For those who had a sneak peak at the "My Universe" pages in early February, the heat is on... and the stereo on full blast at "your universe" too.

I'll be posting a second message as soon as I can capture an image of this "improvement" which is a cross between "my eBay", "honesty.com's" old feedback checker and account management.

But for those who saw our first effort, this message will come as a very pleasant surprise.

FYI: "My universe" is not the same as "My eBay." It is not a public page. It can only be reached by logging on the AU system using your user id and password.

As it is a behind the wall "item" it gives you access to your billing information, links directly to "auction management" and feedback pages and shows you auction results for the past six months, including bids, high bidder(s) or, if you're the buyer, who the buyer was. It would also show you where you bid and lost (the win and lose bids are color coded.)

The first screen pretty much tells you what is available for view.

The second screen shows you recent auctions for an unnammed seller ranked from high dollar to low dollar. Of course the page would continue with other auctions, buyers etc.

The really neat thing about this is that it helps the sellers (and buyers) do the ratings. You can see this seller has missed a few so far.... but then My Universe is new, too.

On thing for sure, it will help speed the auction ending process.

You must be thinking of the "ME" Pages at eBay which are in fact public pages where sellers and buyers can tell others about their business or interestest. It is a fun feature that is especially nice when CHATTING on eBay, since you can be talking with someone, click their "ME" icon and see their picture, or their interests, and get more of a personality for that person.

I checked "MyeBay" and the functionality of the two tools seems generally comparable. I like MyUniverse, however, because it notes directly whether you've posted feedback for a trading partner or not, thus prompting you to do so.

Of course that is possible because of our "hardwired" transactional feedback system.
