. AW is running very slow again for me. I have to rest up for work tomorrow anyway so maybe someone is trying to tell me something...

I'll log in at work tomorrow and see if anyone is around.

Have a good night!

Oh bummer, it looks like I missed you two! Sorry girls, I was over shopping for shoes! I haven't had more than a pair or two of sneakers in like 5 years. I just got myself 6, count 'em, 6 pairs! I'm so excited, I can't wait til they get here!!! You see, I wear a size 12 and I have skinny, sensitive feet so shoe shopping is a pain for me. They all look so comfy and all but one pair was on sale, plus I got free shipping. They call me the 'ultimate cyber-shopper' around my house, LOL!

I too am worried about Netta, I hope she pops in today

Zilvy, out here in the mountains they do require chains. I thought they did everywhere it snowed, LOL. Seee, I learn something new everyday!

Oh, before I forget...Be sure to check out the funny pet story thread and tell me what you think!

Hello Emelda-mouseslayer 6 pair of
shoes, but you only have one pair of feet!!
I did read your hysterical story & left
comment under it. Can you imagine the kitties
"ooooohhhh look the door is open." "You going
out there?" "I'm not going out there" "Let
Mikey go, he likes going out ther!" Hidey,
hidey, hide....no way maybe mom will come &
rescue us. I can just picture you guys
running around (especially the workmen) looking
for kitties in the dark!!

Good morning Zilvy! Oh it was hysterical the next day when I was telling my mom about it. But at the time I was absolutely horrified! I mean they are my babies and all My guess is between the strange men in the house and then the sirens they were looking for the darkest, most out of the way place they could find!

Funny you should make the Emelda reference, I thought of her too, LOL!

Well, I think I won the "who stays up latest" tonight. It's 9am now I really should go to bed! Between my torture session, massive bill paying session and my mother upsetting me I just can't get sleepy
