"the republican/Bush oriented sectors never desisted in repeating the same tired Limbaugh-like dogma as though it were the gospel." attacks the republican/bush sector but leaves Rush pretty much alone. So rather than attack the messenger I guess I attack the messenger's little helpers, et al.

Hehe its amazing people can take up for the appointed moron in the White House. We had a guy at work who used to take up for bush until everyone made him the butt of the jokes lol, even the other republicans ribbed him. I am sorry but anyone that doesnt know Social Security is a government program isnt too bright, and people who defends him on such things look just as stupid..........
And if our founding fathers were able to come back today all the crooks involved with the last election would be hanged at dawn.

Well old chum I've already demonstrated time and again that he was NOT appointed. Who got more votes in Florida? There's your President, like it or not.
As far as taking up for Bush, it's no secret that I am not a fan of his. I don't think he's particularly bright, but I am grateful that at least now our nuclear secrets might be a little safer.

Yeah, but I'll bet he knows the meaning of the word "IS".

Why is it, that every issue of Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report magazine I have, basically approves & supports President Bush?
I receive those three magazines in print, in the mail, and read them all. There has but rarely any disapproval or discontent articles written on him, nothing but good things?
Are these mags owned by the rich Republican/Conservative/Corporate evils?
(and why do so many type out Bush or Rebuplican with a no caps, is this on purpose?)
I would type or write Clinton and Democrat starting in capitol letters.
Perhaps it is because most Americans approve of his job thus far. Maybe everyone was just tired of Clinton and his scandals. Either way, the true test will come now that the traditional "honeymoon period" allotted to all incoming Presidents is coming to an end. And NO the owners and reporters of those magazines consider themselves overwhelmingly Democrap.

posted on May 9, 2001 12:38:05 PM newBlame The Voters, Not The Politicians! All of us at some time have said to ourselves "Why in the hell did I vote for that idiot?". But, it is said after the fact, and long after we find out just how bad they are, whether Republican or Democrat. To say "blame the voters" is sour grapes. If we all knew in advance what the outcome of our votes would be, we would all vote for Mr. Perfect President, which we all know does not exist. They all have their flaws and 'suck at something', (sorry Monica, no pun intended). Just because anyone votes for who they feel is great, doesn't mean they are! Apparently, the rest of the population didn't agree, so, get over it. Why give up four years, and maybe eight, crying about who won the Presidency? Geez, this vote drug on for so damn long, and now it's decided, the criers take over.

You are entitled to your own opinion, of course. But, I have to disagree with what you are saying, because these voters knew exactly whom they were voting for, knew exactly what their candidate's agenda was, knew how inexperienced Bush is, knew that Bush sided heavily with corporations against people, against clean air, against clean water, against renewable resources, against protecting the common worker in the workplace, was completely incompetent in foreign affairs, knew exactly what would happen if this idiot was put into office. Heck! If we get into a shooting war, bush will rely upon Jesus to do the fighting as he has not the slightest inkling what to do (rememeber the debates?). That's not being blind - that's being stupid!
My point is, is these voters were so stupid as to vote for Bush and the Republicans once, what's to stop them from doing the same stupid thing again next time around, I ask you? My suggestion to blame those voters everytime their elected official does something bad is the ONLY way to prevent a reoccurance of our current crisis. If you have a better suggestion than "Oh, Well!" and throwing your hands up in the air in dispair, I'd like to hear about it.
It's been my long lifetime experience, trying to change anyone from switching from one party to the other is of little use. I always vote for who I feel will do the best job, no matter what party they are. I no longer lock myself in to any one party. The two main parties have voters who will die voting for their parties candidate, regardless if that party selection is a 100% total dunce. It doesn't matter.
I used to be like you, and pull my hair out to see who we had for four years, and if he, (sorry Ladies, ), won for another four years I would almost pick up the TV and throw it against the wall. Presidents have cost me my job, to be fair to foreign countries; jacked up my taxes; screwed the middle class for the rich; given those who sit on their asses what I've worked for all my life because they didn't want to work for it? Now, they can kiss my backside.
I do what I can, if my choice loses, he, (sorry again Ladies, someday hopefully ), loses, and I don't give a rat's ass anymore until next election. You can't toss the bums out, and those that like them will vote for them again. Why? Because the dunce is their parties candidate, that's why. There are millions of more followers than leaders. Like sheep kissing their parties ass, they go on doing it. I don't lose any sleep over it, or as they say "Give a damn". Life goes on, and so do I. I feel your frustration, but dying over stress of politicians is not worth it. Then there would be one less to try to get their ass out next election. And I mean this of all parties candidates, I show no favoritism. Some people can not think for themselves, and are easily lead around just like the candidates they vote for. Some cabinet members actually run the country for them, in the background.
As citizens of this country we have that choice, and I do not mean to say any were wrong, as to who they voted for. As a country where we do have choices, we have to live with the results of having such choices. No matter how much it pisses us off. Beating it to death on here will not change one damn thing, or the election for the next four years. Read the politically informative magazines, and all of the poles taken by the major networks, as well as pole authorities that are reliable, or as close as possible. You may feel better venting on here, but any real gain from it stands about as much chance, as the chads did in Florida from changing the vote. My suggestion? Live your life, and make sure to vote the next election.

Certainly what's done is done. Nothing in that prevents a scrutiny of the actions or inactions of any selected official, and that is, in essence, what happens here for the most part. That scrutiny is the responsibility of each citizen in all cases, and today the president is bush so it will be his actions under the scope. No American should ever accept without question any disagreeable to him or her practice of any elected official, yet that is exactly what the followers of the republican cult would have us all do.
The refrain of idiots is now "We have a president so follow him off to the slaughter like I am", usually accompanied by a smilie that indicates their pleasure in the scenario.

It never ceases to amaze me how different some people truly believe the democraps and repooplicans are. They are both puppets for large corporations, don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

You have to give Bush credit; he's working hard to remove the former narrow views that we've developed as a nation about oligarchy and theocracy.
