I am wondering if anyone can give me some information on how to post pictures on ebay so they come up side by side instead of one above the other. Thanks!!

I'll tell you how to put pictures side-by-side but I do want to encourage you to put the auction up on auctions.com
The technique is really quite easy. It does take an image editing program.
You open each image (image A and B) and then also a third "empty" image (Image C) in your photo editor. The "empty" image has to be large enough for to hold both image A and B.
You copy image A and paste it into image C, aligning it to the left of the double-sized image "C".
Then copy image B and paste it into image C, aligning it to the right.
You then save image "C" to disk as a jpg. This will convert the floating images and make it one large image with image A to the left and image B to the right ... all in image C.
You can then adjust the compression on image C in terms of size, etc. to make it no larger than say 30-40,000 kilobytes. You may even "reduce" or "resample" the image to make it, not 400 X 800 pixels, but 300 X 600 pixels to hit your size target.

Um, yah - you could do it the way Neomax mentioned. But it is easiest (for me) to simply use a basic HTML writing program (some are for free from Download.com and Windows 98 comes with FrontPage 2.0).
Simply open up your HTML editor, then insert each picture as you would in a normal word processor; e.g. Insert Menu -> Insert Picture.
Next, go try to post the item as usual. When you get to the Description box, go back to your HTML editor and select the HTML view if yours allows it as an option. Go to your Edit menu -> Select All (CTRL+A). Then copy it. Switch back to your Description box and Paste it in there (Always on the Right-Click mouse menus).
Try it that way if you find graphics programs too complicated to use.

You're absolutely right about that alternative... and if you're aware of and use HTML (or use a crutch HTML editor like me) it really is easier to do it your way.
The other thing, though, is if you use HTML to accomplish that, you need to put a quasi-picture link in the picture field or users won't know you're illustrating your auction with a picture.
Either way is fine and either way works. Because you're putting the picture link for the "combined" pictures in the picture link, you don't have to worry about putting in another link to get the picture icon.
Thanks for the post. One of the things I like about computers and computing is there is often more than one way to accomplish things.
