Vendio: I have an auction in pending that has an error when I tried to launch into my eBay store. This item has already been listed twice in the auction format. I did a couple of changes when I tried to list, but it came back with this error message. I put it back exactly the same way it was launched the previous two times, and it still came back with the same error message. Can you please look at it and tell me what the problem is.
The exact error message coming back from eBay states:
Attention Seller:
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, limits are occasionally placed on accounts. When listing this item, you will not be able to choose shipping to Asia. Please go back and update your shipping options.
We sincerely value you as a member of our trading community and look forward to a continued successful relationship.
Click here for a window with eBay's policy on replica or counterfeit items."
It sounds like you could simply edit your 'ship to' locations to get this item posted without error. Click to do an 'eBay preview' in the listing after making your changes, as just above the description is where the above note was appearing - if its gone, you should then be able to relist without error.

Please look at again, Vendio. It doesn't talk about sending to another country at all. It says:
Error 240: The item cannot be listed or modified.
The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.
So do you understand why this I'm getting this error message on something that has already been listed twice before without incident?

I do not understand this at all. This isn't a counterfeit item like some of the items listed. These are four small Disney plush toys. They have a disney tag on them. What is the problem? Do you have any ideas? And I send everything everywhere. Why Aisa not being someplace I can ship a Disney plush to?

FYI - to help other Vendio customers, please note that when an error message sites improper key words etc., it has nothing to do with counterfeit items or shipping to Aisa. It means that there's a word or words that are causing it to be spit back. I took out the word "farm" and it went through. Thanks for trying to be helpful, anyway.
Its true that eBays error messages don't always mean what they say, thats why its important to use the 'eBay preview' option for those 'error 240' messages as usually that will point you in a better direction.
In this case it pointed out that eBay thought there was something about the listing that made it appear to be counterfeit.

I got the same message this morning when trying to relist a Burberry Raincoat ADVERTISEMENT.
It had already listed once. I got the same message:
The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.
When revising an item on eBay today I got the Asia message. I think something weird is going on with ebay, since the item did not have an international option.

I still can't get it to launch and the ebay preview tells me nothing more than what we already have discerned.

Beth - I am pretty sure you are seeing the effects of ebays new anti-counterfeit measures (unannounced and secret) even though what you are selling is not the item itself. I have no idea what you can do to get it fixed (try Trust and Safety I guess).

I just went to closed on Ebay and launched them from there..without a problem. Strange that eBay relisted them in an instant but not if I tried to list them from here.
Beth, it does sound like Neglus is right about this. I've noticed in the past that when eBay's system automatically checks listings for keywords it doesn't always check every listing for every word. So even if the listings are identical, sometimes eBay will notice a keyword and fail the listing. Sometimes they won't.
Here's some more information on the new anti-counterfeit measures that might be helpful. (Most of this is in the article that Neglus posted, but this helps to sum it up.)
eBay has placed some restrictions on certain name-brand items.
The first thing you should do is go to Sales Manager, click into the pending errored listing, and click the "eBay Preview" button at the bottom of the screen. If your items are falling into the "restricted" list, this will return a more specific error or warning explaining what you need to do to eliminate the error. Below is listed more detail on the restrictions:
1. If you are listing items that eBay has identified as "particularly susceptible to counterfeiting" (eBay has not published a list of these items at this time) you must be Paypal verified. You do not have to offer Paypal as a payment method, but you are required to go through the verification process.
2. eBay is conducting "seller reviews" of sellers who are listing items on the anti-counterfeiting list. eBay may restrict the sale of certain items by seller. Please contact eBay directly for more information if you suspect that you might have been restricted from selling items.
3. eBay has banned 1 - 3 day auctions of items on the anti-counterfeiting list. If you are receiving errors on 1 - 3 day listings, please try extending the duration.
4. eBay is restricting cross-border trade on items on its anti-counterfeiting list. Sellers in the U.S., Germany and UK may ship such items worldwide except to Hong Kong and China. Sellers in English-speaking countries can trade such items freely with each other. But sellers in China and Hong Kong may not list these items on their local sites or on any other eBay site. If you have specified worldwide shipping or shipping to Hong Kong/China, please try revising your shipping to eliminate these locations.

First, we get error messages all the time, normally they are the "maybe it got listed, maybe it didn't" line. Vendio has some real problems = SLOWNESS. You cannot blame eBay all the time. There is not peak time every day of every week.
We got 20 of these new errors talked about above. We just kept hitting launch now, and most would relist. If they didn't, we just hit launch now again, and they all finally did list.
