Lately, when creating a new listing, it takes an extremely long time for a profile to load so I can edit it. If I jump the gun and start typing in the title field, 30 seconds later I'm typing in another place altogether - apparently the page wasn't finished loading yet. This easily adds 1-2 minutes per listing. It's not my computer or my cache. I use Firefox and Vista. Why so slow?

Hello,

I took a look at your account, but I was unable to duplicate the problem. Please try using Internet Explorer for an item or two, and let us know whether or not it gives you the same results.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks, Nathan. IE doesn't seem to have the hiccup I get when I list on Vensio with Firefox, Not sure I want to use IE, though. Maybe I'll try Chrome

Page loads slow for me too - I used to bring up my profile, and highlight the title bar and then start typing new title. Now I have to wait for page to load or my typing starts at the end of the line instead of replacing the text that is there. Also, if I am too quick, FF actually crashes!

Hello,

That is odd. I am also on Firefox and I have been unable to duplicate the problem. Could you please confirm that you have tried clearing your browser cache? If you have and it did not help, do you have any Firefox add-ons that you are using?

Regards,
Nathan

I always clear my cache when I close my browser. I use these FF add-ons: Adblock and Adblock Plus, Skype and Phish tank.

I watched the lower part of the screen (where it recites web progress - it kind of hangs and then the last thing flashing by (when it kind of makes a jerk) says something about google (google analytics?) and then it's loaded. Was Google Analytics added recently?

Also happens when I edit a relisted item.

Hello Neglus,

We haven't made any changes recently that should have affected this. Does Internet Explorer work without any problems for you as well?

Nathan

I just tried IE. The profile (after category page) loads differently from FF. Instead of instantly going to the page as in FF and jerking until page is loaded, it goes white until it is loaded (still about the same delay) and then suddenly appears.

The page definitely takes longer to load on both browsers than it used to. It isn't all that recently - I would say it started happening around September/October. On FF, I used to be able to type the title BEFORE the page finished loading and now that isn't possible. I have to train myself to wait until it is done jerking. If I forget, the highlighting to delete the title and start typing won't work until the jerking is stopped. I have crashed FF several times when I am too quick to start typing (Firefox box pops and says FF has encountered difficulties and has to shut down and then it closes.)

Ditto Neglus, IE doesn't load the page faster, but prevents you from entering information prematurely. I haven't encountered this delay from any other site.

Hello,

Thank you for the additional information. Could you please confirm whether or not this is the only area in Vendio where you are having this problem? Also, it would be helpful if either or both of you could provide the name of a specific profile that is having the problem. I have still been unable to duplicate the problem, and it is possible that it is only happening for certain profiles.

Regards,
Nathan

I think it is all of them. I just did an experiement and moved all of my "unfiled" images to another folder, thinking that might be the thing it hangs on but I still had it happen afterwards (I used the Alabama profile but I have tried with many of them and they are all about the same).

This happens when I edit a relaunch. I also have LONG delays when I click on "image hosting". It seems that the Vendio publisher takes a long time to sign in too. Once I get to image hosting, all is speedy.

It doesn't take anywhere near 1-2 mins for me (Pixiamom's OP) but I do notice the delay and the jerkiness.

Pixia - you have new laptop. Is it widescreen format by chance? I think the Vendio delay happened about the time I got my new widescreen monitor now that I think about it. Does Vendio adjust to monitor settings?

It may be the display. My laptop has 15.4" Diagonal WXGA High-Definition BrightView Widescreen Display. My profiles don't take 1-2 minutes to load, but 1-2 minutes are added to the time it takes me to list an item, when I take into consideration my cuss words and the time it takes me to correct the title.

I've been experiencing the same slowness for many months now. When I contacted Customer Service back then I was told repeatedly that it must just be my computer, since no one else had reported having the same problem. I do not use a widescreen monitor, nor do I use a laptop. I always keep cache cleared; I temporarily removed virus protection; had my computer checked to make sure there wasn't something else slowing it down; did everything possible at my end - nothing worked. The profile page, revision page and quite often the images can sometimes take 1-2 minutes to load. So long that I was forced to quit using Vendio for many of my listings. I don't have this problem with other services that I've started using and hope Vendio will correct the problem now that others have come foreward.
