What do I do to sell FIXED price mdse at Auctions.com?

What's the cheapest way to do this?

Can I sell via a "Store Front" on this site, and STILL use Bid$afe -- or, if I use Bid$afe, does that mean that therefore I am an auctioneer, and thus (will) require a LICENSE from my state board.

I ain't getting NO license from any OFFLINE auctioneers associations. I've read e'nuff books about RL auctions houses, and I assurre you that THEY ain't gonna have NO chance whatsoever to "accredit" & license me.

Whadda LAUGH!!

I mean, really!!!!!!

Run "For Sale" listings. Same price as listing auctions (FREE) and you can accept Bidsafe payments or payments the old fashioned way (check, MO). The only difference is that when someone clicks to buy on your For Sale listing the item is sold immediately, no waiting to see if they get outbid, no proxies, just a plain old sale.

As far as a Storefront the closest you can get without going into debt is to have a web site with a link to your Auctions.Com listings. Hypermart is a good place to get a biz website going and as an added bonus, I have noticed Auctions.Com banners at the top of my pages for the last week or so. Talk about pushing traffic! If you are feeling flush though, you can sign up for a Merchant account and get a personalized listing page among other benefits.

Thank YOU, Tanya! That's what I wanted to know.

Ya know, this learning so many differrent rulez and regs for so many different auction "venues" -- I don't have the brain capacity for this.

So here it is called **FOR SALE**.

THANK YOU. As this will be my concentration, once I start, as I just can't see me doing any more online auctions, the way I feel this second, but ofcourse a good night's sleep could change my mahhRvelous outlook. LOL

Radh:

No off line auctioneers board would even think of trying to regulate a "For Sale" listingn would they.

You know the really funny thing. The only difference between an online auction and a for sale listing is one is the radio button select on top and the other is the one below.

You select one or the other.

To me the idea that little of a difference could invoke the power the state to regulate is ludicrous.

But as Tanya said, (Thanks Tanya), the act of listing a for sale itme is otherwise the same as listing an auction.

Good Morning!

It is absolutely wild what a bunch of OFFLINE clueless so-called "professionals" can come up with about cyberspace so that they can demonstrate their abject ignorance!

I agree, it truely is amazing at how ignorant people can be (meant in a nice way). What is lacking here is some clarification about what kind of business that is being run.

FACT: people who sell items at online auction houses are NOT in the auction business! The online auction housethat you are using IS in the Auction business.

FACT: people who sell their wares strictly over the Internet and ship as freight (e.g., the US Post Office, UPS, Evergreen Trucking Lines, etc.) are in the MAIL ORDER business.

If anyone ever approaches you and tells you that your business is anything else and you are not sure, please seek the advice of a lawyer before you apply for any 'extra' licences.

. . . and if that doesn't convince ya, I've got some water-front property to sell ya . . .

NOT til YOU buy my copy of the Brooklyn Bridge!!!

I'll tell ya this -- my attorney has been notified, and is reading a whole number of articles. My friends are all calling up people in the state legislature.

I have even among my RL network of friend and acquaintances and offline customers have located a LICENSED AUCTIONEER -- you see, in some states, you only need one in the company, OR something...!

LOL

I guess what *really* gets me is that I frankly do NOT have much respect for that "profession" -- so have NO intentions of THEM accrediting ME, and anyway, I agree with you that online auctions are a version of RETAIL MAIL ORDER.

Thanks for speaking up, as the lurkers can get pretty confused when I leave out something SO BASIC!!

LOL
