I auction hand painted decorative art furniture, each piece signed by the artist.....starting prices are above $100 and often over $200....I am currently using ebay, but wonder if that is the best forum.....any suggestions on an auction site suitable for this type of item?

Actually, our home and garden area is doing comparatively well and is anchored by Furniture Find, a strong retailer with offerings in living room, dining room, bedroom and kitchen goods.
I also think you'll like our fixed price sales which means that a single multiple-item listing will be displayed for up to three months.
If you use our BidSafe product, we'll even automate the transaction for a small fee and notify you when a buyer's credit card has been successfully charged. You need only ship to the confirmed address (no email dance.)
Another alternative would be to list a ton of items to all start on a single day a month from now. Then, in all your other auctions and with other efforts, promote that "individual" auction to prior customers and through newsgroups, etc. You could even put out press releases to promote the event.
Anyway, those are just a few of the opportunities that exist on auctions.com.
BTW: our fees are 2.5 percent flat and there is no basic listing or reserve fee. The BidSafe credit card acceptance costs a flat 3.5 percent and there is no minimum amount or fee. (There is a $19.95 registration fee but that also covers shipping insurance for items up to $3,000.)
