Has the Bidsafe California residents question been cleared up? I had 2 auctions close yesterday where I got the e-mail saying the payment is approved and to ship the items. The buyer is in CA. Will I in fact get paid if i send these out?
On a related note, the same person won a 3rd auction but put it in as a regular transaction. Should I e-mail him and ask him if he wants to do that one Bidsafe as well? I can put in a limited time auction with the same info and tell him to bid on it right? But then I would get double charged for the transaction fee.......
Any advice welcome!
Tanya

Thanks I appreciate that. I am feeling a little frustrated right now because I am supposed to ship this stuff by tomorrow according to my "Bidsafe Activity" page (even though the PO is closed today). But the page for California residents is still up on the Bidsafe page so I am confused as to how he was able to submit 2 Bidsafe auctions. And why the 3rd one wasn't.
Also, if someone is signed up as a Bidsafe buyer, don't they get a little lock next to their name? Or is that only for Gold members?

So what happens here, any way? I've had lots of customers from California -- are they not allowed to bid on my auctions when I sign up with Bid$afe????????
If they can bid, then what happens when they can NOT pay via Bid$afe? This I find confusing.

Right now, California residents are not allowed to sign up for BidSafe. As Pat has explained before apparently someone dug up a little known CA licensing requirement for escrow services and dropped it on A.C's doorstep.
However, as I discovered, some people slipped through the cracks. If you run a BidSafe auction and someone from CA bids who is still listed as a bidsafe buyer and uses the bidsafe payment option, you will get paid. Period. However getting them to pay for any auctions after they are discovered is a bit more of a challange, but that is another story .
If you run BidSafe only auctions, for the time being you will have only Canadians and the other 49 states' citizens bidding (not sure about the territories). No Australia, UK, Japan or California. The California issue is supposed to be cleared up around the beginning of the new year though. Then maybe they can work on accepting the rest of the world into the program....
