The vinyl is a cream background with a cranberry and dark green pattern. It looks really nice, not too gaudy or cheap like vinyl has a tendancy to be. We won't get it installed right away, but we can't pass up the price! What we have in there now is that short loop indoor/outdoor type carpet (don't ask me why ) that's a rust/brown mix. It's horrid and Gunther chewed on a few edges as a pup. So we've been wanting to replace it forever. I'm just amazed that they had anything decent left, much less one we liked! I'll take a pic of it when I can. Speaking of pics, I have ones of the front and back yards to share too. The backyard is still a mess though and I'm embarrassed to post it here! LOL

Sorry Pharlap, I think the wires would melt it

The vinyl sounds nice Mouse, we have a gold colour cork tile in the Family Room, laundry, kitchen and breakfast room. I just love it, in our old house we had this cream colour vinyl and it had a gold fleck through it, but it was so old that everytime I scrubbed it, I swear it looked a different colour.

I want to put the cork flooring in the hallway of our house as well, because we have carpet in the hallway at present. But it is such a stupid idea, we have a big inground pool and both bathrooms are only able to be accessed by going up the hallway. Talk about stupid, putting carpet and wet kids' together. Anyway I am going to replace the carpet in the hall with cork flooring the same as is in the rest of the house and then I will just have a carpet runner made to put down through winter, when it is cooler. Makes sense to me.

Pharlap, melted chocolate, yum!!

You know girls' I have been really good, and I have stuck to my diet all week, not once have I strayed off to eat forbidden food. Oh I dream about chocolate. LOL

nettak, Off chasing a bit of skirt!!
It reminds me off the story about the young bull and the old bull, standing on the top of the hill, watching a herd of very comely cows.
The young bull said, "Hey, lets run down the hill and have one apiece".
To which the old bull replied, "No, lets walk down and have the lot!!"

He be da man alright, he is the only man game to come near us lovely looney ladies. LOL

Mouse, Cork flooring or cork tiles are a big square tile and they are made out of compressed cork. When they are put down of the floor they are usually glued and then they are sealed with a special sealant stuff, and they usually have a very polished look to them. I will take some pics' tomorrow and show you tomorrow night.

nettak I've been having a bugger of a day.
Our dozy neighbour decided about a fortnight ago to clear all the trees from his block. Over the years I have put in a lot of time and effort to develop my garden on that boundary into a fern garden.
We had tons of ferns of all types which used to thrive in the shade and do really well. In addition I had quite an extensive orchid section.
Now that chain saw Dundee has gone berserk, that part of my garden, instead of being cool and shady, now gets full sun for most of the day. The end result is my garden is now totally stuffed.
I'm trying to save and move as many of the plants as I can, and over the next month or two, I will have to build special shade houses, so there's quite a bit of work to do.
Now I find out today that the moron has put in an application to subdivide the block and put up another dwelling. Bang goes all our privacy.
To cap it off, all the possums that used to live quite happily in the trees have now moved into my attic, so I'm trying to possum proof the roof!
Honestly nettak, the amount of native birds and parrots that used to be here every day have gone.
The guy has only had the block for three months and he's been nothing but a rectal pain. Our old neighbours had been there thirty years. It's taken him just three months to destroy what had taken thirty or forty years to create.
I'm busy plotting diabolical revenge!

Bob, Downunder but never down.

Oh what a bummer Bob I hope you save your plants!

That sounds interesting Netta. They must not be very popular here because I don't think I've ever seen one. I'm looking forward to the picture!

Bob We have a number of chain saws that could be of help, just in case your are planning a chain saw massacre. LOL

I can understand how you feel about your beautiful garden, and the bird life. I would kill if anyone came in and cut down the trees that the birds flock to.

We had a possum in our roof last year, and it sounded like a herd of elephants. One day I was lying in bed and I very nearly had to go and shower and change, because this thing scared the living bejebbers out of me. Another time it ran from one end of the ceiling to the other and we heard this big bang, the stupid thing had run smack bang into the flue of the combustion heater. I was a bit worried in case it died up there, but after if ran into the flue, it got out and did not come back.

