G'day nice to hear from you. I thought is was just the dearest
little photo of a mom and baby I'd ever seen. So how are you doing
Netta? Has the weather moderated?

Gidday back to you Zilvy, you are right it is a wonderful little photo of mother and baby.
It is extremely hot here at present, I am not sure if it is going to try and storm again or not. We have been having some cooler nights, it is just starting to prepare for winter. Down in Victoria where Bob lives it is much cooler through the day, they are a long way down south and they have a lot colder weather than we have up in Queensland.
What about where you are, is it raining, or are the floods from the snow thawing?

A party sounds like fun but, I think I'd better hold off, still not feeling tip top. These gastro intestinal thingys take a long time for me to recover. The music is very nice though and much appreciated. Wouldn't happen to have a lullaby would you. I could use some shut eye.
We have had really heavy rains, and of course snow melt. Today was sunny, ground is
sodden and there is still way too much snow for this time of year. I should have crocus and jonquils poking up but no way with all this mess. Flooding in the lower areas which means approx 1/4 acre of our land is under.

How much land do you have Zilvy?
I am sorry that you are not feeling tip top, bright and bushy tailed. I hope you are back in form soon.
I was so tired this morning, but when I went an lay on the bed I could not sleep. I had this terrible feeling something was not right. Anyway I went and phoned my mother, she sounded dreadful, she is just really tired and needs to rest. My mum has a heart condition and she forgets that she will be 70 at christmas. She thinks that she can bounce around like she used to a few year ago.

Ooops got an emergency, have to go bury my head, having a sneezing fit and don't want to wake hubby in the next room.
Sorry about that, I'mmm baaack. I didn't know if I would get it under control...no idea what sets me off but I am NOISY!
We have just over 2-1/2 acres it's considered an oversize lot and the better part of it is woods. We live in a city but far enough from the central area that we
really feel like a country setting. The woods
block the traffic noises from the roadway
and make a lovely backdrop for our gardens
and a haven for lots of different types of song & game birds...we have fox, coyotes, racoons, squirrels, chipmunks all that good stuff. Course the coyotes have become much too crowded with the outer perimeter development and are a hazard to domestic pets.

hello Mouse, glad you popped in to see me, cause I am all on my own. Zilvy had to leave.
I haven't heard from Rocker for almost a week, she must be busy. But she will be back when there is a lull in the show. I think it is great that she has a show to do, everyone needs those $$. LOL
I don't know what has happened to Pharlap, she must be a busy girl as well. LOL
Oh Bob, where for art thou. LOL Come and talk to us.

I just saw the rest of your post Zilvy, I am on 6 acres of land and we are also not very far from the city. In fact we live only 1 mile from a shopping centre, but we are in a little section that is just like a village. It is wonderful and our land is right next to the Logan River, the only time I worry is when we get major storms and then I worry in case we flood. So far though we do not even get water sitting on our land, even though all the other blocks around us usually have flooding.
I just love the feel of country living, but being so close to the city and all the ammenities.
We do not get a lot of traffic noise where we are, sometimes you can hear the traffic across the river, but that is usually only if a fire truck or something with a siren goes by.
We have a lot of bird life here as well, when we moved here, we planted a lot of native trees and they attract the bird life.
The white cockatoo is here in force this year, and we have a lot of galahs' and other different types of birds.
We don't have all the wild animals that you have, but we do have a pesky fox that we think is living somewhere on the property behind us, he has been coming in and hangs out near the chook house. So far he hasn't gotten anything, well at least not of ours anyway.

It's been so long since I did anything with it, I'd forgotten how to do it!

Juliet LOL
Hi Bob, well you are one up on me, because I would not have a clue how to even start a web site. I have been thinking a bit about it lately though, and I did contact my server about web space. But I am in no great hurry to expand my knowledge just yet.

Nettak, It's nothing too flash. Just a simple site for now but with a bit more practice I want to expand it a bit and put on a bit of fun stuff.
For now it's basically a link to my auctions and some home shopping sites.
I've got quite a few pages in the throes of being done, so once I get all my links working I'll load them up and put them on the web.

I am not in any great hurry to build a web site. But at the end of Winter when I have more time, I intend to have a little play with it and see what I can come up with.
I figure that if we have a computer and we are connected to the net, then we are stupid to ourselves if we do not explore as far and wide as we can. I just want to know how everything works. But mind you it could take this lady years to master the web page building. LOL haha

Those washing machines are dangerous. We've got one that sometimes goes walkabout across the laundry!
One day it moved so far it jammed itself against the laundry door and we couldn't get in.

