I have been trying for the last 3 days to withdraw funds from my X.com account and have been unsuccessful so far. X.com customer service is virtually non-existant. I spent 4 hours trying to get thru on the phone and all I got was a cycle of busy busy busy, then ring ring ring. When finally I got their automated system I was put on hold for approximately 45 minutes and then suddenly they disconnected me ! Calling back got me the cycle of busy busy busy and then ring ring ring again ! Today I finally got someone at "live help". He had no help to offer ! I am withdrawing all of my funds (when I can) from X.com and will not use them. How can you trust your money with a company that you cannot contact and has bugs in their system ? I cant !

Hi Everyone.
Good to see that others are having problems with X.com also, and it is not just me,
as X.com told me. I contacted them and they told me it must be my connection, even
though I tried from 3 separate ISP's and a cable line, hmm. Well I have now lost 3
sells of auction customers wanting to pay via this service after I told them it was an
option and sent them a link.
I contacted X.com and they advise me that per the terms and conditions that they
were not responsible.
So guess what I will now close my account and go back to using the reliable
Bidpay.com and Iescrow.com service.
Oh well, and I was so hopeful about this x.com service.
Note that if you don't use their service during the month, meaning incoming money
they will access a service charge.
Anyone tried the https://secure.paypal.com .... service? I have read their site but
seems a little bit of a hassle to actually get paid cold hard cash.

Paypal.com isn't perfect but they are much more reliable than X.com is presently. I have been using paypal for about a month and they transfer funds electronically into my bank account within 2 days of when I post a withdrawal which is pretty good. If you want them to send you a check it takes 10-14 days. X.com customer service is the absolute worst and today I wrote a check for all the funds I had in X.com and will no longer use them. It amazes me that a company like X.com starts up a business such as theirs and is surprised at the volume of business they get and are understaffed and unprepared ! The mere fact that they pay $20 to signup should be a clue to them that business will be good. The bottom line for me is the fact that it took me 3 days and many many many hours of dialing and redialing and waiting for online help to finally get through to a human being and then I got no real help. I got excuses but no real help. When someone has my money and I cant get in touch with them I get real uncomfortable ! Well, I will try X.com again in a few months to see if they got their act together but in the meantime I deal with paypal only.
P.S. To my eBud users, eBay has made some subtle changes causing bugs in eBud. I am working feverishly to correct them and have posted 3 updates today alone ! )Customer service (to me) means getting the job done, not lame excuses.

Reliability and Service without excuses.
That is what I want in a service, including a online banking service. Well all I have received from X.com thus far is very poor excuses. Horrible customer service.
Well I have been using iescrow.com for months and have found them to be
extremely reliable and quickly responsive to any questions I have. I use it to accept
credit card and tell my customers who wish to pay via credit card the following
"I-Escrow (accepts Credit Cards):
1) Go to the following site: < http://www.iescrow.com/ebay/ Terms: We will accept
this payment type, ONLY if you chose the following options! That buyer (YOU)
choose the following options. Buyer pays shipping, (choose non refundable shipping
option), buyer (YOU) pays Iescrow fees, and that your inspection period is for 1
(one) day.
You agree that inspection is only for the purpose of insuring you receive the product
as advertised. It's free to sign up for the service.
2) Sign up for the service.
3) Following the online instruction for creating a transaction. Use the Auction
information contained in this email.
This far iescrow has worked fine but takes about two weeks to cut you a check. So
for right now I will opt for reliability and services over the supposed convenience that
X.com and others claim but do not provide.
P.S. I am so fed up with people that are winners of my auctions sending me
solicitation to join X.com, I must be getting 10+ solicitations a day now from current
and past auction, and some people have even been hostile when I refuse to except it
as a form of payment or join under them. Even though I feel I offer more forms of
convenient payment that most ebay sellers I have encountered, go figure.

Add one more to the list of sellers disgusted with trying to deal with x.com. They would have to pay me a lot more than $20 to give them another chance. I wonder if any of the outfits that invested big bucks in this venture have a clue what is going on out in the trenches with their customers - or in my case, EX-customer. Why is Auctionwatch still promoting them?

I agree with you all, they are quick to sign you up but then it all stops no phone support, email or live support you cannot access or make payments because they are either so backed up or not there. Very scary stuff when you have sent them money and now cannot do anything because they are backed up. you can't even call to cancell!!

