"But, let's just try to agree that some people prefer to celebrate mother's day and are happy and others aren't."

I think, for some reason, you took the thread to mean something else. That's why hepburn started this thread, because "...others aren't [happy]". She gave respect to those that are happy to celebrate the day. I appreciated what she said and why she said it, as I previously posted. So did all the others. There was no attempt, by starting this thread, to take away from anyone the joy of sharing the day. I believe you may not have connected the title "For those that DON'T" to the thread, (capitalization is only to show it as stated, not meant to be in a shouting manner by me). The title, IMO, is always reflective of what the originator intends to speak about. If you put the two together, maybe you can see what was meant.

"For those that DON'T.....Celebrate this day for whatever reasons you may have, here's wishing you a happy day. (thought I would represent those who are like me)."

Hepburn has never shown to be an uncaring person. In fact, just the opposite. She related caring about those of us, herself included, that "aren't" enjoying the day. It was posted in a separate thread, out of respect to those that do celebrate the day. If she didn't agree to the difference, she would not have started a separate thread.

Mint4you:

I think Hepburn and I ended this discussion on a positive friendly note. I don't understand why you come in late and want to reopen the subject. It's been over for more than an hour.

Fueling the flames won't get a different response from me and I don't think Hepburn wants to carry this on either.

Why not just let it drop and not get personal? We really aren't supposed to be addressing one another are we? Address the topic only please. The only reason Hepburn and I are allowed to address one another was to hash out some unspoken things. That's done. Over. Out. Please go fight with someone who wants to fight. I don't and either does Hepburn.

Sheesh!

Putting my ID and a quote from one of my posts isn't really addressing the topic is it?

Have a nice week all!

Moderator, please go ahead and lock this up now. I think it served its purpose.

Mint4you, thank you. That was my intention...to wish people a nice day regardless of what is politically correct and that day named for something I cant relate to. Because the female species can give birth, does not make a mother. I dont like mothers day. But thats me.

(Neener neener Stockticker. Maybe I will get the last word?)
