nettak It's been a funny couple of days. Because of police involvement and a pending court case I can't go into to much detail, but it basically involves cattle duffing. It's alive and well down here in Vic.
The long and short of it is that my mate got wind that his property was about to be done. He's pretty remote and we had to move a fair mob of stock to a safe place in a hurry. Just enough were left to make things look ok.
Last night the duffers moved in right on cue, only to be met and outnumbered about 30 to 1.
It was the best fun we've had in ages. No one hurt, stock was safe, and one bunch of wankers in the lock-up.

Bob, Downunder but never down.

Cattle duffing is rife down here. Since the foot and mouth scare in England and Europe it's going on nearly every night.
Where my mate is is pretty remote country. There's only one copper to look after some 800 sqare miles of hard country, so he doesn't mind a bit of help now and then. By the time we got there there were blokes from everywhere come to pitch in.

Bob, Downunder but never down.

It is funny that you should say you want to live at Noosa, we have friends that lived up there and whenever my kids' went up to stay they hated it. My son said that it was so boring and my daughter just hated it altogether. I guess unless you are into surfing ect. there really isn't a lot for the young ones' to do. It is very touristy but they really do not cater to the teenagers at all.

The son of these friends would come down and stay with us, rather than have my kids' go up to his place, because he hated it as well and always wanted to come and live with us. That is part of the reason his parents moved back to Brisbane. Everyone is different I guess.

My friends sister had a shop at Hastings Street, that I am told is the tourist mecca.

What area is you mate in, or can't you tell us. My sister and brother in law had a farm just outside of Echuca. They sold and got out a couple of years ago.

Beef prices have gone right up in the last few weeks. Have you noticed? I suppose it is to do with the problems overseas.

Can you shoot a cattle duffer??

The reason I like it is because it reminds me of the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise area) before it became really tacky. I understand that the council there have something in place so that it doesn't end up all t-shirt and opal shops like Surfers.

I like it because there aren't too many kids/teenagers around. Just nice little cafes and shops along Hastings street and that beautiful beach! Just a nice peaceful existance. Heaven

Trouble is that it will not stay peaceful, the kids'/ teenagers have to go somewhere. I do not understand why the councils spend so much on the tourist trade and not enough on the residents. I know that the tourist dollar is important, but so in our young.

You see so many young kids' get into trouble because there is no where for them to go, is it any wonder that they hang out at the shops and make trouble. It is time that the councils and governments wake up to themselves and this problem.

Okay I have had my winge.

She had her torture appointment today, maybe she is not feeling the best. Remember last night she said that she had a tummy upset.

I think she has had a lot on her plate lately and maybe she is just a bit churned up by everything.

Hi Nettak, just found out you have a
pool yard, too late to come dashing over for
a dip due to the weather, eh? Oh well, I'll
put my pennies in a jar and try for next year.
I've missed chatting with you all, maybe
I'll get back into the insomnia mode this week,
trying to get more of a refund and digging for odd
deductions that will work legally for Federal Taxes...nothing
like waiting til the last moment!!
Bob had some wild and wooly fun...glad no
one was hurt and it all turned out well. That will get the old blood pressure up there!
Pharlap need some of your funny
jokes to keep me laughing, I wish you good luck in
becoming a home owner...nothing like it...
Your own space (course there is always something to be done in the way of
repairs &
work.)Wow, could we have a house
warming party...you better get a place
away
from the neighbors, this could turn out
to be
really wild!!
Mouse I hope you get to feeling
better
soon, this is no fun having one of our best
buddies in trouble.

Hi gang! Sorry I didn't pop in last night. I've been feeling rather icky and worn out the last few days and my computer (the older piece of cr@p) was being very hinky last night for some reason. Do you think maybe it knows I'm abandoning it soon?? Thanks for thinking about me though!

Bob, we're glad you're back. But I have a question, what is cattle duffing??? (Remember, I'm an American city girl )

Zilvy, I've been missing you! Pop in when you can, you're always a breath of fresh air

I didn't even make it to my torture session yesterday. Although the way I was feeling I really should have! Dad is due to be discharged from the hosptial today. But they've decided rather than sending him home, they're sending him back to a nursing home for a bit for some physical therapy. Plus they aren't real satisfied with his stats, so this way he'll be in a better place (hopefully! ) if he were to have another downturn. I hate it when she says things like this, but Mom is thinking he may not last the year. But then again we all thought that 2 years ago, so who knows.