Hey I find your postings absolutely hilarious, ROFL.
You Wrote:
"Money sucking X.com, stupid banners not allowed to mention competitive sites"
Actually all of my post suggesting alternatives to X.com were pulled by auction watch. They sent me an email saying it was against the terms and conditions
of community standards to suggest or advertise these sites.
Hmm, Damnit,
What the heck is all this advertising I keep getting from AuctionWatch about X.com. I would think it violates the very community standards they pulled my posting for, go
figure.

Hey they never sent any checks and it has been over a month. Received a visa card but everytime I try to use it the ATM says can not commnuicate with other bank. I still have $250 in the account.

Actually my reading comprehension is pretty good. I read the entire terms and conditions in the microscopic print they use full of legal jargon.
I have actually attempted to close the account in every manner possible. See my latest posting at: http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=2&thread=139214
From your posting I must question if are a PR front for X.com. Now really, getting through directly and having all your questions taken care of, hmm, if you say so?
Furthermore I have had 2 other online bank accounts ... (Auction watch prohibits that I name them) ..... but I was able to close my account via email phone and fax in less than 1/2 hour. They verified the same information used to open the account, hmm.

How in the world can they bend over backwards to help us if they won't even answer their phones or respond to email, hmm? I would and intend on taking my money out but can't even get a response from them. I did send them a legal notice recently via FEDEX, let's see if that gets their attention.

Be careful with this service!!!
I tryed to make a deposit, but with their New Security feature
x.com would not accept my credit
card, HOWEVER, the funds were charged on my account and after 4hours of waiting I finally talked
to someone that told me they didn't know what happened, and then told me that this is common
and that the funds would be redireted to my credit card account
I tried to tell him that normally if my card does not go through then the funds aren't taken off my card. He said that it my take 7 to 30 days before I get my money back.
I took all of the links I placed on my auctions off because when they fail to provide service I don't want someone turning to me and saying that I had refered them................Just proceed with caution!!!!!!!!

Hi, everybody! I guess there is some problem with X.com. I have just been unhappy that I gave them my Social Security Number, and then was refused access. Makes me nervous. No listing with the BBB that I could find on-line. If these guys are criminals, I hope they get nailed. As for competing services that help with credit card payments, there's an outfit here in Seattle, that started with book selling on-line that still hasn't made a profit, etc. etc., that has been very reliable (if a little pricey) with credit cards. The free services of X.com sure were alluring, but maybe you get what you pay for? Thanks!

I'm a little surprised by your problems. I have the same complaints concerning Paypal. I think they are awful and that's as clean as I can get. X.Com has been great to me and I've had absolutely no problems moving money around.

First Contact!
In response about how to contactX.com. I just yesterday received my first response from X.com via email, after 3 week, yes after 3 weeks, of waiting. It appears they
are not responding to telephone calls at this time or fax. The email I just received was a canned response, form letter not specifically answering my question, but
nevertheless a response. It suggested in the email that if I needed to contact them or had any questions to please write the following:
TO: X.com
Attn.: Customer Care
PO Box 2228
Cranberry Township, PA 16066-9922

Haven't had to contact customer service by phone. All my problems were taken care of by e-mail QUICKLY and on-line technical service. Papal well I started getting action when I posted a message on this services boards and lo and behold one of paypals service reps was on there.

I want everyone to know that x.com isn't as easy as it sounds. I have lost two very loyal customers thanks to them. X.com doesn't let someone simply pay for an auction through a notice. For example, if someone wants to pay by VISA, they must first fill out a new customer form, that immediately gives them a bank account. Also, your name is filled in as a referral, so the customer thinks you know they will be bilked for a new account. I couldn't believe the process, it is not at all like it is described to the seller or buyer and it is definetly not like the demonstration screens. I had a auction close with no bidders, so I sent an email request for payment for that auction to my husband. Before he could make payment for that auction, he had to fill out a new customer form that automatically gave him an account number. I wanted to make sure it was really happening as the customers had said and complained about. It does. No one can just simply make a VISA payment without becoming an account holder with x.com

I became a member and knew from the before I entered the site i was signing up for an account. Seriously I beleive it's a great way to get paid quickly, maximize your profits by referrals and manage your auctions. When I send out messages at the close of the auction I also give the buyer the option of sending a Money Order. Ialso use Paypal but have nothing so far but horror stories to report. One of the people on one of these boards is a customer service rep so hopefully I'll get some action. At least there's no charge for taking credit cards this way.

