WOW Bob, send some of that cold us
to us here. LOL We are starting to get
busy work wise, but cold weather would make
it much better. LOL
Mouse I would trim it back and still
plant out a cutting or two. You never know
you might end up with a whole new plant out
of it.

While I have Mr. Green Thumb on the horn, what should
I do about my 'garden', the one that has 4 foot high
weeds taking over? I want to get it cleaned out so that
maybe in the fall I can plant some vegetables. Also,
on the sides of the yard the grass has jumped the
concrete border. On one side I'd like to get rid of the
grass and plant flowers (I'm thinking of maybe doing
a raised bed). On the other side, I want to again get
rid of the grass and perhaps put some bushes in. Ideas
on how to get rid of the grass?

referred to that keep posting to this thread?

mouse, Take some cuttings. Make them
about 5" long and set 4 or five them in a 6"
pot. If you have any, use a hormonal rooting powder. This helps to encourage
good striking and acts as a fungicide
which prevents any infection to the
cutting.
Because your weather will still be cool a useful thing to do is to cut the bottom
off a large plastic bottle and place it
over the top of your cuttings. This will
act as a mini greenhouse and get them
going quicker.
Good luck!

You know for a thread that people don't seem
to like and some want to get rid of, gee an
awful lot of people seem to read what we
have to say. We must be really fun people.
Or maybe they just like the
weather reports and gardening tip. LOL haha

mouse, I hate to tell you this but
there's only one way to get what you want.
It's called digging and weeding!
If you are really lazy, buy a goat!

you know the old plastic type of bakerlite
{I am not sure I just spelt that right}, do
you ever come across any on your travels?
I like the multi coloured ones if possible.

anything, but they also poop it out again. LOL
They also smell.

Well then I guess it's up to the new lawn guy then
We fired our old crew this week, one too many times
of leaving the back gate unlocked. Plus the broke my
garden bells and a whirlygig I had. That was it for me!
Somehow I don't think the doctor would approve of
me going out there and digging just yet.
Who knows Netta? Maybe they just keep checking to
see if we've veered off into politics or religion
so they would feel like jumping in? I think maybe they
have forgotten why this thread, and it's predessor (sp?)
were created. Because we don't always want to talk
about that stuff! And we like being noncombative

Yes fertiliser. LOL
But the weeds will come back unless you
are willing to put a lot of work into it.
Have you thought of putting a really heavy
mulch down, that will get rid of a lot of
the problem weeds that normally come back
through. That is what I did in my
rainforest garden, and it worked a treat.
You know Mouse, it isn't that I don't
like to talk about serious stuff from time
to time, but a lot of it has nothing to do
with me or my country, and because I do not
live in the States I do not feel I can really
contribute to any political debates, and I
do not always understand a lot of what is
being discussed, because it is more for an
American audience.
At least in this thread we are all
comfortable with each other, and we help
each other. I like that.

I hear ya Netta. Even though I am American, politics aren't
really my cup of tea. It's not that I don't care, I mean
it does affect me too, it's just that I feel intimidated
in those threads because I'm not really up on the subject.
I did read them before the election, to help me gather
info for my vote. But after the election, and the recounts,
I quit reading as it was all said and done. We had our
President, why keep griping about it??
Ok, I keep meaning to ask, what is a paddock? Here
it's a swimming pool (Manufacturer anyway).
You can come mow my lawn anyday Bob honey!!

Is that a hay bailer? LOL I don't think we
need anything as big as that.
Thanks for the thought. LOL
Do you two want to draw straws who starts the
next 'Who Stays Up The Latest PART THREE'?
I have to admit it is a pain scrolling across
the page everytime, and we still hold the
record for the longest running, most peaceful
thread in the history of AW.
What do you think?

Mouse a paddock is a field or the land
that surrounds my house. I am on acerage and
we refer to the land as paddocks.
I agree with you about the rehash over the
elections, why keep on and on about something
that is already a flogged subject.

Ladies first nettak. I'm going to sign off for a while as I have to set a possum trap in the roof.
One of our new lodgers has ripped the tiles off the roof for the last three nights and going by
the big crash up there just now it's doing it again!
I don't know how big this one is but it's actually thrown some of the ridge caps
down onto the garden. Sounds like Possum Dundee!
Catch you all later.