I'm hoping to have the good computer up and running by the end of the week. DH still hasn't gotten the memory yet, but did put in the other parts last night in preparation. I think I will push him out the door this evening to go get it!

Well, it's a rare cloudy day here in Phoenix and I have a few more pics to take. So I better head out to take care of that while the getting is good! I hopefully will see you all later!

*Netta when does our spelling class start?!?

Hello Zilvy and Mouse

This is an early call for me, it is only breakfast time over here.

Zilvy, save those pennies cause you are most welcome to come and stay and have a dip in the pool.

You can stay in the grannyflat with Mouse, or maybe in the tent with Bob. LOL

Mouse, I am so glad you are feeling better, and I am sorry that all is not well with your dad. I wish I could make it better for you. {{{}}}

Cattle duffing is when someone steals the cattle, it is also called cattle rustling. A bad thing to do to someone. Bob and his mates were very lucky that they were not hurt, these theives can be very nasty people, or so I have heard.

Our weather is very overcast today with a bit of rain. So far we have only had a few spits, but it is promising to rain. This is good for us, because it makes everyone feel cold and they buy up big. LOL

Spelling class is called to order.

Greetings to all. Love to see those posts,
glad
you are working at keeping this going.
Netta I must have missed what your
business is, in the colder weather it picks
up...is it heating? Sorry, but I try to catch
up but I think it is more than I can handle
sometimes trying to keep it all straight!
Pharlap if you kept my email addy
(I lost yours) please email me...I want to
get some info to you regarding being tired,
drinking more liquid and some other things,
that I think are important for you to know.
I guess Bob didn't need Brunhilde to
help him with the bounced check! Boy you
lead an exciting life in your neck of the
woods.Mouse have you checked your email? I know you haven't been feeling well
so don't stress about it I just wanted to
keep in touch...I miss the interaction but,
I am like the old kernel of corn "Too pooped
to POP" and will have to turn in now...big
day dealing with Tax records tomorrow, DH
had taken a file (I spent an hour digging
through mounds of paper work and couldn't
find it) tonight he said "Oh yeah, I needed
to check on something." He is a terrible
keeper of records and it took him a half
hour of searching to relocate it....needless
to say he got an earful. Doing taxes is
stressful enough without having my filing
system all messed up!! I got so bent out of
shape I took and hours nap today and when I
woke up I had a 13lb Tigger snuggled right up
against like a spoon, nested in the curve of
my body. Usually he only does that when I
am physically ill...I guess I was close to it
with the HIGH Blood pressure that stress
brings. I am smiling now and will drop in
again {{{to all you good folks}}} as
Rocker would say Smooches!!

Yes Zilvy a big part of our
business is winter heating and heating products. We will get really busy in a
few more weeks so I will be cutting back
my chats. I will still be coming in, but only a few times a week not every day like I have been.

You know like you said so well in your post,
some days I just know that I will be too pooped to POP. LOL

Talk to you later. I am glad
that you could 'pop' in to see us.

Ok - here's one for when Zilvy comes in tomorrow...

One night a man went to a party and got drunk. He realized that he had to go to the toilet. So he went in a golden toilet. He thought it felt nice.

Since he was so drunk that night he forgot where the party was. When he was sober again he only remembered how good going in the golden toilet was. So he wanted to go in it again.

He went to the first house on the street and asked "Do you have a golden toilet?" The woman replied "No."

So he went to the second house and asked again. "No." The woman replied.

So he went to the third house and asked "Do you have a golden toilet" the woman turned around and said "Mike I found the guy who sh*t in your tuba."

Hi Pharlap! You know, I was thinking of Fruity
Bix Bars today and my mouth was watering! I know
DH is looking forward to Tim Tams as well. I hope this
on gets here as speedily as the last one too

My tummy is feeling better, but my hip and back are
hurting today for some reason. It may be all of the
stress. Stress seems to do that to me Oh, and I get
terrible stress headaches too. They're horrible.
But my doctor put me on some medication for them
last year and they've been better, thank goodness!

Hello guys', how are you both tonight.

We will have to try and remember to cut
our lines down or we are going to have to
scroll all over the place again. Gee and
I was just starting to get used to not
having to scroll from one side of the page to the other. LOL

Today has been a busy day again for me, but
I am not complaining, I talked to some of
our clients that I haven't talked to for
a long time, and these are people that I
have a lot of time for, so we had a good
long talk and just caught up on gossip.