The other thing that we have had is a bird (big one) flew down the chimney of the open fireplace. The open fire is in the formal lounge and I happened to be sitting in there at the time, and you could say that I nearly put a dent in the ceiling.

I am sorry that your new neighbour is such a complete moron. How old is this guy anyhow? How big is the block that he is going to sub divide?

Now remember we have chain saws a plenty. They are the tools of our trade, so they are always sharp. LOL

nettak, we are on quarter acre blocks, so it's not that they are big or anything, but what has once secluded isn't anymore.
The moron next door is about 30, going on 12.
He hasn't once ever spoken to us since he moved in and from day one completely ignored even a simple g'day.
I don't need to be bossom buddies with the guy, but it would be nice to to be able to get on.

Our old place was on a 1/4 acre block and we had terrible neighbours on one side, (we got on with everyone else), for 17 years I put up with crap from this awful neighbour and I just could not stand it any longer that is part of the reason we moved to a much bigger block with neighbours a long way across the paddock, our closest neighbour is about 250 mtrs from the house, and even that is too close.

These people are in the entertainment business and she thinks her sh#t don't stink. From the day we moved in, she tried to tell me how we should live and everytime one of my boys' got on a motorbike or anything that she did not like, she would get on the phone and complain. So we have planted trees and plants all in front of her house so that she can not sticky beak what we are doing. Many times I have wanted to take a chain saw to this witch. LOL

Bob you might like this one, cause she likes to parade outside in her undies, she is 52 but likes to pretend that she is only a couple of years older than me. Now she doesn't have a bad figure (better than mine), but her skin sags and lets face it she is getting on and is not a young chicken any more she is an old boiler.

Goodnight Bob, see you later, and don't stress over your moron neighbour. It is not worth having a heart attack over, I am sure with your wonderful care your plants will recover.

I have just discovered that I have a spare teenager in my house, so I will have to go and see what they are all up to. So on that note I will say Goodnight all.

I have booked my spelling lessons for next week.

Hello Mouse, sorry that the party was not a good one. But as you said we are much more fun, I am sure.

I took a picture of my family room floor to show you, I did try and get a close up so that you could see the texture, but it had too much glare and shine.

I just love the goldie colour, and it blends and accents so well with all of my furniture, most of which is a dark polish.

Okay I also took some other pictures today, now some of them are not too good, but it will give you the general idea.

This is the grannyflat, that I was talking about the other night. See Mouse plenty of room for a family, it is just like a little house. LOL The picture is a bit on the dark side, it was just starting to get dark when I took it about an hour ago.

Cute isn't it.

This is my favourite garden area, it is only small and is beside the clothes line, but I find it so relaxing just being near this one for some reason.

Hi Netta! It looks interesting, but hard to tell what the texture is. Too bad the close-up didn't work out I think we decided today to forego the vinyl for the kitchen right now, considering our precarious financial situation. But I'm trying to tak him into getting a small piece for the bathroom at least

Mouse I will try and take a good close up picture of it tomorrow, when I do not have the lights on. But if you can imagine broken up pieces of cork all pressed together that is what the tiles are made up of.

Ok, grannyflat in Aussie= guest house in American

Ok, I'll show the front and back of our house. Just remember, it's still a disaster!

Front (see the atrium window in the middle?):

Back, I'm standing at the back gate facing the house. Of course Gunther was out there too The big green tree on the right is the lemon tree, the bare one on the left is the pecan. It's just barely starting to bud. I'll get a better picture of it when it's nice and green. See the corner of the fence on the left? That's a fenced garden area. I didn't do anything with it quick enough and the weeds took over . But they are magnificent! LOL The area in the foreground is bare, just weeds right now. Our dream is turn it into a tropical/oriental garden area. Of course now we have to get it cleaned up first. Oh shoot, I just realized I didn't get either shed in there. Oh well, I have more pics to take soon.

It looks great Mouse, and it looks like you have a bit of room in your yard at least. This is a picture of my house, well it is in two pictures because I could not fit it into one photo.

This is the family room end of the house, it is a large area and where most of the action takes place in our house.

and the rest of my house. The garden is very overgrown at present, but I will get to it one day. LOL
