I have been making a tremendous amount of sales on Bargain and Haggle. 15 sales this week alone (average $25-$150). I wonder why more of you aren't talking about this. Tried Bidville- 0 sales. Tried ePier- 0 sales. Tried 321gone- 0 sales. Try it out and tell them that KitCat sent ya!

I don't "get" B&H, it's not a regular auction site, right? Don't you have to argue with the sellers or something?

Someone wanna 'splain it for me?

People make an offer and you can agree with it, make a counter offer and haggle or walk away. Only the first person who makes an offer can haggle with you. If you walk away from the offer, then the next person can make an offer.
In my case people have been excellent about making reasonable offers except for one time and I walked.
The best thing I think is at least people SEE what you are selling and don't have to go through hundreds and hundreds of items.
You are also more in control I feel.

For an inside explaination of the B&H site by it's owner you can read about it here:

I sell mostly vintage and antique glass items, but have also sold cd's DVDs and playstation games. My wife sells lingerie and has had fantastic results.

Cardsearch explained the process well. Once someone has made an offer, the sale process is pretty fast. And the prices I am getting are really good. I can also walk away for any reason, which allows me to get rid of junk offers and deadbeat buyers quick.

Also, free listings (only a FVF), and a 30 day listing period. When I signed up I figured I'd have nothing to lose. After all the sales I've had lately, I think I'll stay awhile!

Wow! I tried B & H - Listed 2 items yesterday. When I got home this afternoon, had offers on BOTH! Couldn't do a deal, but if we had another "time or two" - I think we could've got together (they only allow you 3 tries...) - oh, well - that's better than BidVille! 3 out of my 5 sales on there have been to repeat customers! I checked the page views on those 2 items - had 9 on one and 5 on the other. Never had that many on BidVille! I think I will think VERY seriously about trying them out, before I list my "non-eBay" sales on there! Could be something! And it's kinda fun too! One thing's for sure - it can't hurt!!! Oh, by the way, I put 3 more items on there tonight. Will be interesting to see if there are any bites on them!

Can you tell me on Bargain and Haggle how you found out how many page views there were?
Also, how long does one wait for an acceptance (or not) of a counter offer? Is there a deadline?
Thanks
Bobbi

Cardsearch,

I usually give it a day or two and then Walk Away if they haven't responded. Sometimes it kicks 'em in the butt and they come back with a better offer! There is no timelimit so it is up to you.

As far as page view, there is a built in page view counter. Go to Negotiate and click on View Items you are selling. It appears as VIEWS next to the title of each of your items.

I sold a bunch more this weekend!

Hey cardsearch! FYI - one thing to consider on the "how long does one wait" - regarding the "speed" of these negotiations - they are lightning FAST! I am speaking of the actual on-going negotiations. Actually, I had not even opened my e-mail - I went straight to B & H to check out any progress and there to greet me was a message that I had "negotiations pending" (I don't think they were the actual words - but that was the gest of it) - so I immediately went to work - with all of the offers and counter-offers, etc. the whole thing took well less than 30 minutes! It seemed almost as immediately as I responded with a counter-offer, the potential buyer did the same! Like I said - LIGHTNING FAST! 'Course this could have been a rare situation - I don't know if they'll all work out like that - but I kinda like it so far! Put on 3 more items last night and have had views on all but one - and may I add alot MORE views than on BidVille . Not giving up on BidVille, but I - like others - am having to find and try out alternatives and like I said, so far - I kinda like Bargain and Haggle! Like the concept really well! - ya'll try it - you'll have nothing to lose!

Actually as noted before I have been on B&H for a little while and like them. Only have about 15 various items on there at present (all collectibles). Good luck. I hope you continue to sell lots.

Hi Bobbi! I too sell a wiiiiide variety of collectibles. I have 2 items under coins/money, one under banks, one under Military (Civil War Map) and I couldn't quite figure out what the best place for the other was - so I put it under instruments/musical - it's a set of african-style hand drums...I think I'm going to add more onto there. Thinking of putting right on there after my 2 weeks on eBoo runs out - can't afford to keep running them on there...good luck to us ALL!

Thank you kitcatclock for your input that has sent me to B and H and almost immediately done a sale! This is certainly a Great Site and fun also, and most importantly to be treated SO decently with immediate email response. I hope many folks
at least try this one as I am sure they too will be as surprised as I was at the immediate response to the selling and the friendly email reply. It does feel Wonderful after feeling as through I had been through the "wringer" at some of the other auction sites.

Okay, by reading this thread I tried out Bargain and Haggle. My results...

2 items listed.

2 items sold within hours.

2 items STILL not paid for.

So, while I was impressed there are BUYERS on Bargain and Hassle, are they PAYING buyers, or just a bunch of NPB?

Seems to me that it could become Bargain and Hassle if people don't pay.

Hi kerrigirl ! My buyer (from yesterday) said she would put a Money Order in the mail today - so, until proven otherwise (which wouldn't be a first) - I will consider her a "paying customer" (fingers crossed)! My buyer has been on B & H since mid-April and is showing with 19 successful negotiations...so I think my buyer will come through . Did you by chance check your buyers' "feedback"? It may make you feel better (or worse - hope not!)

The buyers have no feedback (like me). They also do not respond to e-mail, which is now my concern since it has been days. I mean it did cost me with FVF for the items.

I don't want to put down Bargain and Haggle, it has a very good chance at being a decent alternative to auctions. Haggling is a time honored tradition.

However, Non-Paying Hagglers (NPH) will be the sellers bane just like on ebay with their NPB.

Kerrigirl,

I had a problem with a non-paying buyer once on Bargain and Haggle, and was able to get the issue resolved by contacting their customer support (which is really good about getting back to you fast). If your having problems, let them know. They will look into it, and refund you FVF if they cannot contact the seller. Good Deal!

Well, I tried it. I listed something a month ago and today reached a negotiation for more than I wanted! Now we'll see if the guy pays up.

I was pleasantly surprised to say the least and have listed one more item. They're electronics BTW and the transaction fees couldn't be more reasonable.

The bargaining was slow, but in the end it was worth it.