I have had nothing but problems with X.com; buyers transfer funds for auction payments that I don't receive in my account; I don't get answers to my e-mail for help; I was on hold with their so-called live help for about an hour, and still didn't get the help I needed. Now, their server is down. Is this the kind of bank I can we can depend upon to help me run a business? I don't think so.

I have nothing but good things to say about x.com. I have never had a problem withdrawing money at an ATM, or making a purchase using my Visa debit card. I also have never had a problem with transfering funds to or from my x.com account. I *have* contacted them using the phone (regarding their mutual funds) and have gotten through without a problem, and with minimal hold time.
I don't work for x.com, nor do I doubt that any of you have had problems. I'm just saying this as feedback. They may have minor glitches (yes, even banks have problems), but it's not life-ending. X.com's service (for me anyways) has always been exemplary.

Orbit53: If you got thru to X.com customer support without a problem then you are a very lucky person ! I tried calling repeatedly (redial for hours on end) for 3 consecutive days and never got a human being on the phone. I am now getting email replies to serious inquires which I sent in 3 weeks ago! I was very high on X.com at first and was ready to transfer substantial sums of money into mutual funds, etc at X.com but I cannot trust a bank or similar institution where I cannot contact someone to answer a question. I still have my account open and accept an X.com payment now and then so I will check on their customer support improvements in the future. When the day comes that I can pick up the phone and call them can get a human being on the phone to answer questions within 10 minutes of my dialing then I will start using them again.

I signed up with X.com and always have problems. Can't get in. Can't send auction bill. My buyers can't get in. I singed up witn Paypal.com without a hitch and will be using that form now on. X.com is a huge disappointment since I really like AuctionWatch.

I posted on another thread re: X.com and PayPal, but thought I'd chime in here too.
I registered with both services, and have no major complaints. They are both literally overwhelmed by the growth explosion that they've had, and they are dealing with it.
I have never had a problem reaching X.com via their toll-free telephone number, and they are available 24/7. Can't say the same for PayPal.com unfortunately.
I've made transfers both ways, deposits, ATM withdrawals, you name it...it all works and very expediently. I know some are having problems with these services, but I just wanted to let those people who are considering their services know that it's NOT all bad...it has been a good experience, and I'm looking forward to a great banking relationship with X.com anyway. Nothing against PayPal., but I like to have my money from buyers "NOW", not in 3 days.

After three weeks of frustration it looks like x.com got their stuff together. Transactions are now smooth their site is now working and you can now talk with someone. It is a great service and works perfectly. They promised after initial start up issues super service and now I retract my original statment and replace it with a successfull endevour.

I am SOOOO glad to see that I'm not the only one having serious problems with X.com!!! I have had nothing but trouble with them since I signed on, sure signing up was fast and easy but that's where it ends! Doesn't AuctionWatch see that this isn't making them look very good either? I have always loved AW's great and easy to use services but since they haven't done anythng about X.com or at least taken the advertisements off, now I'm begining to wonder about them. I think AW needs to address this very serious issue. Glad to find out I'm not alone thanks to all of you! Doesn't it make you wonder how many more unsatisfied people there are out there?

Interestingly enough I've had no problems with x.com personally. I've used it to pay for auctions and to receive payments. I also use it to pay for products from my supplier to sell on auction. I think the service is great and it and it's counterpart Paypal need time to catch up to their extreme growth. I had problems with Paypal but thanks to a great customer service department I got it straghtned out.

x-com is a nightmere. when you contact them they tell you that they are srtiving to make it "secure" when i asked for a time frame they don't reply. they keep thanking me for my patience which ran out long ago--about when i began losing customers because of them. it seems to me that if you are an online banking service, it would be obvious to you not to go online until after your service is secure. I have not as yet experienced problems with paypal--other than i can't use it for anything but to accept funds as they have not sent my address verification yet. --over a week. i think i am going back to the old check or money order method as, for the small seller, of which i am one, the loss is truely hurtsome. i can't think it's a real joy for the full timers either!! i am really disgusted. i wish i'd know about this discussion page before as i would have never signed up
with the warnings from all of you !!! carol
