ANYONE BIDDING ON OR PLANNING TO BUY A LAPTOP THRU AMAZON OR EBAY - Be Careful
There has been several sellers that have sucsessfully sold Toshiba laptops and some VAIO laptops also that they did not ship.
Currently 8 ebay buyers are filing fraud against a seller that collected the money from each and then disappeared. There are more probably than 8 but I personally know of 8. I was one, I used Paypal, made sure the seller had a 10 or above rating with no negative feedback, verified that he was a paypal premier verified member as well as aol member. I lost 638.99. This is #2 for me. I lost 861.00 several months ago and was denied any insurance from amazon so I made sure to follow the auctions tips THIS TIME to checkout the seller. I also used ebay because supposedly they were more careful screening their members. NOT!

Sorry to hear about this problem, but I did see it happening right in front of my face, as I am preparing to start selling Toshiba Laptops in the near future.
As a seller, I worry that people are not bidding as much due to the fear of fraud.
Since you did get Scammed, is there anything in particular I could do to ensure that I am truthful and honest in my dealings?
I have been an eBay member since 98 and I have almost 80 Pos. Feedback \ No Negs.
Any info will help myself and others...

Just an FYI to those looking to buy Laptops or any computer equipment on-line.
DELL has their own auction site. They allow anyone to seel BUT they do have computers that are auctioned direct from DELL.
I have won 2 laptops from DELL. Both machines are working great. Both came with warrenty. I may have paid a little more but with warrenty and the knowlege I was getting them from DELL makes the difference.
By the way, I do not have any affiliation with DELL and my cost was much less than similar machines on eBay. Since eBay seems to be a premium site they tend to get premium bids.

· Non-paying bidders
· paypal charge backs
· Bounced checks
· Fraud problems
· Negative feedback for no good reason (retaliation)
I found out the hard way that safe harbor and FBI don’t do a thing about it, and I signed up for a sitesentury.com, a security company that will do REAL investigations. Check out their site, I signed up for their service and I put their log on all my auctions and the bad guys will think twice before they mess with me!!!!!!! It is like having a security guard by my side protecting me!!! Which car do you thing the thieves like to break-in: one with alarm-on or one without??? That is what the log will do for you.
The investigator already got me some of the money I lost on bounced checks and the bank fee too!!!!!!