I hope that Rocker is doing alright and that the show is long and prosperious for her. Let's have a toast to Rocker and her show.
Now we will have to keep things afloat for when everyone comes in to party. It has been a bit slow this last little bit, but I am sure that everyone will be back at some stage.
posted on March 24, 2001 04:38:56 AM newnettak Did you know that washing machines can make great sex toys?
Making love on the washing machine with the spin dry cycle set to maximum can be exciting!
Please make sure that the lid is closed first.

We had a lovely experience today with one of my customers from Oregon. She was visiting Melbourne on business and phoned this morning to see if we were in. We all went out for tea this afternnon. It's a small world these days. It was so nice because it was all so unexpected.

Don't you just hate it when you do the wash and you end up with those mysterious dark, possibly greasy, stains that you don't see until they come out of the dryer???
First this computer went hinky again, then I had to go out to the garage to get toilet paper (we buy in bulk ), then I had to attitude adjust the cat, then I got on a whim search on eBay that took forever, then I found the above mentioned stains and had to restart the wash, then on my way in here finally, the computer went hinky AGAIN! AAARRRRGGGGGG!
Ok, I feel better now! My my Bob, you shameless flirt you
A toast to Rocker indeed! I hope Pharlap has found a boyfriend or something and is having a wild time! (I wonder if it has anything to do with washing machines on the spin cycle...)
Gee, I thought I had a big lot, 1/3 acre But in my city, that is big! Everyone is amazed when they come over how big the back yard is. My in-laws have a little 6 foot wide strip of grass the length of the house But oh I long for the day of having a ranch...

That would have been a wonderful afternoon. Yes we do live in a very small world these days. I have some wonderful buyers who email me and we correspond on a regular basis. Most are from the States, but some are here in Australia and I have a great lady on one of the Islands off NSW. These people offer their friendship and it is accepted with both hands.
I have one elderly lady who sends me links to things, she sent me a link to a map site so that we could see exactly where the other one lived. That is special because I know that she gets lonely and just like some of our elderly clients localy, sometimes I am there only form of contact for days or weeks at a time. I feel so sorry for these people, and I always try to find the time to talk to them.
If any of my buyers ask me about Australia, I always tell them about our gem fields, I don't think they should come to Australia and not experience the chance to go opal mining. You never know that lump of coal that they find could turn out to be a huge diamond. LOL
I also think that they should see some of our rainforests, not just the cities. Of course they would have to go on special tours, not try and do it on their own.

Mouse, if Pharlap has found a boyfriend, then I bet they have better things to do than sit on the spin cycle. LOL
We used to have a 1/4 acre block, and we lived there for 17years before moving out here. Mind you we are only about 4 miles away from our old house, but at least here we have room to move and no one really close to us to disturb our peace and quiet.
I will have to take some photos' and show you, I will do that when I have time one day.
posted on March 24, 2001 05:22:26 AM newNetta, did you see the pics of my fruit trees on the show us your view thread awhile back? I'm going to have to take some new pics of the yard when it gets a little greener and the yard guys get all the weeds under control
We used to live in an apartment/townhouse at the base of a mountain here in town. We loved it there! Even though we were in an apartment and on a busy street, we felt like we were out in the country It was at least 5 degrees cooler and we had a florists field across and down a block. It was gorgeous! We wanted to stay in that area, but there wasn't much there. On one side was the old, run down neighborhood and right behind us was a new development that was out of our range. Maybe someday...

You know Mouse if you want something bad enough and you try hard enough you will get it. We first started to look for acreage alotments 7 years ago. When we first came out here all that time ago, we could not afford the view let alone the house to go with it. But after 3 years of looking for the perfect place, I had just about given up and then the Real Estate Agent asked me if we had found a place yet and I told him I had stopped looking as I didn't think we could afford to move. He said come with me Netta and I will show you a place that is perfect for you.
Well I almost told him to shove it, as I was sick of looking at these beautiful places and not being able to afford them. When he came down this way, I thought, this is going to be out of our price range, but when we saw the place and fell in love with it. I just knew that we had to make an offer.
We made our offer and it was accepted. What I later found out was that someone else had offered the same amount and he knocked them back, but he took our offer. If it is meant to be, then you will get your dream.

I believe in fate too I know it will come someday, I just know it's not going to be tomorrow. We're having a hard enough time hanging on to the house we do have! Besides, we need to decide what part of the country we want it to be in
Now if my laundry would ever get dry (for the second time!), I could go to bed. I was up until like 10am yesterday. I wasn't tried so I got busy taking eBay pics and sorting. Then I got woken up early so DH and I could go out to dinner. We're supposed to go on a road trip or something today. I just hope I'm awake for it!

It's almost 7am! You can tell what time it is here by adding an hour to the time of our posts. At least until they go into daylight savings. Then it's the same time. We don't do it here in Arizona, but the rest of the country does. Go figure! (I think they're all backwards )
