Got your email and also saw this post and decided to check it out for myself. Right now everything, at least from my end of the world, seems hunky-dory.

I'm in the Atlanta area and of course, AU is in CT with servers in the DC area so I'm plainly off-site -- but still closer than you in the Pacific Northwest.

I was out this afternoon visiting with some folks and happened to log on AU briefly and did see a little slowness but I ascribed that to the 19200 connection the store owner had:-)

As I've said before, sometimes when I see things slowing down, I check out one of our affiliate sites. Often I'm surprised how fast they work, especially in "prime time" when AU is being heavily shopped.
